You are correct. My 18k from jump should have been 1800. If it was 18k then the 300 minutes makes sense. But since it is 1800 as you said (3 seconds by about 600 locks), you are correct. Thank you for the clarification.
watched this video two years ago before I sister loc'd my hair, and it's been the driving force behind empowering me to take control of my own loc journey. My loctician even called it quits because I was too particular, which turned out to be the best thing for me. I've been doing my own locs for about 21 out of the 24 months I've been loc'd. I never took a class or received formal training; I learned everything from TH-cam University, and my locs look amazing! Doing my own locs taught me so much about my hair - what I like, how tight I want them, how often I want them done, and even what shampoo works best for me. Plus, I can wash my hair weekly to fit my workout schedule, even though it caused some slippage. But I learned how to fix any issues on my own. I can't thank you enough because some locticians try to control you and keep you tied to their schedules, charging crazy prices for maintenance. And if you dare speak up, they'll drop you as a client. But thanks to you, my hair and I are truly free. So, thanks, sis!
I love that you keep it real. Some people are afraid to even show the tool...which is crazy to me. I’ve been retightening my own hair since I got them installed because I refuse to fall in line with their rules and ideology. There is so much misinformation when it comes to sisterlocks.
I am 1 minute and 29 seconds in and I am grateful for this video because I've never seen the SL tool and I feel like they try to hide it or something. I also feel like it is too big. My goodness, that is why I have follicles coming out and this is why. Thank you for this video!
You are so good at making it feel like we are really hanging out with you! Thanks for sharing and showing that silly secret tool so everyone can finally take a good look at it (I peeped during my installation because I wasn't about to have no idea what was being used on MY head 😂)
It’s 7:30 for me!!! I have tried to explain this to people for years. I do not want to knock the work she put in. I applaud her for it actually. But I often give the example that if someone who took the class and someone who didn’t take the class install your locks. What are you going to say? It’s the same method but a different tool. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU
I have always thought that tool as tearing my hair especially when she would snatch it through. There is a bright side to everything because of Covid my old Loctician wanted me to get the 72 hour covid test which is not free. It would cost me $145-185 out of pockect before getting my hair locked. Even though I would wear a mask and sometimes I would wear the N95 mask while getting my hair done and have my temp taken. The cost of me getting my hair done would be almost $400.00 a month. I have alsways thought getting my hair done every four weeks was way too much stress on my hair but I went because there are not other sister locs providers in my area. So I started doing my own re ties.
I am so, so, so grateful for this video. This video gives me the confidence to stand up for my hair. Thank you for the information , it is extremely helpful and needed
Thank you for the information . I've had them over 10 years . I thought I couldn't do sister locs with out the tool you showed . I'm going to go to Walmart going to look for that platic needle thank you so much .
I just Love you and your hair💗although I have not made the decision to finally go have it done, watching you gets me closer and closer to making it happen 😊 stay blessed my sista.
Can't wait for you develop that tool or whatever it is to curl locs. I like curls and just love how curls formed by pipe cleaners look, but I am afraid to use them because my hair is already thin so I don't want to risk even more thinning more just to get pipe cleaner looking curls. Thank you so much for these very informative videos.
This post made me smile 😀 I thoroughly enjoy seeing people being themselves! Also, I’m enjoying your book... I read it daily (mostly at night, although I should probably be reading it in the earlier part of my day), and majority of the time it coincides with what I’m contemplating or meditating on during the day. Thanks for all you do... stay safe, healthy and beautiful, sis!
Love this! You are so on point about learning to be in the driver’s seat of your own life. That SL tool is the equivalent of a tiny plastic crochet hook-that’s all. I was in the SL universe for about two years and I had to leave it. It fosters a certain level of loctician arrogance , money grubbing, and client disrespect. I couldn’t take it anymore and it impacted how I felt about my hair being SL. I picked them out-twice! Because the second time I thought I had gotten the experience wrong so I got them again. Nope. I was right the first time! Had a wonderful first install for my first SL but the loctician was not taking new clients for reties thus began my journey of nightmarish loctician scenarios. I had to get out of it.
Gurl!!!! I was told by my X-loctician cause I dumped her on Saturday that I cannot ever put anything on my head except water. My hair is dry and snapping and THAT'S WHY I got a new loctician, but I'm learning how to do this myself.
BAE BAY, YOU SAID THAT!!!! I just had a loctician tell me that exact thing. you ain't got sisterlocs if you don't use that tool. I hate that tool because I hear it breaking my hair.
I been watching your channel for a while... love it! I just finished my sisterlocks Consultant class this weekend, horrible experience!!! I don’t like the tool, my instructor said i wasn't holding it right.... horrible experience with this lady!
4 seconds times 600 locks is 2400 seconds. Divided by 60, that is 40 minutes “extra”. The sisterlocks tool slows you down considerably so it may equal out.
I’m so pressed but I bought your book and your mom and my mom name are the same. It’s so unique, I’m excited to see someone else with her name lol. Love this video as well.
I do not like the sisterlocks tool and since my locs are on the bigger side, I use the Easy Loc tool. I've had no issues with it for the past few years.
Thanks for this video. I can't use the sisterlocks tool, it snatches my fine hair. And even the easy loc tool is too big for my sisterlocks and causes gaps.
Thanks for this video, it was very helpful and made a lot of sense. I really feel just like you about knowing what works best for your hair and not listen to everyone else's opinion not even a loctician. That's exactly what I did when I got my sisterlocks installed 2 months ago. My hair started locking faster after I started misting my hair daily with rosewater and peppermint oil mix together. I stopped braiding my hair down at night because it made my locs look skinny and so I was like how is my hair going to lock and matte up if I'm keeping the hair shaft smoothed down. Within a few days of me doing what I thought made sense and worked better for my hair I began to see better results.
You know you flashed that tool in the last video and I thought it was a razor for your eyebrows 😅 I don’t have SL so never seen it. When I was researching before I started my interlocks ppl would do everything but show the tool or how they retire their locs. This is so liberating really✌🏾✌🏾✌🏾
I would love to have SisLocs.. I don’t care what tools you use… But, SisLocs are for the rich Black women.. COST $1,000 up just for the first session… I live in Indianapolis, IN.. Two friends I know are well off financially… I have watched their hair grow from finger length to down the middle of their back within 6 to 7 months👍🏽👍🏽
Thank you for sharing. I think overtime the investment is worth it whether it's SL or microlocks. People often waste money on cell phones, cable and eating out etc., and they aren't rich. The return on these things Is marginal so best. These kinds of hairstyles payoff in the long run if you take care of the hair. The upfront cost can be prohibitive as you state, but when we examine what we end up doing with our money anyway, sometimes it can seem more affordable for thise who might otherwise think it's out of reach.
Hahaha! Someone from the channel gifted this mysterious little tool to me. I thought it was hilarious because people act like this tool is secret heirloom deserving of protection with one's life. LOL!!
Hey Sis! Double check what I said. Im not sure where I may not have been clear. I don't have a video as such. As a matter of fact, due to the Brand stipulations, it is likely illegal to direct or show someone how to use the tool. I am not sure if this applies to only SL consultants or trainees or the general public.
Mary that tool was sent to me by a subscriber. But there is another tool also that is very similar. Please stay tuned for my new video on Sisterlock Interlocking tools over the best 2 weeks. I'll talk about several tools there.
Having just had my locks installation completed yesterday, I can say that the tool does catch onto and pull the hair. It is very painful. The tapestry needle is a much better option. Much, much better. Also, I asked to see the tool during my consultation and while there wasn’t an out and out refusal to share it, I didn’t actually see it until the install. 🫣 It is an ill shaped crochet hook.
Lovely video. Forgive me but you miscalculated, it's 1800 seconds, which is just 30 minutes, not an extra five hours.
You are correct. My 18k from jump should have been 1800. If it was 18k then the 300 minutes makes sense. But since it is 1800 as you said (3 seconds by about 600 locks), you are correct. Thank you for the clarification.

It's wonderful when we get off the plantation, in whatever way that emerges for each of us. Freedom to direct and control your life and your hair.
I love that you keep it real. Some people are afraid to even show the tool...which is crazy to me. I’ve been retightening my own hair since I got them installed because I refuse to fall in line with their rules and ideology. There is so much misinformation when it comes to sisterlocks.
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 I always tell people only get Sisterlocks if you intend to learn how to rethighten yourself
I am 1 minute and 29 seconds in and I am grateful for this video because I've never seen the SL tool and I feel like they try to hide it or something. I also feel like it is too big. My goodness, that is why I have follicles coming out and this is why. Thank you for this video!

I know right!!! WHY is it secret? Such foolishness! LOL
It’s 7:30 for me!!! I have tried to explain this to people for years. I do not want to knock the work she put in. I applaud her for it actually. EVERY 4 WEEKS that is way too much. I do a retie every 4-6 months 6 months is really pushing it.
"Looking for a solution not a ritual".....wise words.
Yes, the tapestry needle!! Cheap and effective!! 💜💜💜and some more 💜 Your energy never fails to uplift! 🦋
I am so, so, so grateful for this video. This video gives me the confidence to stand up for my hair. Thank you for the information , it is extremely helpful and needed
Yay! One of the first comments :) Thanks for promoting transparency around sisterlocks!
It's called a yarn needle, and you can also purchase them from Amazon.
A bobby pin! Oh my gosh, how come I didn't think of that, thank you so much
Thank you for the information . I've had them over 10 years . I thought I couldn't do sister locs with out the tool you showed . I'm going to go to Walmart going to look for that platic needle thank you so much .

I love the London locs tools cause you don’t have to loop through
I truly enjoy your vids, and the message you put out. You just keep it so real. Thank you Thank you Thank you.
God Bless you Sis! Im learning how to do my own retightening 💋
Go Wanda!!! Yay!

Much Love. I'm humbled. Thank you Kecia! May God continue to uplift you!
Thank you so much! I am so thankful but most of all grateful for you. Happy Holidays and continued Blessings!
I'm very new into my Sisterlock journey, your videos are always so helpful and candid. I love your locs, queen!

Wow! Very VERY Insightful! What a shame.
Honey!!!! This TH-cam was everything!!! Literally hair to mond to heart to toe!!
It’s called a yarn needle. They come in metal as well.
🙏🏼🙏🏼👏👏👏 thank you for your video . God bless ♥️
Gurl!!!! I was told by my X-loctician cause I dumped her on Saturday that I cannot ever put anything on my head except water. My hair is dry and snapping and THAT'S WHY I got a new loctician, but I'm learning how to do this myself.
Wow!!
Wish I could, I took the training Never could use that tool. But I keep my tool just in case I may get interested in perfecting how to use it.😉
BAE BAY, YOU SAID THAT!!!! I just had a loctician tell me that exact thing. you ain't got sisterlocs if you don't use that tool. I hate that tool because I hear it breaking my hair.
Uhn!!!
I been watching your channel for a while... love it!
I just finished my sisterlocks Consultant class this weekend, horrible experience!!!

Oh no!
Yassss finally someone says it!!🙌🏾
4 seconds times 600 locks is 2400 seconds. Divided by 60, that is 40 minutes “extra”. The sisterlocks tool slows you down considerably so it may equal out.
Wow. Now. That's math! LOL
Online you can find that tool listed as a plastic darning needle

I’m so pressed but I bought your book and your mom and my mom name are the same. It’s so unique, I’m excited to see someone else with her name lol. Love this video as well.
No way Sis!! No one has that name!! LOL! Wait til I tell my mom!!. Awesome. Thank you for your support!! Much love!
Tunisia Ali hahahaha too funny. I met a flight attendant with that name too, some years ago. I’m excited about your book already, on the second page
The blue tool is called a Plastic Yarn Needle sis.
I have the same needles , got them from Amazon. Never used them but brought them in the beginning of the lock down.
I do not like the sisterlocks tool and since my locs are on the bigger side, I use the Easy Loc tool. I've had no issues with it for the past few years.
Its a yarn needle and they also have steel ones for about a dollar.
Thanks for sharing 🌸
Thanks for this video. I can't use the sisterlocks tool, it snatches my fine hair. And even the easy loc tool is too big for my sisterlocks and causes gaps.

Wow!! See! You know best and actually the decision not to Braid at night seems very logical. Good for you Sis!
I know right. It's crazy as hell--- all this secrecy nonsense.

Where'd you get the tool without having taken the training course?😯
Hahaha! Someone from the channel gifted this mysterious little tool to me. I thought it was hilarious because people act like this tool is secret heirloom deserving of protection with one's life. LOL!!
@@TunisiaAli 👀 can you tell your contact I want one? I'll pay, send me a PayPal link. 👀
Love you sister locs
*30 mins. that small needle is definitely worth it. lose mine all the time too lol
You mentioned theres a video on using the SL tool. I would like to see this can someone direct me to such.
Hey Sis! Double check what I said. Im not sure where I may not have been clear. I don't have a video as such. Where can I purchase your Manifestation book?
Amazon: search for , Manifesting Your Masterpiece by Tunisia Ali. Thank you!!
Yarn needle.
I don't like the Sisterlocks tool. I use the easy loc tool.
