Die Hard With a Vengeance is an even better sequel.
I saw this at a sneak preview the night before it officially opened. The whole theater was packed with fans of the first one, and we were having a good time watching.
It gets to the climax, the fuel is spilling out of the plane, McLane pulls out the lighter and says "Yippee-ki-yay" and the ENTIRE THEATER yelled "MOTHER@#$%ER".
I'm sure everyone in the lobby and maybe even in the nearby other theaters heard us.
If you like Die Hard, you should watch another action movie Bruce Willis did called The Last Boyscout. It has Daman Wayans in it and they have good chemistry. One of the gems of the 90's.
That movie is basically distilled essence of the 90’s, in the best way🤣

Yess. Part 4th it's really good, great fight scenes, and a bit of the edge with some scenes.
I grew up watching Bruce Willis. It's a shame he can't even talk anymore due to his health. It's hard to hear his voice without thinking of what he's going thru. You'll love the 3rd one. It has Samuel L. Jackson in it.
Bruce Willis can speak but his cognitive skills are affected and his memory among other things. His health continues to deteriorate

I wish they would've made a Die Hard 6 to redeem A Good Day To Die Hard before Bruce Willis's condition progressed. Bruce deserved to go out on a high, considering how great the other four Die Hard movies are.

Definitely watch the third one with Samuel L Jackson. And live free or die hard is the 4th one and a really good one. Would NOT recommend watching the last one with his son.

Yes that's Robert Patrick who played the T1000 in Terminator 2. He did Die Hard 2 the year before T2 came out.
And was John Doggett on X-Files / Double Dragon (Koga Shuko) / Dr. Greenbox on Swat Kats / Race Bannon on The Real Adventures of Jonny Quest / Darrell Grant (Striptease) / Reginald Cameron (Hong Kong 97) / a guest appearance on Hell's Kitchen, amongst many appearances.
Patrick also returned as T-1000 in BOTH Wayne's World & Last Action Hero!

It’s been a long time since I saw this movie cause whenever I wanna see a die hard movie, I only watch die hard w a vengeance. Sam Jackson is in it. The two of them together is a comedy/action treat! I can’t wait for you guys to watch that one.

Funny coincidence about the movie. December 6th is our independence day here in Finland and the director of this movie is Finnish. He always puts something from our country to the films he is working on, which in this case is our second national anthem called Finlandia

Yeah DH2 is better. Very rare for a sequel to be better. But the Hans was a cooler villain.

I love the Die Hard movies.
They are good, fun action movies and done in a way we don't see today, at least not in so much the same way.
It's one of those movies you can just sit down, watch, and not only enjoy some good action and an interesting story but have some laughs along the way.
Sadly, from what i understand, Bruce won't be making any more movies as i hear he's not well.
I can't remember what it is he has now but i believe it's something he can't recover from or be cured of.
I could be wrong though.

I remember watching this on CBS Sunday Night Movie in 2000, and the way they removed or dubbed the swearing is hilarious, especially when John McClane says, "Yippee Kay Yay Mr Falcon" Lol!! I'm like, "Who's Mr. Falcon?"
There are some movies you can't bother watching on network TV. I don't need or even appreciate a lot of cussing since it is usually gratuitous but it when you are battling terrorists it's fitting.
For once the dubbing makes sense. Falcon was the call sign of Esperanza when he took over the plane.

I hope you watch the rest of the Fire Hard series, but if you have to keep with the Christmas theme, the next one you watch has to be Lethal Weapon, another classic action movie.
The naked yoga exercises were filmed last. The actor wanted to make sure he was in shape for it. He was also in Shawshank Redemption

Fun Fact! The cop who is always getting in Jon's way is played by an actor named Dennis Franz who actually at the time played the nations favorite NY Cop on a show called NYPD Blue. He had the distinction of being able to say they first authorized use of the word shit on a television show.

BTW NYPD Blue came about 3 years later.

Besides being 3 years off. NYPD Blue was considered the first R rated tv show on NETWORK television. Cable tv series had swearing before 1993.
My first remembering of him was in Dressed to Kill. Michael Caine was scary!
His character in this movie was a lot like Andy Sipowicz. An amazing actor

The third Die Hard movie was my favorite and it is, yet again, unique. It is not set around Christmas so don't wait until next year to watch it.
Unfortunately, they lost the spark after the third movie. I don't know how many they've done (at least five) but I stopped watching after #4 - that one was a real disappointment.

One of the rare instances where the sequel is as good or better than the original! I admit that I haven't watched this as much as the first Die Hard, and it's been a long time since I last did, but I remember the gist of it. So thanks to my shoddy memory, I was "oooh"ing and "aaahh!"ing right along with you during the action scenes like it was my first time seeing it 😆 Some things certainly jogged my memory, like the icicle and the plane engine. What's funny is that I saw this movie when it came out in the theaters, and my mom took me! We were both big fans of the original. Oh and Asia you were right, that WAS the Terminator 2 guy! T2 came out the year after this.

Col. Stuart is William Sadler. He's one of my favorite actors. If you get a chance, check out Tales From The Crypt: Demon Knight. He's in that with Billy Zane and Jada Pinkett. Awesome movie.
John McClane is like a human Daffy Duck. Absurd stuff keeps happening to the man that should kill him. But he keeps going.
The third movie "With A Vengeance" is another good one. I thought it kept up the feel. McClane is actually on his home turf for a change. Also you don't have to wait till Christmas.
That is the guy who played the T-1000 in Terminator 2. Robert Patrick. Another underrated actor. Also did a stint on The X-Files when the main actors stepped away. Also enjoyed him in the series Scorpion.

Now y’all gotta finish the series, I just sat my fiancé through all 5 this past weekend.. she’s so behind too! She hasn’t even seen the matrix Or Indiana Jones!!! and because of me she’s seen goodfellas, Jurassic Park, jaws, back to the future, goonies, the mcu films, anchorman, American pie series, scream series, hacksaw ridge, deep water horizon and so much more! Lol
Among other things, the flame travelling fast enough to catch the plane bothers me ... for a lot of reasons but, 1 in particular. I know from my Automotive Technology days (used to be a mechanic), I'm not sure what the speed in mph that airplane fuel burns, but I do recall learning that gas burns in a straight line at a rate of 38 MPH. Now, for most of the stunt, you could argue that the plane wasn't travelling that fast ... I mean, John fell off it while it was moving and survived, so that would seem to confirm that. However, circumstances changed a heck of a lot when it began to "lift off" because that requires about 120 or so MPH, and I believe that airplane fuel burn is not only much harder to ignite (for obvious reasons), but I think it certainly burns slower than 120 MPH.
That's it ... I can suspend my "belief system" for all the other obvious "impossibilities", but that's my one gripe ... the thing I can't overlook.
Great movie. Another great Christmas movie just like Die Hard. You should also see It's A Wonderful Life the ultimate Christmas movie. Also you should also watch Die Hard 3 (Not a Christmas movie) and stop the other Die Hard movies are horrible. Of course you decide what you like all we do is warn you about the really really bad movies :) . In the Die Hard franchise they had a perfect run for years with first 3 movies but you cant always succeed. Die hard 4 was very bad and depressing and when you thought it was over but then somehow they succeed to make even a way way more bad movie in Die Hard 5 (which I don't even consider a Die Hard movie), Save you're self some time skip part 4 and 5. Also The General in Die Hard 2 comes from the same fictional country as the bad guy in this movie and also that fictional country is where Predator takes place so Commando, Die Hard and Predator all happen in the same universe :)
. Another underrated Christmas action movie is Reindeer Games with Ben Aflec and Charlize Theron.

The 80s was a whole different animal. The TSA didn't exist yet, and smoking in public was acceptable..just a number of things that were different :)

I started watching their fictitious spin off Breaking "Good." Good job Asia, that was Robert Patrick a year before T2. The captain and the other cop that towed his car away are stupid. Didn't care for them in this. Die Hard Trilogy for Playstation was a fun game.

The actor that played Colonel Stuart (blonde bad guy) was also in "The Shawshank Redemption" (one of the inmates, friend of Andy & Red) & in "The Green Mile" (father of the 2 girls). His name is William Sadler, a fine character actor who's been in a lot of movies.

Yes William Sadler was the inmate Heywood in The Shawshank Redemption and played the main villain Senator Vernon Trent a corrupt politician with mob ties who hires hit men to kill Steven Seagal’s character in Hard To Kill in 1990.
You used to be able to bring almost anything on a plane,I went on vacation with a friend (1983), who bought a sword for her brother. It didn’t fit in her luggage, so she brought it as carry on and they freakin let her! Imagine trying that shiit now. Also smoking everywhere, even on planes, I do not miss that.

I get swollen eyes too, Asia. My doctor told me in my case it's an allergy to dust. That doesn't mean your house has to be dirty. Dust is everywhere you go. Mine is particularly bad when folding clothing. Perhaps you could have something similar. Maybe try taking an antihistamine?

I just find the premise of all these planes being on standby to be a bit unrealistic, I mean this is Washington DC. Dulles airport that they are hijacking. There are plenty of other airports that they can divert traffic to if they had to, like Baltimore, MD. Richmond, VA, to name a couple that are not far away. That would be smarter than flying around waiting to run out of gas. But screw it, movie logic.
yea, Asia, that was the same guy who played in the Terminator. Mr. Trudeau, the airport manager, is Fred Dalton-Thompson, who went on to be a republican senator from Tennessee. red tape = live ammo, blue tape = blanks, no bullets

The fact I grew up watching Good Times, it was great seeing John Amos in another good movie after he did Coming To America with Eddie Murphy. Overall, this is a really good sequel.
Back in the day, when these movies came out, my friends an I used to joke that this is the only way McLean could "get some" from his wife!😁 Love watching these with you and seeing the excitement in your eyes. Can't wait for yuo to watch the next two. The 3rd especially is my favorite of the Die Hard Quadrilogy.
All the movies are good, though this one does force you to ignore all the aviation stuff if you know anything about it. Everything from the lockdown of radio communication, planes just sitting up there getting lower and lower on fuel rather than diverting to their alternates, or even the first crash where pilots just crash without ever seeing the runway isn't realistic. If a plane needs to divert it will, and pilots have minimums even on an ILS approach where they need to be able to see the runway.
Definitely should watch some Korean movies such great twists especially like train to Busan

PLEASE react to Runaway Train. It's a classic movie but I only see one reaction on TH-cam.
I've had me eye swell up a few times too for what seems like no reason. Sometimes it's the lid sometimes its under. I think it's happened like 3 times in the past 10 years, wierd and annoying also a little worrying but it always goes away as fast as it showed up.
It's also added better by default because they bring on previous characters, fun.
