Hi Grandma Deidre! You never cease to amaze me - always finding something new to teach me! I hope you're enjoying your summer with your family. I'm sure you are! Sending love from northeastern North Carolina. ❤
I did a similar technique in first grade, back in the sixties. We made leatherlike Native American dresses and pants. It was a wonderful learning experience even it wasn't quite the same as the real thing.
Thanks for sharing!
@@OurUpcycledLife You're welcome. Thank you for the memories!
I love this idea! Would make a great texture to my junk journals! Must try it soon!!!😍😍😍
Oh yes I remember using a similar technique to make wrapping paper. I also did a great paper where I added rose buds pieces from my roses.
I love your channel. May Jesus continue to bless you and your family
Thank you so much!
This is so fun. I do a similar technique using glycerine and brown kraft paper to make faux leather.
Yes so fun
Love the effect, looks super. I've an old one drawer dresser that needs a bit if colour on the drawer 🤔I wonder. Thank you another great technique.
You’re welcome 😊
This makes me think of the newspaper we used as toilet paper on the farm. Without olive oil we would scrunch up the newspaper to make it use able. Everything wad black when you were done. Lol. Thank the good lord we no longer have to live this way. This was more than 50 years ago.
Oh I bet black ink everywhere
This look like glass in a way. Have a wonderful day..
Thanks for watching
WOW i have to try olive oil I've never been able from what other artist do. Today's Quote: Be kind to yourself, it's the the best medicine to heal and grow." Huge hugs. Namaste 🐞🐞🐞
Thanks so much for watching. Glad you enjoyed.

You are so welcome!
Have you tried fabric softener? I wonder how that would work.
Now I know what to do with the set of Encyclopedia Britannica! I refer to it as my husband’s dowry when we got married. Before I meet him, when he was in college in the 70’s, he saved up to buy them. A great investment that we used a lot with the kids. But now I can’t bear to get rid of them.
Thank you!!
Glad to inspire
intriguing!
Fascinating. I just happen to have olive oil on hand, so I'll give it a try. Thanks!
Excellent

Could you use canola oil for this?
Worth a try
Would baby oil work? The only oils we use here are tallow, bacon fat, butter and lard and I don’t want them so smell that yummy lol.
Yes it probably will !
