    I love my SDX125 I am using it frequently now that I have watched your videos... Love the ability to cut out the images from our DSP and stamp sets... My customers love it too because they have an opportunity to purchase my cut outs and save them time. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. Another SU Demonstrator happy!

    Good morning from the UK😊 I’m really pleased you are putting this machine through some paces, I have the CM900 and only use maybe 2% of the features it can do so I know I won’t be updating. You use your machines very differently and I really enjoy watching you. This machine should be,in my opinion completely fault free at the price it sells for. Also I liked you little ‘first cut in the deepest’ snippet. 😊

    • @PaperedChef
      @PaperedChef  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Pam. I definitely have a whole set of things that I do with the machine that are not typical. So many people get the machine for cutting fabric and vinyl. I am a paper crafter but I dabble in other things. LOL. Sometimes I just break out into song. I can't help myself.

    My birthday is in September and I will have a new machine. So far so good. But I still cannot decide if I will go for the sdx model. So please keep those videos coming. My biggest hang up is the fact that I cannot use the mats of my cm900 model. And as I mainly cut out stamps and/or use it for scrapbooking I do not know if it is worth the expense.

    • @PaperedChef
      @PaperedChef  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I also get craft toys for my birthday. There are several considerations but the SDX125 does have additional capabilities and the ability to cut thicker materials so that is exciting. If your mat is the holdup, you can restick your mat. Here is a link. th-cam.com/video/58jX5JKEgzk/w-d-xo.html

    Do you now recommend the SDX125? I have a CM100 and would like to trade up, but the last video I saw you had a few issues. Now that the mat actually loads, are the other issues irrelevant?

    • @PaperedChef
      @PaperedChef  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sonja, I am going through the comments I missed and just found this. Sorry for not answering sooner. At this point in time, I am still recommending the CM350 over the SDX125 simply because it does a better job with scanning and cutting my stamped images. That is what I do the most. If you cut fabric, vinyl, and thicker materials, go with the SDX125 because it will make your life easier with the autoblade and speed. I love using the SDX for cutting the build in patterns and cutting my projects from Brother Canvas Workspace. Here are my links for when you are ready to take the plunge.

    Hi, question for you. I have an SDX125 machine. Using whisper white cardstock, I tried to cut out some images. The machine cut around the image but did not cut thru the paper. Isn’t this machine supposed to automatically adjust to the paper thickness? Thanks for your help.

    Great videos as always. Could you help as I have followed all your tutorials and I have just bought a scan cm 900 but it’s not cutting what am I doing wrong? I have taken all the blue sticky tape off set the blade just don’t know what is wrong why it isn’t cutting

    • @PaperedChef
      @PaperedChef  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      And I thought I had issues. My machine cuts if not perfectly. OK, I think I can help. I think the blade may not be in the holder properly. First, unscrew the blade holder and then screw it back together. Then, take the blade holder out and install it again so that the latch is tight. Then, look for tape. There was light blue tape everywhere. I even had to take it off of the tray in the back of the machine. I set my lever to one. See if you can do a test cut or just cut out a built in shape.

  • @michaelc6553
    @michaelc6553 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Another great video thanks. But how do I cut along the black lines without getting any white ? And if I place a piece of small material in the center of the mat where or when does the blade start to use its auto blade technology because sometimes I see the blade on the right sometimes starts in the middle or left corner. Thanks and keep making these helpful videos

    • @PaperedChef
      @PaperedChef  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Michael! To cut right along the black lines, you would do everything I did except that you would NOT add an outline distance. Zero outline distance is a cut along the black line. From my observation, it cuts first along the top left of the mat as a baseline. Then, it goes down to the area right next to where it needs to cut and measures that depth. Then, it knows how deep to cut.

    • @michaelc6553
      @michaelc6553 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Papered Chef thank you. Does this option work for scan to cut option? For some reason the direct cut cannot see the middle outline of the letter A and only detects the outside.

    • @PaperedChef
      @PaperedChef  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@michaelc6553 Scan to Cut Data is the only way you can cut the INSIDE of your stamped images. The downside is not being after to do the offset or outline distance but it sounds like you don't want to anyway.

      Well I traveled around the world with the ScanNCut 2 or CM350 bouncing around in my luggage. Then, I plugged it in and it cut. So, if they built a machine which is this sensitive, that is just wrong. But, thanks for telling me what they said. I just moved it a couple of inches to get a better camera angle. Crafters move things. That is what we do.

    • @PaperedChef
      @PaperedChef  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@babamoosie I know Susan. If that small amount of movement causes misalignment each time then there is no way they tested this machine on REAL crafters. We move things. That is how we roll. I hope I can get to the bottom of this and I will share what I find out.
