I'm primarily a AX3 player, but I've had a D20 for some time now and I love it. I have an EVH 5150 III head that I rarely turn on. When I jones for real amp feels or want to monkey around with all my pedals the D20 is killer. Highly recommended!
One thing that isn't immediately apparent is that you can run the Torpedo IR out of the XLR *at the same time* you're plugged into a cab with the speaker output. I have a 2x12 cabinet I made that I run the speaker output into at the same time I have the Cab IR with a totally different cab setup to the board. Can't say enough about how much I like the D20
Ive been running a cab m+ with a capture 8 on my modded blues jr for years now and i LOVE IT. i dont use cabs anymore. ive gunna have a mig 50 reissue coming soon and ill be doing the two notes stuff with it as well. no cab needed!!!
Really want to try one of these! Modelers are great, but there is something about the way a real amp swallows up effects running straight into it that I don't think they have fully captured yet.
To us, that's the biggest difference. You can make a capture/profile/tone match/etc sound just like an amp - to the point where if you A/B the digital version with the mic'd amp, it's impossible to tell the difference. But when you start running effects into them, that's where the amp still sounds different (and better) than the digital stuff. It's getting very, very close, though.
I've been playing a 60W SuperSonic that's mic'd in an Isocab off stage and DI'd to the house. I can't imagine playing another way, though I'm sure I could adapt. I had to bring in my 15W Blues Jr. when the SS was getting some work done and while serviceable, it was a noticeable difference in the fullness 60W of pushed air makes. The Revv's sound great!
Why do you use an isocab? Do you use the amps distortion? A lot of people have problem with the volume of tube amps, but I feel that a lot of amps can sound killer in lower volume settings, the Blues Junior being a stellar example of this. If you play clean to cleanish, that is
Love this one guys! I agree amps all the way! I use a D20 in Stereo with a Suhr PT15 IR for most occasions live and recording. You guys should get that Suhr as well!
If I had the money, I could see myself using this instead of hauling my Mesa Mark V back and forth. You guys make that sound sooo good. IDK if I could make it sound that good. Nothing about this made me think you were paid to say nice things.
Hey guys, so I’m a Helix user and have been using your presets at both church and at gigs with my cover band, but I’ve been looking at setting up an analog board and an amp. Have been considering a Fender 65 DRRI and the D20 and D25. Curious which one you guys would go with? Honestly I think for me it’s between the D25 or the Fender just for simplicity of not having to carry the head and a cab to gigs. Would love your feedback. Thanks
These remind me of what Line6 was trying to do with the DT25 and 50 back in the day with Line 6 hybrid modeling combined with a true Bogner designed tube amp. Super curious about this as my stereo rig can get pretty loud on a Sunday morning. I’m running a Paul Reed Smith Two Channel Custom 20 on one side and a Tyler Amp Work HM-30 on the other. We’re in a large space but noise is always an issue
Here’s a request, since this has an option to go direct out using loaded IR’s, would you be willing to capture the amp pre speaker? I know you don’t do that with your tone match/captures typically using the OX box because I know you’ve said in a video(can’t recall which) that it just doesn’t work as well as capturing the speaker. But I feel this amp is different, if you could capture the amp with the capture tech pedals (I use QC) that would be soooo cool. I am considering buying a D20 for myself, but would love to try it out!
Very tough to describe. However, the word you're looking for is "Wapoosh". *Wapoosh:* waah-pooSH _verb_ an imperceptible and mostly inaudible feeling ascribed to the bloom of a musical note, primarily in tube/valve amplifier circuits. _"John Mayer doesn't like modelers because they can't yet produce the proper 'wapoosh'."_ 😁
My opinion ist there ist noch need for an Amp like this. The concept is perfect. But why buying a new amp? Take your beloved amp and get the Captor X. DONE!
Do you mean that black/gray cab at 21 mins (playing sample 4)? That is actually a cab from Mojotone, so I’m not sure Revv offers something like that. We just had it in there so the D20 had something to sit on. But it is similar to the tolex on my back/white D25.

I feel that the whole XLR out thing with IRs defeats the purpose of a tube amp. The magic of tube amps lies in the microphone in using the speaker (maybe with a microphone front of the amp to go to foh). If I have to use IRS I might as well play with a modeller for convenience, and they also sound good
Sort of... speaker and mic are part of the magic, but a lot is in how the tubes generate harmonics when overdriven. By nature, analog "sparkle" is completely random and digital modellers, by nature, can NEVER be random. Also, the way a tube preamp responds to input doesn't quite feel organic in the modellers. This said, no one will be able to tell the difference, but I sure can feel it (I have a Helix-based board and an "analog" setup). The only reason I use my Helix board is the last point you made: When I'm too lazy to bring and setup the amps! Lol

Love my d20 and d25. So awesome. Now hopefully they come out with a voxy version

John Mayer used an FM9 live when he played with Ed Sheeran though 😢
Absolutely. Put my.AC15 at the back of the church on the lowest setting and still the keys player complains 😂
😅
Keys have to go-
Nice gold pickguard upgrade on the MJT. Where'd you get it?
I've been saying for so long, the future is not digital, it's hybrid. Heck tonight I'm playing a conference using my Marshall 1987 and a Captor X.
You better crank that Marshall uppppppp
Can you use this with quad cortex?
You got Ricky Squire? Holy crap!
Can you use a XLR splitter to run a “dual mono” esc setup direct?
For the d20 you need a cabinet to hear it?
Can you use a XLR Splitter to run dual mono on the D20?
Ive watched many videos on these amps and Ive yet to hear one of these D20s sound good with drive or distortion pedals. They sound thin and anemic.
The Revv D20 Torpedo IR Format is 20ms, 40ms, and 100ms. Does this means I can't use the Worshipt Tutorial IRs?
You can use them. The Two Notes hardware will just shorten them.
@@worshiptutorialsawesome. I’m going to buy all of them. 🎉

Okay.. this is all great... but that cabinet starting at 20 minutes..... where does one get that... also the D25... isn't in that tolexxxxxxx :(

The Tolex on the Mojotone cab is called Blackened Tuna, we can get it, we just don't offer it as a stock option in our online designer.
Would it be possible to y’all’s opinion on which is better, the Kemper stage or quad cortex. Thanks!

“Made from far east”😂 just say made in China
Nope
I prefer an Actual Tube Amp
This is a tube amp! You are in luck!
@@worshiptutorials I was agreeing with your statement about tube amps 👍🤙✌️
