Hopefully this video is useful for anyone who attemps to change Aprilia Shiver headlight bulbs. The bike uses two H7 bulbs; one for low beam and another one for high beam. By the way if anyone is curious, the small lights at the side of headlight use T10 bulbs.

Hi,I had to change my headlights today and this video was perfect. I do have a Shiver 900, but it is exactly the same procedure. There are some little attention points when disassembling, which are not shown in the Video, but easily solvable. So thanks for sharing.In Germany you can find those bulbs at any gas Station.

I'm wondering if it's legal to use HID light on Shiver due to the glaring. Perhaps colour temp up to 4000K should be fine but this is just my opinion. ☺
+DesertGoon I have 5000k, but I heard angling the headlight down a bit cuts the blinding effect
Cool if that angle works. 5000K would be a bit problematic for visibility during rain at night.
Question. I have a broken bulb too on a shiver 900. I think the frontlight is exactly the same. What bulb did you use exactly?
Hello... Shiver 750 uses H7 bulbs which require separate bulbs for high and low beams. If you believe 750 and 900 models use the same headlight/bulbs then you can find a H7 bulb to replace your broken one.
Hey I don’t have a low beam that has those prongs to plug in- it’s a weird one that seems to be a single piece. Got it apart and there’s just two stuff wires coming from the bottom of the bulb.
The new bulb I picked up has regular outlet prongs. Do you know, how do I fix it?

Q: I find in the service manual and other places that it uses H4 bulbs. Did you encountered this info too?
Roy, if the headlight is the same as the one in this video which has a separate high and low beams (ie. two segments) then it can't possibly use a H4 bulb. If you notice, H4 has both high and low filaments on the same bulb but Shiver headlight has two sockets for high and low bulbs.
You are correct naturally, however this is what the service manual of the Aprilia Shiver service manual indicates. Go figure. It will work, however with H4 even though it has both high and low on each. only thing I can think of that will be a plus for this is that the low can be replaced by the high in case of on road failure.

Have you changed the parking light bulb? I am not sure how to get it out? I took the rubber seal off but couldn't reach anything with my fingers that would come out easily. Cheers
Brendon Redmond Are you referring to the small lights on the side of headlight? If those are the ones then yes. I replaced the two T10 bulbs with Osram LED bulbs. 👍 You may follow the dismantling steps in the video then remove the rubber seal and take out the bulb by pulling the wires. Detach the bulb and re-attach new one (with correct polarity) and push it back into the slot using the wires. ✌☺

Hi Matt. It's H7 bulb which you can buy from any car accessory shops or online sellers.

Hi Michael. The two small lights at the side of headlight use T10 bulbs. You can use the T10 LED bulbs which are bright and nice. I'm using Osram T10 LEDs.

And what about the wattage and volt ? do I need a canbus as well?
Any cheap T10 LED bulbs sold on eBay can be used (no need to get a canbus or worry about wattage/volt) but they might not last long. The Osram T10 LED bulbs I'm using now are a bit costly but they've been holding up very well so I would suggest you get decent bulbs.
