I dont own a horse, im here because I Love this man. His kindness, his warmth, his passion, even his pain.... no it's not his pain, it's his empathy. I am here for it. I hope you've taught a few young men in your day, how to be like you.
Love and peace be with you

@@justme-fw2ti I think your device may be the problem because sound is well when I listen, even when it's windy. Believe me, I have sound problems too when nobody else does. They use sub apps when you don't know, and those sub apps take control of your audio, and other apps. Frankly, I consider it Cyber CRIME #NoTrespassing - the Technocrats invade our circles! I will look for a useful channel I recently learned about. They tell you what to turn off, etc to get them off your back. I will post another comment here WHEN I find it. I hope I find it.

Compliments to her owner she looks very well, if anyone can Steve can. When i was 14 i rescued an abandoned pony he was bag of bones, i slowly built him up, secretly trespassing to feed him before owner of land was awake and id return in the nightime. Over 2 years i was called the bucket girl as id walk 4 miles twice a day to this pony. After 2 years and shot at once by the farme. My parents approached the farmer and eventually bought this gelding whom i built up, he was a crib bitter & windsucker but i had 8 amazing years with him. Id do it again at 51. He was my best friend and he would never let anyone else ride him, we won lots at small horse shows, later revealing his abillity in dressage. I still have photos if him around my home after all these years of him passing of cancer, he was so loved, i use to camp out with him in the barn in summer holidays, wonderful years if my life.
I love you guys watching from west sussex ❤❤❤

I used to ride as a teen ager in Goteborg, Sweden. Now I am a 76 year old grandmother living in Rhode Island since many, many years. I don't have any horses and I don't ride still I LOVE watching Steve and his family how they work together and the brilliant ways Steve trains horses. It often brings tears to my eyes when a horse suddenly understands that Steve is his friend and trusts that he will be safe. You have opened my eyes so much as to how horses think and when you understand that on a deeper level I can just feel through Steve's videos how very spiritual it is to work and understand horses, however, it takes very special people to understand that. Steve and his wonderful family are just that.

So sorry that someone had taken a well trained horse and taught her to become a reactive and possibly dangerous horse. It's good that you took the time to get her back to where she could trust a human again. I learned a long time ago there are a lot of horse owners, but very few horsemen that just have a gift.

If you leave your mind open to learning, anything is possible!! Talk to any older horse person, we don't mind questions!!! If you don't know something ask! But NEVER STOP LEARNING!! I'd love to have another lifetime to continue learning even more than what I do now. If you really want to learn, and you ask someone the question, LISTEN! And always remember this if nothing else, What works for one horse may not work for another. That's why you have to keep yourself open to learning!! Just my thoughts on that. Stay Safe Everyone!! "Discipline" is a bad word these days. But we all have to have discipline. Discipline to get up in the morning, have a shower, get dressed, go to work, come home, have dinner, watch a bit of telly and go to bed. And do it again the next day. It's the same with dogs and horses. They need to have a set of "rules" to follow. Or you have a horse that ends up like Willow. I'm working with a Standardbred Pacer who was beaten badly for breaking into the trot. He was really bad at first. The owner wants him as a riding horse, and that's what I've been working on with him. Showing him that he's not going to be beaten for going to the trot. He's doing well now. After 5 long months of foundation work and riding work. 💖 💖 Stay Safe Everyone!! From Ontario, Canada, Jenn. 💖 💖 🇨🇦 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟

My very last horse was a Standardbred as well. After about 6 months i could ride her western without the gait and also gaited under hunt seat. She was a beautiful creme colored mare; she wore 2 identical eye shaped red patches on either side of her rump lol. I miss her she was so lovely🐎💛🐎💛! You could literally have tea in the finest china on her gait and not spill a drop. She moved so beautifully I miss her.

@wakingohiomama 91 She sounds like she was an amazing girl. I'm so sorry for your loss. This guy though, he's doing great!! Even going on hacks with his owner now. He will trot out willingly, but you still have to use light contact with him. Any type of heavy contact on his mouth, and his head goes up like he's checked up and he panics like crazy. But if you stay with very quiet hands, he goes like a dream!!

I live in Bozeman, MT, USA on 20 acres along a world class fishing river, which would be perfect for a horse. Beautiful work. The art of natural horsemanship. So good to watch all you do and how you manage to metaphorically carry the horse and the person you are showing and teaching along together with you...just poetry in motion and I love it.

Your videos are so much fun. I don’t own a horse but I’m binge watching from Colorado. Unrequested forward motion is a universal life lesson. Carry on.

Best explanation of horse language and thought that I have seen you do just yet. Imperative that we know their ways before we inflict our ways upon them.

Steve Young is a true horse whisperer. I've learned so much from his videos. Poor Willow was so scared in the beginning. Willow is a beautiful horse!! What a gifted horse trainer.

I took in a 6 mo old Paso Fino filly who was petrified of everything. She had NEVER been worked with and from a field. She was scared of everything. I put her in a stall in a barn and everyday I went to feed her, I took a transistor radio and a book. I would sit outside the stall, play soft music and read out loud forgot an hour or so while she was eating. Didn't take her long to look forward to my daily visits, and she would whinny when I came in the barn. I cleaned her stall with her in it, just talking all the time and she would get a little closer each time to me. I let her investigate me. She was scared, but never tried to hurt me. She came to trust me in a short period of time, and looked at me as her mama. The trust grew and grew as time passed, and years later when I first sat on her back, she turned around, saw it was me, and off we went. Trust is EVERYTHING. I adored her and was heartbroken when I had to let her go. Best horse ever!!! I still miss her every day.

Goodness! With this case Steve's tremendous patience came very much to the fore again! It really is so much about patience and having the mental stamina to do something over and over again until the horse gives up this battle of wills. And I believe most people haven't got that patience, which is too often why horses get messed up in the first place and then remain messed up for often far too long. Great work, Steve!
