- OMG! We are SOOO EXCITED to release this video to you all. We never EVER thought this story would continue like this, but we were SO WRONG lol. After leaving the National Clydesdale Sale empty handed, coming home so bummed out that we didn't get a horse, we had an unexpected call from the association asking if we would still want Nattie! The winning bidders backed out and we were the next bidders in line for her. Of course we said YES! And Nattie is now here! At HOMESTEAD HORSEMANSHIP!!!!!
We made it to the 2024 National Clydesdale Sale!!! This is a 3 day affair. Thursday, Friday, Saturday. This video is Saturday, AUCTION DAY! And man, we are excited! There are so many beautiful horses but we have eyes set on a few special ones and we really feel like Nattie will be coming home with us. But Jasmine is absolutely perfect, the right size, color, age, temperament = she is bred and will have a foal! Lucinda, Rose and Peaches and SO MANY MORE are up there on our list as well though!!! The last five years have been very difficult on my faith. I lost both my mom and my dad and I also lost one of my brothers. My husband and I were finally able to purchase a home, and then we both lost our jobs. It seems to me that people are just getting more rude and mean than they ever have been before. It has been one blow after another.
I didn’t expect that my faith would be renewed by a small family in Missouri that have horses. Y’all’s story today on how you got Nattie was truly astounding to me. I have been aware of your families faith in God and it is amazing to see that he provided for you all like he did. It's very difficult when we experience great losses. It does test our faith, but holding on to God and His love will always see us through those dark times. This family and their journey is an inspiration to us all!

I dont usually write comments to people i have never met, but this video totally touched my heart and faith. I started watching you guys just before you got Oliver and loved his story, your work, your family and spirituality. Ive been going trough a hard time physically myself, trouble walking. This channel has helped me to never give up and always hold on to hope and love. When you first showed Nattie to us, i thought this is another "Oliver" story. You need this horse, Oliver needs her and most importantly she needs you all. I was so disappointed that the sale didn't work. However, as i went to bed, i knew that you would eventually get her, much like how you ended up getting Oliver. Or maybe you would be led by the "higher power" to another filly in greater need. The first thing this morning, I went to your channel and saw you bring Nattie home. I cried and thanked God for making this happen. It was the best start to my day and gave me a ton of hope and blessings. Thank you so much for posting "Nattie's Story". 13:23 I really needed this and can't wait to see your future adventures with her and Oliver. Have you ever thought that this would make a great and inspiring movie? Definitely a docudrama because a stoty this beautiful could not be made up! I was disappointed yesterday when you didn't get the winning bid because I felt deep down that her home is with Homestead Horsemanship. I'm overjoyed she is going where I felt she was meant to be! As I read and agreed with what you wrote. A thought came to me that God sees all, how many of us follow this page, how many of us went to the auction, how many of us met Nattie and fell in love with her story. How many sat on the edge of our seats as she entered the ring, excitement for the bidding and in a blink of an eye the excitement turned to disappointment. God saw and felt all of us. Heard us praying right along with JR and his family. I was taught "wWhen 2 or more are gathered in my name. There is Love." but also prayers are heard. So excited for all of you especially Becca. Never lose faith, every time you doubt get discouraged , get angry with someone. Think of Nattie and her miracle story. I know I will.

God will forgive you that little white lie, JR!! It was for an amazing reason!! What a great reason!! A way that you can estimate her height, which is an old way of estimating height, is take a hay string, put it on the back of her elbow down to the middle of her fetlock. Then, leaving the string on the elbow, flip the string up, and that will give you the estimated height that the horse will finish out at. You can do this with any horse after they are 11 months old. Just a suggestion for you to see how it was done before they had measuring sticks!! I learned this from my grandfather who learned it from his father. Who had a team of Clydesdales that were used on the farm for plowing and harvesting in summer and fall, and wood gathering in the winter. My son is living in a tent although he works full time just no place available to rent due to airbnb and folks leaving farmhouses to rot rather than rent them out. He was attacked in the middle of the night by a bunch of teenagers looking for “fun” and now he is terrified but doesn’t want to lose his job. So many people are struggling for someone or something. I just can't understand preventatively docking tails on one hand I kind of understand in actively working animals, that they are trying to prevent injuries but how many animals with full length tails actually acquire injuries when doing this work. If they get hurt later on and docking is one of the best ways to handle that injury then go wild your helping an injured animal but before theirs even been an injury? That makes no sense to me.
