Agree with you on books opening a person to new ideas. Exposing oneself to new or different perspectives is a great way to understand others. Especially if it’s someone you might not initially agree with.
Have all your family moved to NZ with you? Can't wait to see what you do with your grandson, what a treat! Loved what you did with this tag, I had a blast doing this one, so was really excited to see what you might do with it. I'm more of an Aristotle man than Plato, all that Idealism nonsense bores me, but gosh, I adore Aristotle. Oh, & Virginia Woolf, I love Modernism - all that gleaming stream-of-consciousness. I really like both Woolfs.
My wife and two kids back in 2007. My first grandchild is now 5 [he who will do the cooking with me] and a girl now aged 1. Thanks for the feedback. I too like Aristotle, and hope to do the Nicomachean Ethics. I use stream of consciousness copiously in my own writings, so love that too! Best.
Thanks for tagging me! I have to admit, I haven't read any of the books you mentioned. I'm also trying to read more plays, and The Madness of King George sounds really interesting.
What a great tag and such fascinating answers, Mark. ☺️ I was especially interested to hear how your experience of injustice brought you to reading philosophy. Funny where situations like this can lead us. What a wonderful idea to have a 'ramble' while out and about. It would be lovely to see the sights of New Zealand. What a stunning country! ☺️ I'm looking forward to seeing what you and your Grandson cook up. I'm sure it'll be delicious! ☺️
Lovely thoughts as always! I certainly welcome more of the outside vlog ramblings. I haven't read The Republic in a few years now but I am finally reading up on Aristotle more for a class which has been informative at least. Thank you for the tag, I'll have it out next week some time!
Welcome! I'd love to know if you watch - please, leave a comment!

Yes. I think it was Twain who said - 'if there is someone you don't like, that's the person you need to get to know.' Same with books, I guess!
"Woman At Point Zero" sound riveting.
It is... a very powerful, understated read. Definitely worth the effort.

Lol. Thanks. As to the cooking... well, I have eight fingers and ten thumbs so I pity the grandson. I hope he doesn't notice!
You may surprise yourself and create something wonderful. I'm sure your Grandson will just be happy doing something fun with his Grandad. 😃
@@zoenorman9846 I've done it now... working on the edit. Be forewarned.
