AT 1.26 you passed the exit for my father's home town of Oratino, you might like to visit this very small hill top town. That large rock outcropping to the left is called "la Rocca". My Grandfather was a Stone Mason at that Cathedral during it's construction. Castelpetroso. You are near the Biferno Hydro Power plant that my Great uncle used to operate and live at. We stayed with him during our visit in 1976.
Wow, what a gorgeous town.....has the right amount of people and shops. I could see myself living there! Thanks guys for taking us on these lovely, interesting journeys .....didnt know this town existed!!
Hi Fiorella. As mentioned in my long (sorry) comment, please please try to visit and film some of the annual international jazz festival in Monteroduni - 7km from Isernia. It’s soooo cool-performances from top US, European musicians. Performances are outdoors for everyone but in the Castello Pignatelli over 3 nights end of July. Nearly 500 metres altitude but 5 mins drive up from the main road, so has stunning views, especially at night. I’m sorry to miss it this year. I love your videos on Molise so thank you. Carmel xx
Venafro looks lovely! Thanks for the tour. How is the highway out that way? We have only been as far as Agnone, but this time we are flying into Napoli instead of Rome so we will come very near to Venafro on the way to Liscia.
From where we drove from there were bits of freeway but quite a bit of single roads. Many roads had lower speed limits so that made the trip a little long. It didn't feel as comfortable as the drive to Agnone but that wouldn't stop us from going back to Venafro and staying longer 😉
It’s a pity you missed France’s World War 2 graveyard just outside Venafro. It’s beautiful - nearly 3,500 French soldiers sadly buried there and the area is kept and managed by the French government. Of course if near there it’s worth visiting the astonishing Montecassino abbey overlooking Cassino town, abbey was bombed during the war-you literally drive up to the sky to visit it, in immaculate condition and huge - for me the highlight of any visit and many tourists - 40 min drive from there. Venafro is so handy for its train - every 4 hours to Rome, wonderful train and cheap. Such charming, historical villages around eastern Molise - best kept secret. Thank you for showing this side. International jazz festival on last 3 days of July - 8/10 min drive to beautiful hilltop town of Monteroduni, outside their castle. Serious jazz musicians from US, Europe etc. well worth a visit. Xx
Hi Carmel. Thanks for all this info. We saw the graveyard as we drove in. It was sad, yet somehow beautiful. I don't think we can go to the festival you mention this year, what a pity. We have a lot on our plate right now and Aden is not feeling great, so we have to keep it local while we get through this period. Do you follow me on my personal channel? I try to do more everyday/ personal content there 👇 youtube.com/@FiorellaInItaly Thanks again for your thorough comments and tips 🤗
Ciao. Si, we did. Thanks for asking. I made a vlog about it on my other channel which has more everyday/personal content. You can watch it here 👇 th-cam.com/video/3Lu1lLnB5gk/w-d-xo.html Thanks for watching 🤗
Just putting this out - I've been to Italy many times - not so much the south though. Do you feel those who know this area that as an American - not Italian at all - Irish actually - that me and my wife (also not Italian) would be welcome living there? Would you consider Molise safe for an American? Forgive my apprehension - growing up in the Bronx I sit on a steak knife at all my family events.
Hi, yes the Gargano is a gorgeous area. It's closer to the Basso Molise than where this video was taken. On my personal channel, I made a couple of videos about our recent trip to the Gragano area a few weeks ago. You can watch them here 👇 Part 1. th-cam.com/video/hw34Q_xaB0Y/w-d-xo.html Part 2. th-cam.com/video/-qBhe8fY-R8/w-d-xo.html
Hi Mercy. With this size, there should be schools and doctors. Probably the nearest biggest hospital might be in Isernia which is not far. I do not know about any international community as we didn't spend much time there.
In Australia we speak British English, and the word means small but cozy. In Australia though, people also use the word to have the meaning you mentioned. I guess it's all about context when you watch YT as both content creators and viewers are from all over the world!
That santuary is very famous for miracles that supposedly took place there before it was built to mark the spots.
Venafro and the surrounding area was beautiful! I love these day trip videos! That church toward the end of the video was unique and gorgeous!

I'm really enjoying the visits to the surounding areas! Thanks for the trip!
Grazie mille per queste immagini stupende.😎😎

This was fun to watch! I'm in the states and I have family in Molise. They live in a tiny town that I visited 4 years ago. Going back soon!
The train line from Isernia to Napoli runs through some beautiful countryside. Particularly the section to Venafro. I recommend it.
Awesome. Thanks Robert!

Buon natale ameci!
🎉THANK YOU 🎉
I was just there today. Very lovely town.
I can imagine an American falling on an uneven cobble and yelling who do I sue. Lol
You need to come up with a different profession
That's so funny. In Australia we call it 'compo', and every time I trip (which is often), we say 'compo, compo' 🤣
❤❤ MOLISE ❤❤
Beautiful
Best vlog yet, calamari is my favorite. It is impossible to find authentic Calamare outside of Italy.
Aden made a pretty good Calamari back in OZ 😉
Wow!
Oh, this is the kind of place I am looking for but I want it to be closer to the Adria.
👍
Beautiful 🌹
The word is Homey, (cozy) not homely, meaning ugly. Love your videos!
Thanks Pam. In Australia, England and South Africa Homely means cozy

A beautiful town indeed! Are there communities of Blacks and Asian people. Schools and hospitals around?
Hi Mercy. With this size, there should be schools and doctors. Probably the nearest biggest hospital might be in Isernia which is not far.
I do not know about any international community as we didn't spend much time there.
My father was born in Molise
Guys, love the channel but do not put lemon on arrosticini!!! Need to invite you over here... :)
LOL, the heart wants what the heart wants 🤣
Hello l m from ın turkey
Hello. Thank you for watching from Turkey.
Aden and I drink our black tea in a glass, like you do in Turkey ❤️

You do realize the word Homely means unattractive in North America 😢
