I just don't understand why people don't like happy looking cars!!, I love the mazda smiley face, I just got the Mazda 5, and the greatest thing I love about it is it's happy face! :D
This guy really needs to test drive the standard shift model. The short throw shifter Mazda provides is amazingly smooth, fast and extremely Honda CIvic Si like. Even though the automatic is pretty decent, the fun to drive factor really comes alive with the stick shift model.
Been driving my 2012 Mazda 2 for almost 3 years, before hand it was my brothers for 3 years. It received a rear collision when he owned it and needed pretty intense repairs and you would ever tell. This car is like driving a go-kart!
I'm 43, and I think the music is just fine. Matter of fact, I like it quite a bit. It reminds me of "Runnin down a dream" by Tom Petty, which seems quite fitting for introducing new vehicles many of us can only dream of owning. Please don't change it too soon. lotprocars is a top notch TH-cam/auto review channel.
I have the 2012 sport model with a manual transmission. Its very fun to drive and very good on gas. A full tank lasts me a week. The only thing i dont like is that there is no arm rest
Nice Review. Thanks. I'm planning to purchase one soon as Mazda has really excellent deals now. I understand the manual is much better. But...in the congestion of California's urban areas, shifting really gets old in 1hr+ jam ups. This car in many ways is more fun than a Mini with way less cost and more reliability.
You hit the nail on the head (though the music track is indeed licensed). Our production team looks for fitting music that doesn't detract from the focus of the video. In the case of our new car reviews, modern/energetic music is very fitting, and we've got almost all positive feedback on it. This comment thread contains the only negative feedback we've ever gotten regarding the soundtrack. We definitely appreciate all feedback, but there are no plans to incorporate classical music anytime soon.
Nice info comparison with the Fiesta. I'd rather sacrifice trunk space for interior space any day since that's where you will pretty much live every day. For that reason among many others, the Mazda2 wins.
Actually the music didn't bother me at all. It actually made the video more interesting to watch considering how interesting it already is since it's information about the car.
Thank you for your opinions. Our production team will consider your idea of creating a consumer automotive review video with a classical music soundtrack.
This new offering from Mazda does have many cool features but im a little concerned about reserve power compared to my current driver, a 1969 Mach 1. Perhaps a test drive will ease my suspicions.
I got a 2011 model Sport with the 5-speed...and it is great and on the highway getting about 38-40mpg....and 33-35 in town........and why does he keep saying.."Mazda Mazda 2"....It is a Mazda 2....like a Mazda 3.....
i agree with the man.each time i watch a video of you guys i hear the same thing or similiar to it.a little bit of change would help.and good video btw keep it up.
As long as you reduce the volume of whatever music you use to nearly inaudible levels during the main body of the review, when the reviewer is speaking, as you did in this video, then no problem. I'm here for car information, not music.
Right, so you have the 1.5L engine with auto. Certainly that will chew more fuel than the 1.3 with manual transmission. But 200 what? Kms or miles? What does your country use to measure distance and speed on the roads?
I'm a classical music fan. But I'm not sure I want my classical favorites debased by being used in videos having nothing to do with the music per se. Just my two cents worth as another consumer with a different take on the music.
very funky car i do want one. could sell up my alfa romeo and won't be buying from a dealer though.... maybe in red or the green if i really just wanted to splurge. by the way the standard 2 has usb function no bluetooth and that was actually a question i had when we were out today.
I was wondering about that too. But apparently you're right! That said, it does tend to sound a bit like "The La Brea Tar Pits," which if you translate the Spanish part into English, equals "The the tar tar pits." LOL.
The review is quite good and informative. What a pity the producer insisted on putting a lousy and inferior rock music track in the background ruining it. Why do these people have such bad taste? I am fed up with this habitual practice.
I didn't think I was this shallow, but I can't get past the Mazda Mazda Smiley Face on all the new Mazda Mazdas. I just couldn't buy one of these. Oh, and I want USB USB, too.
Calm down man, I saw on your chanel that you are from Congo, I don't know if there is a sedan version of the mazda 2 in Africa, I was talking for North America. Don't need to get all on your nerves for a simple misunderstanding -_-
@lotprocars - YOU DO NICE, INFORMATIVE AND INTERESTING REVIEWS (LIKE THIS ONE). WHO CARES WHAT MUSIC IS IN THE BACKGROUND? YOU HAVE THE MUSIC AT A NICE, LOW LEVEL THAT DOESN'T CONFLICT WITH THE NARRATION, WHICH IS THE IMPORTANT THING. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK, WE APPRECIATE IT. THERE WILL ALWAYS BE MORONS WHO HAVE NOTHING BETTER TO DO THAN NIT-PIC AND COMPLAIN, SO JUST IGNORE THEM AND CARRY ON---THANKS!
why do they continue with the smiley face when so many people don't like it. my son looked at the 3 and bought an imprezza instead because of the smile ..
You must be driving it wayyy too hard. I can easily get 320 to 340 miles (~500 to 550Kms) on a tank based on short rush hour journeys. Bare in mind though, the fuel gauge in the Mazda2 isn't the greatest. When mine registers empty, I actually have about 8 to 10 litres left in the tank. I've seen myself get 650Km on longer runs which is very respectable (although still not as good as what the Toyota Yaris can achieve).
I have owned a series 2 Mazda2 which preceded this one, for 7 years. It's a serious little roomy car that can take 4 adults with luggage and the seats fold down so you can put two mountain bikes in the back. The new model is just a silly silly little girly racer. My next car will be a Honda Jazz or similar, not a little girly bit of fluff. Bad move Mazda.
I wish you would not jump to the conclusion that everyone like the same music as you do. they don't! Remember, there are many middle-aged and mature people in your market range who do not like rock music. these people would prefer something pleasant, more middle of the road. there are millions of music tracks which would be better than the one you used in your advertisement. Have you heard of Mozart, Tchaikowsky, Rossini, Henry Mancini, Gershwin, etc., etc.
lets review the mazda mazda mazda mazda mazda mazda 2 !!!
I just don't understand why people don't like happy looking cars!!, I love the mazda smiley face, I just got the Mazda 5, and the greatest thing I love about it is it's happy face! :D
everyone want's to punch a mazda happy face right in the FACE!
But it's Hedgehogs Car
I own one of these. I really dig the interior personally. Car is an absolute blast to drive with the manual.
Sproutacus I have the auto and very happy
I bought one yesterday
2013 auto and I absolutely love it so far
Seen 2018 of June. I have this car and bought new. 57K on miles. I love the car and zero issues. 🚘👍
Thank you for this review. I'm in the market for a small car right now, and this is currently my top pick.

My mod doesn't have an armrest, it annoys the heck out of me, but it has fine power and is fun to drive
I'm at 140,000 miles on my 2012 and no major problems.
It's a great car and this review is spot on in both the plus and the neg. The fuel efficiency boggles the mind.
Nice Review. Thanks.
I'm planning to purchase one soon as Mazda has really excellent deals now.

great down to earth review : ) a little late coming, but the video editing and perspective on the car was really spot on.
i have never heard some call it "mazda mazda 2" to me, it sounds like "john john smith" or something
Mazda Mazda 2
I cringed so hard
Bond, James Bond
Actually the music didn't bother me at all. It actually made the video more interesting to watch considering how interesting it already is since it's information about the car.

Good review.
Covered most of what a potential buyer needs to know.
Good bottom line summation properly positions the car relative to competition.
nice review and nice pkg..perfect little car .. need more color availability ..
yes, its a hatchback. Don't know where you're from but in the UK the majority of small cars are manual
i thought it also came with free sat nav, it wasn't mentioned in your video
I have one of these and it's super fun to drive. Super responsive and feels like it's a lot faster than it is (it's super slow).
How would you have preferred this video be produced? We are interested in hearing your feedback.

I love this car
Should i give up my 2002 BMW e46 1.8 for thie Mazda 2 1.5?
HightLink definitely
How can they say this car lacks style?
anyone know what material the interior seats are made of
i agree with the man.each time i watch a video of you guys i hear the same thing or similiar to it.a little bit of change would help.and good video btw keep it up.

Why isnt the 2 door model available in the u.s.
It does end up sounding weird, but Mazda2 is the model name of this vehicle, so it is the Mazda Mazda2.

@metroperson Mazda is the manufacturer, and Mazda2 is the model name. This would make the vehicle the Mazda Mazda2.

Why does he say Mazda Mazda2?
I'm a classical music fan. But I'm not sure I want my classical favorites debased by being used in videos having nothing to do with the music per se.

What engine and transmission do you have? And let me just confirm - is it miles or kilometres you are measuring in?
very funky car i do want one. could sell up my alfa romeo and won't be buying from a dealer though.... maybe in red or the green if i really just wanted to splurge. by the way the standard 2 has usb function no bluetooth and that was actually a question i had when we were out today.

LOL.
What Is color ??
No background music.
Nice video. I loved the interior. Doesn't sound like this one got 10 out of 10 from you.
i know this is old but he’s says mazda mazda2 because the name of the company is mazda and this car is called a mazda2
@akdaus the mazda2 is only hatchback, it must have been a mazda3
mazda mazda 2 - what ??
Agreed with the poster below me, I'm pretty sure it's just Mazda 2.
The review is quite good and informative. What a pity the producer insisted on putting a lousy and inferior rock music track in the background ruining it. Why do these people have such bad taste? I am fed up with this habitual practice.

infotainment? give me an aux input thx. Ill take care of the beats, you take care of the ride.
@lotprocars You can call a Honda Civic a Civic, so call a Mazda Mazda2 a Mazda2.
Calm down man, I saw on your chanel that you are from Congo, I don't know if there is a sedan version of the mazda 2 in Africa, I was talking for North America. Don't need to get all on your nerves for a simple misunderstanding -_-

yes he keeps saying it over and over....it's a Mazda 2

It is just Mazda 2,model name is 2,like bmw 5 series. It's not Mazda Mazda 2.
you pronounce it mAzda. not marzda.

Heeeeey I know!!!..
Don't learn me about cars, especially about BMW,cause I've got one.I just said that you don't need to say: Mazda Mazda..
CF09 LMJ

By black hide the smile
Lmao I hate when people do this, it’s just “Mazda 2”, not Mazda Mazda2.
It's automatic. Learn to drive a proper car man, manual's the way to go
It’s like get outta my site go on finally he did lol
