Frankie Dettori's Top 20 Racehorses

- The top 20 best racehorses that Frankie Dettori has ridden, in my opinion. He's ridden so many quality horses over his career so to pick 20 was difficult!
If I had to choose who I think is the best I would go with Dubai Millenium. He was spectacular when winning both the Dubai World Cup & Prince of Wales Stakes and I would have loved to have seen him run in the Breeders Cup Classic. Sadly that wasn't to be because injury ended his career early.
In Alphabetical Order:

Frankie Detorri is one of the world's best jockeys ever past or present and he is just an awesome guy in general met him in Barbados and at Woodbine in Canada, actually has a racing program from 2002 that he signed.
swain, singspiel, daylami -- all very hard to beat, on their day!
The ride on Golden horn in the Arc was magnificent,if you watch the race from the start you will see what i mean.
Genius that day👌
Lammtarra never got the credit he deserved.Unbeaten in 4 starts, wins the Derby in only his second start after a 302 day lay off, then wins the King George and the Arc.Only very special horses do that.
SpursFanCanada true... Wish they would've kept him in training
@@GeorgeFreeman55 heard somewhere that he was a really aggressive stallion too. Sounded like the racetrack was the best place for him
@@somersetfan1 Redheads are famously hot-headed
I thought Lammtarra was very special - one of the most impressive derby winners I ever saw, and what a great ride by the choirboy! I was there the day Balanchine won and backed him and got him to sign my card. Winning the Irish derby ... on a mare. Hasn't been done very often! That King George and some top horses in it too. Lochsong was a great mare. Great memories.
Frankie, many years of sheer genius.
Great jockey, ridden some cracking horses. Halling was another one I liked.
one of the most impressive win of Franko Dettori was in Mauritius on a horse called penddleton during the international jockeys day Frankie was crowned in the drivers seat for that occasion. Pendleton N Frankie did what I never saw like a 'slalom'' to win
i was at longchamp when he win the arc the trionphe with golden horn
When I was watching past horses, I was thinking some horses were really amazing in the stretch run as if they had turned up the gear and accelerated to win and with time I realized one thing: About 8/10 of them had Frankie Dettori as jockey and I understood why they were amazing performances.
Falbrav looked impressive
Lochsong..loved that horse
Lochsong was best sprinter I ever seen I loved mate
Dubai Millennium, he could have been the best ever, stunning horse.
He was very very good..no doubt
Yeah was good but best ever? Wouldn't have got within 5 of Frankel.
In my opinion Dubai millennium was the best horse I ever seen then his son dubawi but best sprinter I ever seen was locksong
@@jamesbaker6834 I agree with you, as for the comment above about Frankel, I'm not so sure, I'd look at it this way, over 8 Furlongs Frankel probably wins, Over 10 furlongs Dubai Millennium destroys him.
@@Rab18-02 I agree 💯 Frankel would have been eating Dubai millenniums dust over mile 1/4 not a horse could have lived with him on Dubai world cup night he had group 1 winners crying for mercy at the two pole while Frankie never moved a muscle till one out
Sakhee was brilliant. One of my all time favs.
Sakhee was special on soft ground the way he won the arc wow what a performance
Would love to have seen Cracksman v Winx
FRANKIE, COME TO INDIA,TO RIDE AFRICAN GOLD, CONNECTIONS LOOKING FORWARD, LOVE YOU❤❤❤

I would say 1) Dubai Millenium 2) Enable 3) Swain with a special mention to Lammtarra
Frankie Dettori he is best jockey riding different horse
Lammtarra the best!
Still to this day I don't get how cracksman was the highest rated horse its just as stupid as people thinking frankie is the greatest jockey of all time
Still trying to fathom why Enable only had an official rating of 125!
Which one is shiballe he used to be on my yard but I wanted to see him race
Frankie Dettori's best horse is Dubai Millennium!!
What a legend !
Swain fantastic light an sakhee, daylami these horses could run both on dirt an turf sakhee was good too bad he met a monster name tiznow same with giant causeway
Didn't sakhee get injured in that race mate chipped is foot which made him retire after the Dubai world cup when street cry won it
Charlie farns barnes. What a name.
Authorised won I won £670 that days with £2 lucky 15
FRANKI SUPER.. ❤❤❤ BRAVOOOOOO....
look at that machine
Come on man.Youve ridden the best. Now breed the best
cracksman is now the worlds best racehorse alongside winx lol
Just imagine Winx trying to run down DubainMillenium?
Would have looked very ordinary 😂😂😂 Dubai Millennium would have ran her into the ground with Montjeu on his back 😂😂😂
To ran down Dubai millennium u need a sports car he was so quick
Anytime a bettor makes a comment, I know two things: 1) He has a day job because 2) He doesn't know a thing about horseracing.
That beautiful girl if she was human she would be unattainable I'm talking about the beautiful enable
Dubai millennium ❤️

Enable ❤
DETTORI SUPER... ❤
He needs a Melbourne Cup!
tiocfaidh ar la he's had his chances. Funny thing is all the slaughter jobs have been made by European jockeys and his have been the worst.

No Ribot is
Agreed
@@cab6466 did you ever hear of a horse named "NEARCO"
@@hillaryilinsky1009
Do you know Ribot is voted as horse of the century in Italy?
@@cab6466 no i didn't know , but i'm not surprised. ribot was probably a better racehorse than nearco , although both never lost . but i'm sure even those at darby dan would say nearco was one of the greatest stallions ever. now that i'm thinking about that i have this book by richard stone reeves "classic lines" in one of my draws ,i'll have to dig it out . i believe he said that in the book. what i was surprised to read was that tesio said that one of his other horses not ribot or nearco was his best . iwas was looking up serafina or something like that and tesio's favorite was mentioned by name but i don't recall. the stallion might have been in the filly that just won the arc twice and the b. c. recently . i'll have to give some more thought. i'm sure i'll find it again.
Disgrace no Classic Cliche
When doing the Melbourne Cup form these days you include most of the English & Irish stayers but putting a line through Frankie Detorri's mount is a key consideration. He has been ordinary out here and is almost a running Joke.
Bit like the Aussie jockeys, Absolutely terrible riders, Who was clown who rode Black Caviar? Another clown is that Kerrin McEvoy, brought him over from Aus and had to kick his arse back down under as he was so bad, Now won his 3rd MC i believe, lol, truly shocking.
Luke Nolan rode Black Caviar who was injured in the run with muscle tears and bruising the only reason anything got near her, her cruising speed was better than most other horses sprints. (agree Nolan's no superstar) www.abc.net.au/news/2012-06-25/black-caviar-victorious-despite-injuries/4089658.
Yeah McEvoy just won Godolphin's first cup (his 3rd), 4 is the record for a Jockey. He was a kid when he won in 2000 as an apprentice and it was only a year or two later they took him over there. I see Frankie D killed them in the recent Breeders Cup championships. McEvoy has more G1 wins but Detorri has a higher strike rate. There are different surfaces, racing styles, rules & regs, cultures etc which makes it hard for someone flying in and out for a meeting or 2 to adjust and dominate unless its someone who does it all the time.
Some of the Irish Jockeys have been impressive in Australia as has Ryan Moore. I reckon our best measure up, many of the Aussie riders are very successful in Hong Kong and Singapore when based there full time. There's plenty of quality racing and prizemoney here & in Asia so no need to go elsewhere. Hugh Bowman was rated the best jockey in the Longines World ratings last year, primarily because of WINX the greatest G1 winning horse of all time (jointly, but not yet retired).
Odd... The man has won almost every huge race in the world yet he is a joke in Australia... Except for the late George Freeman nobody in Australia knows anything about horse racing...I am sure frankie a breeders cup multi classic winning jockey craves the approval of Bea Smith and whoever else your country has produced outside of the Jardine owned bradman
@@cosmicrooster65
Just a quick look tells me that Australia has 72 G1 races, England has 36, So that's to be expected, Just looking at those G1's in England i know 10 of those races have only become G1's in the last 10 years or so, When i was used to bet there were about around 23 G1 races. Take the Diamond Jubilee that Black Caviar won, It was a G3 race from 1971-1998, G2 from 98-02 before becoming a G1 race and yet it is arguably our most important G1 Sprint race despite only being in it's 16th year.
@@Spursrule1969 Alot of ours have been upgraded when they probably shouldnt be, there are alot of soft G1s. Even the Warwick Stakes (now Winx stakes) was G2 for years. There are also alot of 2 and 3yo G1s. The overall racing probably 10 furlongs up wards is vastly superior in the UK as is the breeding industry. Locally theres a bizarre greedy obsession with breeding sprinter milers.
Dettori is out of his depth racing in Australia. Too risky and dangerous when under pressure and has nearly brought horses down around him.
Yes. The place down under has been the one he would probably never gain anything and become the only pity of his legendary career. Or his style would never meet Aussie's standard or have already break their rule? I once heard sb said he would only have been a working rider had he born and mainly work in Australia.
@@myfrobert Horses for courses and that goes for jockeys as well like Dettori.
