      I know right! I have been looking for a really nice one, but the cheapest I could find that I think would hold the weight is $1,000.

    I learned about stacking monster boxes a while back...they are all a bit different. Now I buy same boxes and mark em up myself.

      Yup these work great because they lock in. Well all except the Black one. I like the RCM ones because they are more sturdy than the US Mint monster boxes. Which ones do you get?

    • @TheSilverSlacker
      @TheSilverSlacker  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is really sad! The 4 monster boxes were $60, that could easily get you 3 oz today. Hell if it was even just Americans that would be over a billion ounces of silver if everyone had just 3 ounces!

    where do you buy the poured bars?

    • @TheSilverSlacker
      @TheSilverSlacker  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      It depends on which ones. My favorite two companies to by from is Yeagers Poured Silver and MK Barz. You can find a lot of their stuff at Apmex or Provident. Or their own websites. It is best to shop around and look for the best deals.

  • @SkylineR33

    Hey slacker I am bout to get into stacking. What would you suggest as my first purchase if I have 200$ to spend? I'd like my first piece/s to be unique to an eventual large collection. Any suggestions?

    • @TheSilverSlacker
      @TheSilverSlacker  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mike Egidi Mike that all depends on what you like. I like the Perth Mint Lunar bullion coins, not the proofs, and the America the Beautiful coins from the US mint. Those are my 2 favorite coin series. The Perth Kookaburra is also pretty nice. But if you like bars/poured silver it pretty much just depends on the look you like. Right now my favorites are YPS because most of them are serial numbered and some are limited edition releases. I hope that helps, but it ultimately comes down to what YOU like. That is the most important thing to consider.

    I need a medium size safe for now but not sure what to get..I just use small fire resistent lock boxes for now but they are to small now that i'm trying to get quanity.I've decide to go cheap and get my stack up in pure size. probably generic rounds till i hit 500oz. which isn't to far off. Probably in January i'll add another 250oz if the price stays down.that will push me well over the 500oz mark. hoping to hit 1000oz in 2015

      for 1000 ounces, get a TL15 UL rated safe at minimum, 1000lbs, 5 cubic feet should be enough...
      Many safes are better than one ;o), make sure the lighter ones are bolted.

    Where do you guys store them? In your house or do your bury them somewhere? I thought about doing that, but it would be hard to hide. I have my stuff hidden at more than one place and within each place at different locations in the same residence, etc. As I acquire more and more, this becomes a concern as to where and how to store your silver!

    • @TheSilverSlacker
      @TheSilverSlacker  10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I actually have a steel safe room in my house with a very large floor safe inside of it for double protection. I would never bury my silver, but that is just me! I think possibly hiding it in your house where if someone broke in they would never look would be a good idea. Just make sure you let someone else know in case something happens to you they know where to look and not move without finding your silver/gold lol...

    • @Hughjarce153
      @Hughjarce153 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Another good idea is to leave a small cache of silver around so that if you are burgled (God forbid) they'll make off with that instead of the mother load.
      Pretty bars too! I prefer coins myself because I'm not really a coin collector, it's just there to use when the dollar collapses, and I figure that legal tender might be easier to recognize for those who will never see silver coins until SHTF.

    • @ladylibertystacker2014
      @ladylibertystacker2014 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, this is a good idea. We also installed a high tech monitored security system for both burglery & fire that we can monitor from smart phones That and a few safety measures to better secure windows and doors have also been done.

    • @Hughjarce153
      @Hughjarce153 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      LadyLibertyStacker But the best security is if nobody knows that you have silver at all. My family doesn't even know. Let's keep it that way.

    • @ladylibertystacker2014
      @ladylibertystacker2014 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hughjarce153 Same here, except my husband who has a small stack himself. None of my other family or friends know, but if they did they couldn't find much of it even if they tried. Hence, this is one of the reasons I am in the silver TH-cam family to share knowledge, purchase info, and support each other in lieu of the "real" people we know.

    Just for fun... Why are you calling your hand poured silver... "bars?" ... I thought all poured or hand poured metal was called an "ingot" and a "bar" was a flat stamped piece of metal, not an ingot. Is there a difference between a "bar" and a poured "ingot???"
