My rule of thumb is I never nickname new Pokemon to learn their names. But I always nickname my Pokemon the first word to come to mind?
Lokix? He reminds me of an office supply so his name is Staples.
Honestly if there's one certain aspect that Pokémon really nails on doing, it's that these devs can create each Pokémon to where they look innocently cute to the human eye. Making it impossible for anyone to not detect any evidence of the Pokémon's past murders & crimes it committed before becoming a great battle partner to it's trainer. 😳👍

I love how the anime and games portray alot of pokemon, but i think something both the anime and games barely puts any focus into is the characters (gym leaders, elite four, etc) excluding SV. This is where i think the pokemon adventures manga absolutely shines because of how character driven it is. I would have never been a fan of characters like blue, bill, green, red, steven, giovanni, zinnia, etc without pokemon adventures really cool take on the pokemon world. Aswell as themselves also giving personality to alot of pokemon and how a Pokémon’s personality tends to reflect off of their trainers.
I think the anime does it the best, but at its core, the anime and manga are advertising for the merch and games. I would imagine it's much more difficult to show off personality for individual Pokemon in the manga (You'd know more than me as I've barely read it), while each episode of the anime typically focuses on one or two specific Pokemon to form an emotional attachment to push merch. Plus, having a manga and anime running side by side with each other, along with a game....that's A LOT to handle. They came out around the same time (6 months apart, manga first, so I'm sure they both started production simultaneously) so I'm sure they wanted to separate all three universe's from the beginning in a way.

I still want an answer on how they thought of klefkey, a sentient key ring.
The background for it is pretty fascinating. It used to not look like a key, but due to it's fascination towards them and consistently sticking itself in minerals to feed of the ions, it eventually molded itself into one and steals keys from other people.
