Im a filmmaker and yes behind the scenes can look awkward to the general audience. But when you are an actor/actress doing your work its fine. You get into character and the other actor responds. Everything is ok after that. But yes....can be awkward at times haha

I'm glad a majority of this is not cgi, especially the laso of truth, I mean there are some cgi in it but the fact that they actually had a rope that light up made this better and also letting the actors actually go to these different settings is just wonderful, I was so worried that movies depended too much on CGI to the point where a makeup artist and actual background is not needed, and realism are the best part about movies, especially with the classics. I saw the making of Alice in wonderland 2 and I'm like "Damn! there's too much green screen!"
This was awesome, you can see they had some fun on the set...you forget to realize how much work these actors have to put into these films (physically and emotionally). Sometimes even filming a movie, for 2 years or more....crazy.

Ximena Briones ..HD video has all but replaced film to capture images in movies, TV, commercials and music videos. The quality of HD video has improved to the point that it can equal or surpass what film gave us. Video is cheaper than film and faster and easier to work with. And with movies heavy on visual effects it's easier to manipulate and tweek the image digitally. Rarely are big budget movies shot on film anymore...so I was shocked to learn Wonder Woman was shot on film...bottom line..it looked great but my God the amount of film used must have been incredible...I tip my hat to the DP.

I remember how unimpressed I was with the behind the scenes footage of the prequel trilogy (of Star Wars films - as if you don't know what I mean by that), since most of it was just actors in a blue room. Bravo Patty Jenkins for getting off your arse and getting out there in the real world.

For the one scene, likely for lighting reference.... Certainly not in the scenes where it's in motion, action sequences and such.

It has some CG to give it a rope like texture. The practical part is probably just to get the lighting right.
