  • Here is one of the lifts in this car park. This one goes into the shopping centre whereas the other one opens out into the street. It is a modernised Evans lift. It is pretty basic though I do think it is quite delightfully spooky in a way! Luckily, the shaft lights are on so you can see into the lift shaft! Notice how there are pulley wheels at the top of the shaft that anchor the cables downwards from the lift car, meaning that the lift is a bottom drive lift. The motor room must be down in the old abandoned basement.
Unfortunately there aren’t that many original features left as the lift has been heavily modernised, only the lift car, rails and counterweight still reside. The doors/operators, controllers, fixtures and pretty much everything has been replaced. I think the motor might still be original potentially though I’m not sure entirely. I’m not too sure whether this lift has been partly refurbished inside after the mod but there is a panel showing where the old buttons where so I think the cab may be original.
For some reason this lift doesn’t serve the 1st nor Ground floor in the car park. The ground floor only goes into the shopping centre.
Controller - ILE (International Lift Equipment) Interflite microprocessor controller
    Fixtures - Dewhurst
    Floors - 4(B(locked), G, 2, 3)
Motor - possibly original old Evans 2 speed AC (modded with modern AC VVVF)
Mechanism - bottom drive side traction 1:1 roped with motor room
Doors - GAL single speed sliding auto doors
Selector/position system - ILE tape head unit (makes the clicking noise you hear when the lift moves as the magnets click on it)
    Voice - ILE Sercomms
Access control - key operated floor lockout
    Capacity - 630KG 8 persons

I feel like there's been an OTIS presence here at some point - that serial number 78NH1662 screams OTIS to me

It might be an Otis, considering how the old panel is quite large though it is quite hard to tell since there isn’t many original features of the lift. Does each company has its own serial no. pattern?

@@blue.light.fazbear a lot of companies don't use any particular pattern but from the Series 1s/Europas onwards OTIS have used 78N(another letter here)(four numbers here). So it suggests to me this could have been a Series 1 perhaps
