I just got done snowblowing my driveway. Then I come in to see a fresh Pro Monkey video drop, now I’m trying to talk the wife into moving south! Ride safe!
Every time I hear about your schedule and “To do lists”, I realize what a lazy pos I am for not changing my spark plugs etc.. I guess acceptance is the first step to recovery. Thanks for that.
Your videos help ease my winter depression! I do concrete work in NC and we ain’t worked in 6 weeks. Gonna be below freezing for the next 48 to 60 hours with lows of 10 degrees. Ugh. Keep em coming cause winter is suckin bad. Can’t imagine being any further North. Geez
Thanks for the reminder about a first aid kit. I've been meaning to pick one up and throw in the saddlebag for a long time now. Guess I'll put that Amazon Prime to use, lol. I've got HD rainsuits for both myself and the wife as well as my chaps and at times my leather jacket in my left saddlebag. I carry that all the time and have used it. Heck I stopped south of Atlanta on the way back from Daytona in 23 for a cup of coffee and to add leathers under the rainsuit so they have a permanent place in my saddlebag. The right side gets the normal stuff, sunscreen, bandanas, gloves, etc plus whatever the wife wants to bring when she's on back. I offered to get a trunk but she said she wasn't ready for an old folks look yet. Hope you enjoyed your day off!
My pack out list is real similar. My first aid kit is probably more comprehensive I have some medical training. Strongly recommend good C-A-T. Will have to look into that air pump. Thanks for sharing. 👍
a good mushroom style tire patch kit is essential. on the way back from des moines, IA to denver (home) on a hot summer day, we patched my fathers gold wing tire. it held full pressure for 300 miles in 103+ degree weather at highway speed. Hes a stubborn old man, and that thing is still holding air on that bike 2 years later.
Little unsolicited tip from an EMT, add Torniquets (genuine CATs) to your trauma kit. they run 30-40 dollars a piece, but those cheap 10-20 dollar ones on amazon do fail under pressure and actual use. Working multiple motorcycle accident's a season TQs will legitimately make the difference between life and death after a crash.
I am kinda new to riding but I usually keep an air pump in case I get a flat and a cruise tool pack in case something happens. I like all the other things you pack too. Great video. Thanks
Cool kit, ProMo. I carry a Gerber multi-tool on my belt every day. I bought it on a holiday trip to Orlando back in '97 and it's still working well today. Best $50 I spent!
Yup yup. Good advice all the way around. Been putting off inflator and jumper. The cpap is not negotiable it’s a must have. Longest scoot in one day was cleveland to Myrtle Beach. Then back in one day a couple days later. I’ll check these links.
Love the pack out. I don’t have a tour pack yet for the CVO but I have my NOCO jump pack, Fantik portable pump, a multi-tool, kickstand puck, some clean and dirty microfiber clothes and detail spray, and my H-D rain gear in my left saddlebag and save the right side for gloves my laptop bag (ride to work a lot)and whatever else I may need. Now one of my favorite things is my Motak TactiPig XL tethers for the saddlebags. Velcro pockets to store insurance and registration, MOLLE straps to carry an extra pew pew mag and my olight flashlight like you have.
Your spare key fob maybe and some cash tucked in someplace like 40$ Incase power goes out and they only take cash no cards just a thought , always nice to have a little cash on hand .
I have a new Koozie for you, I had some made to give away at an event and have some left. I did not hear you mention chest seals for your trauma kit. I carry some in mine, when I did a stop the bleed class the instructor told us about some small ones, might be something to add for a sucking chest would... Take care!
The only thing i would add is a jetboil or some other way to heat water and make coffee (starbucks instant works in a pinch). It seems like a luxury, but for me, i was riding the rim of the grand canyon and just had to stop and take 5. Sitting with my feet dangling over the ledge and sipping on hot coffee just taking in the moment is one of my favorite riding memories. So maybe you just need to bring something that tells you to slow down and soak up the majesty around us. 😊
One year many years ago I rode a whole year with 5 plugs in my rear tyre until it was bald and needed to be replaced. Yes, I was broke that year, but I did a ton of miles as well
That's a pretty good list, I carry a NOCO boost GB40 and a Multimeter. I love the NOCO, I have used it many times on cars and trucks but never on a bike until last summer. The bike was what I bought it for. 100 miles from home a couple of friends and I stopped for gas and the one says I might have bike problems. He has no power, the lights in his dash don't even come on. This is were the Volt Meter comes in. With a brand new Lithium battery that he installed, the voltage reads 1.3 volts. Bike was driven there so must be charging. NOCO boosts work great but need to sense a minimum of 2 volts to boost and it didn't. That's that safety thing so you can cross the cables or clamp them together. That is were that little safety defeat button with the red circle with the ! in it comes in real handy. Now it can boost a stone dead battery. That saved the day. We road together two weeks later and he had a new Multimeter, NOCO Boost, took back the Lithium battery and bought another sealed Led Acid Battery. It is a 2019 SG not a 2024 with the Lithium Battery non-compatibility issues. That's my three cents.
Your packing is similar to mine. Except I don’t have a first aid kit. Which is strange, cause I was a FD Paramedic for years. 🤔 I’ll have to correct that. I also carry an extra t-shirt, usually a long sleeve in my saddle bag. Just in case it gets cool in the run to where ever I’m sleeping that night. And a few shop towels. Plus a small container of hand cleaner/sanitizer.
I have a few Fantik F8's and the new F9 is no shit, a little bit better. Not a huge jump, but a little faster and a little smaller. I think it's the same price too. I love those things! Saved both my and many friends asses!
Good vid Monk, yes we should all go through our bike and update all the shit thats missing/ out of date. Etc.. i would add sunscreen to that list but thats because im from the arctic..😂. Cheers from the Great White North.
I'm like you, riding in longsleeves and cut even through Arizona in August. I'm probably ridiculous, with tools. Got too much onboard?. Like you, not so much for me, but I don't want my trip ruined by others breaking down. Like the buddy who crashed his bike trying to go down a mountain in neutral. 2 hrs bending and breaking with vice grips etc. to get the bike back on the road. My tire kit, inflator, tools, jumppak, extra fuses, hose clamps, have always been used more on other folks bikes. I did like you use it on my on bike getting flat in Jackson Hole 2500 miles from home. Ended up with more miles on the tire with the plug than before.
Similar to your air hawk.....but much better. Go online and track down a REAL sheepskin ,long fur and all , seat cover. Some years ago riding to Sturgis on my shovel I was getting a massive case of iron butt. We stopped in Ohio for the night and a roadside leather shop had these sheep fur seat covers for sale. Yes they are ugly as hell but oh my God , it is amazing how it stops iron butt. Soft and airy, they just work. Find yourself one. You'll never regret it. Roll on!
The only downside of the sheepskin cover is that it is bleached. The bleach over time impacts your paint if it touches painted parts. It ruined the white side panels of my old RK. When the skin gets wet, the water runs down the bike and it contains the bleach.
Used the frog togg rain gear for about 3 years when on road trips and was okay. Last year bought a Nelson Rigg suit and got caught in a nasty thunderstorm in far western Nebraska. I’m talking probably pea sized hail and a complete downpour. Other than what snuck in at the top between helmet and rain jacket, I stayed completely dry. Only thing I don’t like about that suit is that you can’t just remove the hood from the rain jacket, like it doesn’t zip off or whatever.
with a cpap it pretty much leaves out tent camping, its such a pain in the ass on a motorcycle, I dont even use the cpap case, I use a tourpak bag that mounts on top of the tourpak for the cpap and other items.

You’ve mentioned it several times but I haven’t seen a video where you actually say what your job entails. Just curiosity. Have to set you straight bro. You bought the cheap Frogg Toggs, lol. They make them for motorcycles called Road Toads and about 80 dollars per set and I have had several over 20 plus yrs. The mistake people make is buying too small and sit their big behinds on the bike and stretch the seams and they leak. Buy them a size larger and I have ridden days in the rain and not gotten wet. Just if you know, you know!
I rolled with a plug in my rear tire on my vrod for almost an entire season until it finally said bye bye... Got me through. No way I'd do it with a front tire
@@jamessmoth8683if you’re tenting then yes. I haven’t tented at Sturgis for years. I’d really look into those new big inflatable tents if you don’t have a passenger, and get a space with power so you can run a fan. Actually I’d do camp EZ Ride at the Chip then all of your equipment is provided and you can pack light!
