Thank you for a great and thorough review! I bought the Vx4 early on a flash sale and at the time, all I was hearing were negative things. I was hoping someone would do a review of it once it'd been updated and then I saw, you, my fave DIY channel did! Much love from Canada ^_^
⚡ *I really like the display on this remote, and I usually don't like remotes with displays!* ⚡ So clear, and easy to read, nice graphics, has that racer look.
I don't really focus on the display of the remote control either, but when I saw it, there were many parts that I thought were definitely advantages. Also, the throttle wheel experience is really good compared to previous generations.~ :)

Thank you for your informative video. I have a few questions: 1. Is it possible to pair VX4 with the receiver of VX1 pro? (Are they using the same type of receivers?) 2. Can they be paired with multiple receivers? 3. Can they send signal to multiple receiver simultaneously, controlling two boards at the same time? Your help is appreciated. I'm trying to build a ski-like setup!
1. VX1pro uses PPM-style settings and VX4 uses PPM and USRM-style settings. If VX4 is connected to VX1's receiver using PPM, you will not be able to see a lot of information such as speed and battery capacity. 2. You can connect to one reciver at a time. It is impossible to connect to two receivers at the same time. 3. It's impossible, just like the reason number 2.
@@KAMiJUINs Thank you for the fast response. 1. Like VX1, does VX1 Pro also use a ppm cheap? (VX1 Pro is using 2.4 Ghz) 2. Which remote do you recommend me to use simultaneously with two receivers?

Are the ergonomics better than the VX1? How does the wheel feel? Does your finger rub against the case or is the wheel "elevated" from the rest of the VX4 body? Thanks!
Everything is better than VX1. Considering the price, I think it is a really good product for DIY. The throttle feels really smooth and good, also the grip was good too.
Have you found a way to start up to the display 2 setting? My VX4 always starts with the display option 1 even though I change it to display 2 manually every time.
@@KAMiJUINs Thank you :) Even though I meant that everytime I do change it to display 1, it starts automatically from display 2 and has to be changed after every shutdown/restart again which gets kind of annoying 😬
For the VX4 is the cruise control the same as the VX2 aka constant power or is it adjusting power to keep a constant speed ? I don't use the cruiser control on the VX2 because of it, I end up way too fast on descent or way too slow on climb.
How was the battery life? The display kind of reminds me of backfire's new remote which looked awesome but only had something like 5 hours battery life...
Nice video. Off topic question - what is the best AT hubs and tires you’ve tried vibrations wise? It seems like they all are a bit unbalanced and that kills all the joy.
all AT hubs come from the factory unbalanced. there's a lot of different reasons why, but it's too many to list. the closest you can get to perfect balance is CNC made hubs, but even those will still be unbalanced once you add tires. you have to balance all pneumatic tires yourself, using wheel weights.
@@pixel6173 thanks, what are the best CNC? I also think CNCs are heavier than regular ones. I’ve tried to balance with wheel weights but it is never perfect and there is no perfect place on wheels to stick weights, so it keeps vibrating.
@@user-pm2yq3wm9w best CNC depends on a lot. Meepo's racing wheels are pretty good for the price though. and Eovan 175 wheels. those are the two I'd reccomend
I feel it's twice as fast than the VX2. However, there was no problem with using more than 100 kilometers on a single charge.~ :) Overall, it was a really satisfying remote in terms of control feeling and accuracy.
