Walz’s executive order prevents other states from taking “child protection” action against parents who help their children “transition” to a boy or girl. According to the order, a parent in another state may not take custody action against a parent in Minnesota who is transitioning a child.
“We want every Minnesotan to grow up feeling safe, valued, protected, celebrated, and free to exist as their authentic versions of themselves,” Walz said. “Protecting and supporting access to gender-affirming health care is essential to being a welcoming and supportive state.”

@@OneWildTurkey Shapiro's speech would have made more sense and would have been more appropriate, at least for me, if we were actually living in 1900 rather than 2024. Most of what he said about freedom for that little girl (assuming he wasn't referring to Harris) has been a reality for most women for the last thirty to forty years, but not, unfortunately, for those women mired in abject poverty. Such women do, indeed, have far fewer choices. I don't believe that Shapiro was referring to such women, and if he were, he should have made that distinction more clear.
