The N97 is supposed to be a much better performing NUC box, and it's in the same price bracket. Also, consider trying small size NUC boxes. They are 72 X 72 X 40 (something) mm. Size starts to matter for these little guys.
@ezg8448, thanks for the info. I didn't know about the N97. I was just comparing both, and the notable difference is the GPU clock: 750 MHz N100 1200 MHz N97 core count is 4, but N97 has a higher cpu clock by 200 MHz It's weird how 97 is better than 100, though, since in Intel book, higher number is better but I see that it has higher TDP, so it requires better cooling, this one got 79 on max maybe with higher clock it cant handle it
Thanks for the very detailed review! I recently bought a similar, but cheaper N100 mini pc from Aliexpress. I've connected it with a high-quality HDMI cable to my 4K TV. I'm disappointed with its performance when streaming youtube (at 1080p and 4k). The video is not smooth, but rather choppy. The picture quality doesn't seem that clear. I am going to try putting some full HD and 4K movies on it and use VLC to watch it on my TV. I was wondering if you have any tips for such media streaming? I was told the N100 with a SSD would easily handle such media tasks. Thank you.
Thanks for your comment. To be perfectly honest, I haven't played any TH-cam videos in either 1080p or 4K on it yet. I'll give it a try and let you know how it goes, promise I may make more tips or other content related to it as well, i enjoy the concept For storage Did you confirm that it has an NVMe SSD at least gen 3 ? Also, what are the specifications of your RAM in terms of capacity and speed? Mine has 12 GB of 4000 MHz DDR5 (yes, it was advertised as 4800 MHz but I only got 4000 instead, and I can't change it. I've tried every method I know).
