    // My Story
    I am currently a software developer who once modeled and thought I wanted to pursue a career in the fashion industry. While I was modeling in Hong Kong, I eventually felt the desire to further my education. I decided to depart the modeling world and move back to Canada, knowing that could be the end of my modeling opportunities. I attended Ryerson University for GCM (Graphic Communications Management), as I thought I might still work in the fashion industry in another capacity. It was in my last year of university, I was introduced to a very basic coding course. I instantly fell in love. From there I knew I wanted to pursue software development but didn't have a clue where to start. I didn't want to go back to university as I just completed a four-year degree. I decided to enroll in a 10-week intensive coding Bootcamp. From there I started working at a small startup learning and growing my technical and soft skills. I then transitioned to a larger company where I am a software developer and technical consultant today.

    I think what makes these courses good is the access to the employers that will source talent. It may cause a trend for other companies on the platform like Amazon, Microsoft, Google, and IBM to do the same

    On Coursera you can find programming courses provided by top universities. I would prefer to have a certificate issued by a prestigious university. I love that you can have access to materials that have been put together by some of the greatest minds in the field. And they really know how to teach.
    Or maybe I just got disappointed in a Google cloud course before and the rest could be amazing.
    But that one felt like a low-quality apple event 😀

Any idea on why IOS app developers have a higher median salary than Android? I myself have a Google Pixel phone and was considering doing the Android developer cert after the front end and was curious about it.

    I would love to get into iOS development but I only have an older Apple Macbook Air dating back 2017 which is underpowered (I tried video editing and it just freezes a lot). On the other hand I have a high end Samsung Phone and a high end Windows laptop so I may consider jumping into Android development first since I already do lots of work on my Windows laptop. If I ever upgrade to a Macbook Pro and a new iPhone in the future, then I'll get into iOS development. I'm not sure if it's important to have a powerful laptop in order to do Android/iOS development.
