Alright my second take at Carnival and Casey’s 5th! Here’s our first impressions, part 2 will be out tomorrow… Let me tell you it actually gets way better from here
i think the way kyle expresses his opinions are sometimes obnoxious to the point that is kinda exhausting to hear? saying "we'll keep an open mind" while just bombarding down the cruise with his opinions is just crazy to me😭 the liberty is an old cruise and nobody is gonna think its like a new one, of course is gonna look old, the liberty was my first cruise ship ever and it was literally one of my best vacations ever, i did not care how it looked like, it was the memories we made. kyle should take a look in how casey states her opinions and how she elaborates them because its insane how many times he went saying to kept an open mind when he himself isn't doing it.
Especially Carnival. As I said in another comment several design concepts were introduced in the 90s and they didn't really change it much at all until the Vista class was introduced (although they did update the cabin colors to include blue in the Dream class). So this cabin built in 2005 looks about the same as what you'd find on Carnival Fantasy from 1990. Same goes for the lido decks - they largely looked about the same until the refreshed Dream class (Magic and Breeze) and Vista class started playing around with it more. I say Carnival specifically because the same time frame Liberty was introduced so was Royal's Freedom of the Seas. Which has a more modern cabin design that's brighter (though the bathrooms are similar to this Carnival era they DO have doors instead of curtains), and of course the Promenades are just more impressive than atriums - not to mention ice rinks and other features Carnival didn't have. The only thing Royal didn't originally have on ships were waterslides - and those have recently been added in dry docks.
@@joshl9328 Well in this case Liberty was only higher because he booked a high demand Spring Break cruise last minute. Supply and demand wasn't on his side. A couple weeks earlier or later and this could have been half the price of the Virgin cruise.
Really Kyle chill out. It is an older ship. Don’t complain your blessed to do that many cruises. Much much better than Margaritaville at sea STOP complaining!
My one rule upon boarding different ships is don’t compare them right off the bat. Sometimes I’ve gone on a ship like wow this is horrible and then it ends up being a good ship! Go in with an open mind and stop comparing from virgin lol 😂 that’s like comparing carnival to Disney, you just can’t 🥲 enjoy all the cruises you’re able to go on!
It's hard not judging up front when running a TH-cam channel where you're trying to compare for content. That said it's something that more experienced cruise TH-camrs have gotten good at. Comparing without judging up front. PS: It's a hard to thing to do and as far as cruise content is concerned he's still not super experienced with it. I'm trying to give constructive criticism on this point for him.
Enjoy yourself. It is an older ship, but it's not always about the ship, it's about the entertainment, food, visiting different countries, and having fun with the person you're with.
Those aren’t metal detectors, it’s to prevent theft from the photo store. I went on this ship last year and loved it! Dated does not equal bad. The food and entertainment is great, and the cruise is what you make of it.
And this is why Carnival was originally the cheapest cruise line. At the same time Royal was building the Freedom of the Seas class ships this is what Carnival built - a ship still very much rooted in designs introduced in 1995. Mardi Gras (and to a lesser extent the Vista class ships) was a game-changer for Carnival. Just getting rid of the old designs went a long way to giving the ships a better feel.
If you're paying the same price, definitely fair to compare older to newer! It's always been nice to go on the older ships because they were always cheaper; but when they're priced the same as the newer ones and going to the same location, kinda hard to not feel ripped off. Regardless, hopefully you two have fun!
Me thinks that you aren’t really keeping an “open mind”. That’s what you said…like 50 times, correct? Regardless, my family did the Carnival Sunrise, an even older ship, and loved it. Fancy doesn’t necessarily equal enjoyable. It’s all in who you are hanging with. Anyway, you are more than allowed to express your opinion but there was something off about this vlog that didn’t sit well. Perhaps it’s that your words didn’t match your utter disdain and disappointing facials while touring the ship. Anyway, I’m sure you will be able to turn lemons into lemonade. Enjoy your beautiful Caribbean tour on a crappy cruise while I make it through in wonderfully cloudy NE Ohio.
Sunrise was originally Triumph. They spent a couple hundred million to renovate it so a lot of the older look was refreshed. It's way more modern feeling after that. The cabins in particular were significantly renovated and aren't orange.
Kyle said he’s “keeping an open mind” at least 5 times and each time he says it you can clearly tell he’s most definitely not keeping an open mind and judging this ship way harder than he should to the point where it was not only very annoying but makes me not want to keep watching. Would’ve just been better off saying how disappointed you were cause it was written all over his face.
I've never been on a cruise yet, so I totally agree with the statement, on any cruise is better than not crusing. Still looks like fun. An open mind is all you need. I can't wait to try a cruise.
Carnival Liberty was our first cruise and we loved it!!!!! Of course we can’t compare new ships to older ships but right after that we realized how we like to cruise. We made the best of it and I have beautiful memories.
My take is that you’re only going to be in your room to sleep the rest of the time you’re going to be out on the ship doing activities or whatever so does it really matter what the room looks like if you’re just going to be in the room to sleep.
I love how Kasey is so sweet and down to earth..Kyle I felt your pain when u walked in... but I know you guys are gonna have an awesome time.. thanks for taking us along...
Yep. Security detectors like you'll find at pretty much any store. They were likely even at the exits of every shop even on Scarlet Lady. They're typically just hidden a bit better than this on newer ships.
Carnival liberty is an old ship. I remember being on it in 2012. And in 2012 it felt dated. So I can imagine now. I’m sure it looks, Especially since you have been on a lot of modern ships. Oh well. You’re on it. Enjoy your time. Sun is still shining no matter what.
Not the worst ship I've ever been on. I wouldn't call it bad. We had a suite on this ship. Cabins are clean and given the age quite large. We sail Princess and Celebrity.
Kyle you can't compare an older ship with the newer ships. You knew what you were getting on. Not fair to Carnival. You're sounding like high maintenance.
I definitely agree with not comparing the ship… but he is high maintenance and that’s why he’s reviewing it. So everyone knows what it is before they buy it. Don’t bash him for being honest
Actually you can. That’s kinda the point. Older ships are less expensive but you make sacrifices. It’s fine for some people. It’s not for others. I’d rather an honest review than someone just blowing smoke to be polite.
This was the ship I took my honeymoon on in 2017 - and it felt dated then LOL. It was a fun party ship and the overall experience outweighed any negatives with the looks! Have fun guys!!
Yeah a lot of the designs on Liberty really started back in ~1990 with Carnival Fantasy. Carnival didn't really mess with that much for 20 years. It's part of what made it cheaper for them to churn out new ships - but the drawback is a ship as little as 5-10 years old really feels more dated than it otherwise would. I drew the comparison between this and Freedom of the Seas. Same general type of cruise line and introduced within a few months of each other but Freedom just seems less dated due to Royal refreshing their designs more regularly.
Kinda harsh review. I could care less about how the room looks. I have enjoyed the carnival cruises I’ve been on and the ships were, older then this one. Met some great people. Don’t knock it off first impressions.
We went on our first carnival cruise last year on one of their older ships and I was in shock at the age of the ship when we first got on. But after a few hours and got accustomed to the lay out, I really enjoyed it. To this day, we still talk about what a blast we had. We’ve done Disney as well so we know what it’s like to be on a newer and nicer ship. We appreciate carnival for what it is.
Kyle, I’ve never cruised before, so to call a ship bad because you’ve had better is definitely misleading. Your trash may be MY treasure since I’ve never cruised before. Don’t disillusion me. Maybe tacky to you but wonderful to me. It’s all relative, sug.
The room has everything you need and ya the color Ugh , but really your outside the room most of the time and I like the couch and closets it really works for use...Love the balcony game changer....
Yes Carnival operates ships out of NYC and Baltimore. Royal operates out of Bayonne NJ (across the harbor from NYC) and Boston. NCL and Holland also leave Boston sometimes. Just about everyone has cruises out of NYC actually, at least seasonally.
I have only cruised once. It was supposed to be on the Carnival Liberty, but we had changes and needed to go on the Carnival Conquest instead. It was awesome. I loved it. We are going on cruise 2 in November to the Western Caribbean on the Carnival Magic. Have a great cruise. Have a Guy's burger for me!!
Love your cruise videos, but the white balance indoors is always really off. Are you shooting in manual or auto? It appears as though auto white balance is doing you wrong…
You are way too critical! You should have seen the cruises my hubby and I used to go on. We mostly went on cruises to gamble and gambled at our destinations tho we did other things too. I have been on the new ships and love them but see nothing wrong with the older ships. A cruise is what you make it. It is nice to get away. You probably cruise too much and don’t really appreciate it.
Went on this cruise ship a few years ago and I will not go back, put it like that. It was my first cruise so I couldn’t compare it to anything else and I would still consider it the worst cruise in my opinion. Went with a group of 8 and we all agreed. Went onto royal independence of the seas and I said, “now this is a cruise experience I was looking for”.
Love the Liberty! Have cruised on her twice! It is older but it's what you make of it. I have cruised with my friend...and my whole family. We had a great time! The steakhouse is great along with the Alchemy Bar!
We get spoiled with the newer bigger ships - I went on Radiance of the Seas in Jan - a much older / smaller ship but we had an AMAZING time! The older ships tend to be less expensive -so you get what you pay for! The retractable roof on the pool is used on a lot Alaska cruises I think. Carnival is getting a rep for bad behavior on board with cruisers - hope you don't run into any of that! Enjoy every second together! THANKS For letting us tag along! Wendy Lady
First, so happy to see Casey back in vlogs. Second, I won’t be booking a Carnival cruise (never even been on a cruise, but this ship isn’t helping that.) Third, kinda over the cruises.
Yeah that strip of lights around the ceiling just gives off a super orange glow only made worse when there's red carpet. They did at least improve the color of that lighting on the Dream class ships IIRC (and then they removed that type of lighting entirely on the Vista class). They also moved to blue carpet during the Dream class's introduction.
Yes and they aren't metal detectors. You'll find them on just about every ship too they just aren't hidden in the halls on this one like they are on others.
So far I have only cruised with Carnival. I haven’t been on Liberty but have been on Sunshine, which I enjoyed. The pool on the Serenity deck is awesome. The rooms are updated to look nicer than the orange theme. And loved Guy’s burgers and breakfast at Blue Iguana cantina was my favorite. My first was on Ecstasy back in 2013 and even though it was dated, we still enjoyed it.
What is your obsession with the age of the ship? Cruise lines don’t replace multi hundred million dollar ships annually. There are brand new ships and there are 25+ year old ships. What does it matter as long as the ship has the amenities you need and is maintained. And as for the crew painting during sail-away, if they weren’t you’d prob. complain about rust.
you set yourself up for disappointment by going on the Carnival Mardi Gras before this ship! There is no way this one would compare with the Mardi Gras-one of Carnival's newest ships. I'm shocked to hear you paid more for this than the Virgin Voyages cruise though. Interested to hear how you think the food/drinks compare. Have a fun time anyway- you're on a CRUISE!
I have been on a lot of carnival cruise ships( Carnival Sunshine,Carnival Magic,Carnival Breeze,Carnival Mardi Gras and others that I don’t remember the names of.
No, you're right, "it's not Disney or Virgin or Royal", it's significantly cheaper. Liberty was my first, second, and third cruise so I've got a love for her. She is older and definitely not comparable to Virgin or Disney in any way.
Casey and Kyle are great together. I HOPE he starts to set boundaries with his female friends. I know Casey said she doesn’t mind, but they had just started talking! What else would she say? Imagine Casey taking cruise trips alone with a male friend like he plans to with Lora. Which I LOVE Lora , I just hope they reconsider taking those trips with just them two. Things are different when you’re in that adult relationship. Anyway, I know my opinion doesn’t matter but I still wanted to share. 😅
That’s being called insecure lol. She knows what’s she getting into. I’m sure he’ll set up boundaries but if a girl tells me to stop hanging with my friends that our opposite sex and she knew that before we started dating im gone.
With the holiday you definitely paid wayyy more than normal. Generally this cruise ship is offered in the lowest price bracket (we have even gotten cruise for free deals) But on Carnival they definitely know how to have a good time! Don’t miss the Piano Bar and Alchemy Bar. Happy sailing!
Your cabin is identical to ours on the Carnival Magic. Layout, bathroom, carpet, colours, balcony, all identical. Glad to see the dogs. HUGE drug issues when we were on the Magic.
Me and my two girls was on this same cruise...I heard you say Easter cruise...my oldest daughter had a birthday April 7 when this cruise actually left and came back April 10th plz let me know if this is the same one you guys were on!!!!!! We had a good time was a bit old but it didn't bother us much with how much fun we had together. Hope you guys enjoyed yourselves!!!!
I will be on Carnival Liberty from May 1st - 5th. Leave some ducks please. I'll also be on Freedom of the Seas from September 11th - 15th. Can't wait for both. Should have purchased Faster to the fun to skip some of the lines. Have a great time.
I probably would save up a bit more to go on Royal. Someone on another chat said Carnival is the Walmart of cruises. Lol 😂Hope you enjoyed, nothing better then being on vacation! 🏝️
Kyle, we have 10 Disney Cruises! 5 more in the next 9 months. :) Of course it's just the wife and I and we love Disney cruising. Have a good time. I've never been on another ship other that Disney. Disney cruises have become a major part of our senior years. LOL....
First impressions of the room...not a fan of the decor (looked old), but it did look like it had a lot of space. The natural lighting did make the room look a little better. Good for you and Casey for staying positive. Regardless of the room, I'm sure you'll still manage to have fun.
Hi Kyle, love watching your cruise videos. As a family, we went on our 1st & most likely our only Carnival cruise. I much prefer Royal!! I love the colors for one thing that Royal does vs. Carnival. Just wondering if you have gone on Anthem of the Seas? We are going on it next March to celebrate an early 50th anniversary. They have so much to do on it! We've done Adventure twice now! Love that ship! We've also sailed on other Royal ships. Maybe someday we'll cross paths on a Royal cruise!
I loved the Liberty as a kid! Going on our first Royal Caribbean Cruise in a couple of weeks on Harmony of the Seas (our first cruise in years)! I'm prepared to have my mind blown!
Hi Casey/Hi Kyle, yeah, Cruise time!! A bunch of us went on the Miracle for our bdays years ago & the cabin looks exactly the same, holy cow😅. This is how you figure out what you like when traveling right - trying things out. Looking forward to the content - have fun!!
We love Carnival here in Australia. Loved the food. Sunday Brunch is the best, and cheesecake for breakfast. We never really spent much time in our room except to sleep.
Carnival Liberty was my 1st cruise ship . We loved it . ( but we had nothing to compare it to ) it was before covid. We had NONO as our CD . She was amazing.
I’ve cruised on the Liberty years ago. It is an older ship but is way better than the Margaritaville at Sea. All the fun is on the Lido Deck. Blue iguana and Red Frog bars!! Dinner at the MDR is fun too. Casey should know about the dancing waiters. Also Love Casey’s cruise outlook!! Yeah you can’t compare the old ships and the new ones. Apples 🍎 and Oranges 🍊.
Alright my second take at Carnival and Casey’s 5th! Here’s our first impressions, part 2 will be out tomorrow… Let me tell you it actually gets way better from here
I was on the Disney Wish March 10-13
I saw Carnival Liberty
I’ve been on carnival twice
Yippeeeeeee 👏👍❤️🐶💕 Time to go cruising with Kyle and Casey🚢🚢🚢🚢🚢🚢🚢 💕
I am Platinum on Carnival. The older ships cannot be held to the same standard as the new ones.
We looked for you to go LIVE yesterday but never did!
i think the way kyle expresses his opinions are sometimes obnoxious to the point that is kinda exhausting to hear? saying "we'll keep an open mind" while just bombarding down the cruise with his opinions is just crazy to me😭 the liberty is an old cruise and nobody is gonna think its like a new one, of course is gonna look old, the liberty was my first cruise ship ever and it was literally one of my best vacations ever, i did not care how it looked like, it was the memories we made. kyle should take a look in how casey states her opinions and how she elaborates them because its insane how many times he went saying to kept an open mind when he himself isn't doing it.
I know exactly what you mean..
"We're gonna keep an open mind " "This ship is bad" 😅
You can’t compare the older ships to the newer ships
Older ships feel different but it’s a good different ❤

You can compare when they are charging similar prices if not higher
@@joshl9328 Well in this case Liberty was only higher because he booked a high demand Spring Break cruise last minute. Supply and demand wasn't on his side.
A couple weeks earlier or later and this could have been half the price of the Virgin cruise.
Yes I agree!! We go on Carnival only! But we think of the older ships as campy fun!! The more colourful the better.
Really Kyle chill out. It is an older ship. Don’t complain your blessed to do that many cruises. Much much better than Margaritaville at sea
STOP complaining!

Kyle actually drove to the cruise port 😀
When cruising, you should work your way up. I normally don't go down in cruise ship because you will be kinda disappointed.
I love how Kasey is so sweet and down to earth..Kyle I felt your pain when u walked in... but I know you guys are gonna have an awesome time.. thanks for taking us along...
Liberty was our first cruise in 2011!
The metal detectors are at the pixels exits because they put sensors on the photos to prevent theft.
Yep. Security detectors like you'll find at pretty much any store.
They were likely even at the exits of every shop even on Scarlet Lady. They're typically just hidden a bit better than this on newer ships.
Just a FYI, there are always off-site parking options for cheaper just like the airport and they usually have shuttles that bring you over and back.

Lol… step one to make the room look a LITTLE better. Change your white balance to 32K!
The room has everything you need and ya the color Ugh , but really your outside the room most of the time and I like the couch and closets it really works for use...Love the balcony game changer....
This ship is actually newer than the Disney Magic and Wonder and I would take either of them any day over this!!
I haven't seen a room with so much orange since the 70s lol
If I had to pay more for an old ship than Virgin, I would've skipped it and taken a different one later on.
I usually get inside rooms I don't cruise for the cabin so don't care about their size
Does anyone know if these cruise ship 🚢 also sail out of other ports like say NY, NJ or Boston
Yesss they have New England cruises and NCL has a cruise to Bahamas as well
Yes Carnival operates ships out of NYC and Baltimore. Royal operates out of Bayonne NJ (across the harbor from NYC) and Boston. NCL and Holland also leave Boston sometimes. Just about everyone has cruises out of NYC actually, at least seasonally.

Going on Carnival Magic in June. I went on imagination in 2012 when the fantasy class was around.
Once you been on the newer ships you can’t go back to the dated ships. It’s like getting a new car then getting an used one it’s no comparison.
Love the Liberty! Have cruised on her twice! It is older but it's what you make of it. I have cruised with my friend...and my whole family. We had a great time! The steakhouse is great along with the Alchemy Bar!
Open up the balcony curtains, and let some sunlight in!
Very excited for you! We have our very FIRST cruise on the carnival celebration this June!
Kyle ….are you keeping an open mind?
We get spoiled with the newer bigger ships - I went on Radiance of the Seas in Jan - a much older / smaller ship but we had an AMAZING time! First, so happy to see Casey back in vlogs. Second, I won’t be booking a Carnival cruise (never even been on a cruise, but this ship isn’t helping that.) Third, kinda over the cruises.
P.S. where’s the merch?!
ORANGE! 🍊!! Wow... just wow.

They did at least improve the color of that lighting on the Dream class ships IIRC (and then they removed that type of lighting entirely on the Vista class). They also moved to blue carpet during the Dream class's introduction.
Carnival’s usually one of the worse cruises to go on. Wouldn’t really touch the cruise line with a 60 foot pole but that’s just me.
Kyle, FYI - it is also Disney's 25th Birthday for Disney Cruise line. Did you hear the Disney 25th Anny tune they released?
The metal detectors are to prevent theft from the Pixels area.
Yes and they aren't metal detectors. You'll find them on just about every ship too they just aren't hidden in the halls on this one like they are on others.
Casey - I love your carry on bag. Where did you get it and what kind is it?
I second this!!
As someone who has never cruised before, I love all the cruise vlogs! Lots of honesty which is refreshing.
Thanks for showing me were fun places were I went on it
So far I have only cruised with Carnival.
I have to agree the blue iguana was good, Felt guys burgers could be a tad better
Love the Carnival Liberty I have sailed her twice . She was the first ship I ever sailed on . Love love her
for as many times you said you were gonna keep an open mind sure didnt sound like it
I think he was trying to convince himself more than us. Lol
It really depends on who you ask. There are lots of people who really don't mind it.
That’s being called insecure lol. She knows what’s she getting into. I’m sure he’ll set up boundaries but if a girl tells me to stop hanging with my friends that our opposite sex and she knew that before we started dating im gone.
You are so right.
Maybe you can keep an open mind
Ouch, err, good luck. How long do you need to survive on it?
The bathroom looks like somewhere a slasher would kill their victim.
Casey took the words right out of my mouth with the hospital lighting LOL
Bro u motivated me to take a cruise .. I just got off my Disney cruise it was life changing thank you Kyle
the liberty looks very familiar to me, I believe I was on it as a kid. makes my heart so happy
Well I’ve never been on a cruise, but after watching the last cruise you guys did, my fiancé and I just booked the Scarlet Lady for this June!
I will be on Carnival Liberty from May 1st - 5th. Leave some ducks please. I'll also be on Freedom of the Seas from September 11th - 15th. Can't wait for both. Should have purchased Faster to the fun to skip some of the lines. Have a great time.
Kyle you should try a Disney Alaska Cruise!
If you don't bring a printed Boarding Pass, they can print you a boarding pass before entering the terminal.
Kyle I believe an almost 20 year old ship cannot compare to the Mardi Gras.
I was on The carnival Liberty back in 2010. I was only 12 I remember having so much fun🤣🤣
Do they actually do massages at the spa on Carnival spas?
We love Carnival here in Australia. Loved the food. Sunday Brunch is the best, and cheesecake for breakfast. We never really spent much time in our room except to sleep.
I’ve been on 18 carnival ship 2 Norwegian 1 MSC. Will be on the celebration on May 28 and again on August 20
Carnival Liberty was my 1st cruise ship . We loved it . ( but we had nothing to compare it to ) it was before covid. We had NONO as our CD . She was amazing.
That happen to me on the last cruise. They ask have we been on a cruise and let us go (carnival legend)
Leaving in 2 weeks for the new MSC Seascape out of Miami. Cannot wait. The new ship looks amazing.
Love the cruise videos so glad you're back on another! Hope you guys have the best time!! 👍👍
Enjoy your cruise. We are sailing on the Mardi Gras on 4/15. Love Carnival 😊
In 2009 went on liberty too. Then in 2017 my husband and I were on the elation. Then in 2018 my daughter and I were 9n Disney Dream.
YOUVE CRUISED BEFORE, god give it a break.
Kyle, your next cruise should be on one of the new Celebrity Cruises ships! If you can get a balcony you'll be impressed :).
I've been looking into this and I want to go on one!!
@@kyrah7347 Its good for couples and friends, more of a chill vibe like virgin but less party.
What days is this cruise
I was on the Disney Wish at Port Canaveral for March 10-13
I saw the Carnival Liberty were u on it during that time?
Enjoy your cruise. It is the memories you make with Casey that counts. Looking forward to see more of your cruise.
