I do too! When they announced off the grid I thought there would be a little more depth to it, especially seeing as it's tied with Island Living and living off the land/sea 🙄 Maybe they will continue to work on the concept and upgrade it in the future! 🤞
I think that would be a rly good idea but without seasons it might flop a bit if that makes sense because there is no rain or “sun” (even though it’s always sunny without seasons). And if it only works for its seasons everyone will get angry about how it’s a dlc for a dlc like my first pet. Idk if this makes sense 😂
You could do a small cottage for an elder woman who people are kinda scared of but respect because she's the local healer, they think she's a witch and that's why she lives alone in the woods in her cottage. 😊
Yea I'd love bunkbeds and spiral staircases to really help with space saving. Stairs take up SO much when you might try to make a small 2 story home, and heck, spiral staircases are just really interesting looking too. (I'd also love multi-landing staircases too) I do hope they update the off grid stuff soon, I just avoid using it for now unfortunately, but this home is lovely, and will go in my game anyways as a regular lot :D
Ever since the Off-The-Grid update came out, I've found I'm useless without the subtle saucer lights :) but this build is perfect for my game! Thank you!
@@haileythompson2294 it's a lot trait. You will have no electricity and no running water, so only some showers, fridges, stoves, ... work on the lot. On the bright side you have no bills too!
This confused me for so long ☹ I played for like a week and half straight slowly redoing Sulani...but the glitches finally got to me lol I'm sure a patch is coming soon, though! Hopefully 🤣
You should definitely consider a tiny cottage in the woods with over grown ivy and a fire place. The owner could be a hunter with a hunting dog or husky to hunt better during harsh winter's. I think it's a cute idea. c:
I wish the oil lamps worked off grid too....and as for the fridge....I don't know of any fridge that works without power unless its propane....so to be more realistic...I used the icebox / coolers to keep my things cool and the wood stove was great for off grid =) as well as the grills and camp fires
It is just so so dumb that you cant use an off the grid oven without access to a fridge...none of which are off the grid! It would make more sense if having a cooler allowed you to cook basic meals. Also some of the lights seriously need looking at. I mean one of the standard lamps is clearly an oil lamp hung from a post and yet it isnt off grid!?
Love that you play test your builds. I am tired of downloading lots that look amazing but have to be gutted to actually solve the routing issues. Grear job!
This is such a cute build! I love tiny builds and this one has a perfect cabin vibe. It must have been frustrating to deal with all the off the grid glitches and the double bed not working as it should, but the end result is great!
a messy tiny house/greenhouse for a plant lover would be super cute! or it would be super cool to see you create super detailed room builds instead of whole houses even if theyre small

I think you should do a little “ trailer park series” if you building a little trailer park community with the mobile homes, community park/pool, main park office, mailboxes, etc. I think that would be super cool!!

I'm sure they can make bunk beds work. I once had a mod in Sims 2 that made it possible and I downloaded a 2x1 ladder to fit in tiny 2 floor houses. I haven't looked for anything for sims4, but I really should because the mods really helped
I think it’s because they want to make side animations work - and for all life stages too (excl. babies), so it’s just taking a lot to make them If you find mods that work, the sim sleeping in the upper bunk will most likely just teleport to it, which doesn’t look as neat (imo)

The light roped could be tea lights in little round holders. My mom's friend's wedding had a lot of little round glass doo dad's with (fake because fire) candles in then hanging from rope over the dining area in the dining tent.

depends on when you get the sims 4. they had a promotion a while ago where it was free, or for $5 during black friday/cyber monday. i'd only consider getting sims 4 stuff only on sale (i think they have a sale for all packs except for island living) but if you really like the game go for it!

If you look at the description for showers and sinks they actually show if they work off the grid. I hope a future update will do the same for fridges, and lights, etc. Anyway, this was a cute build. I am obsessed with tiny homes,.
Soo.. your double doppelganger sim-selves tripped me out lol. The washtub works only one time and then you can't refill it.. it's dumb and they need to fix that.. Awesome build, as always.

One loves everything cute and pastel, and she has a super cute dog. But the other girl loves everything black and goth, and she has a cat. Hope you like my idea!❤️
The wash tub actually works, but there's a glitch where you can't change the water. For some reason. You also can't actually clean stuff, even if it's listed as off-the-grid. There's a mod to fix the wash tub, at least, and I'm hoping the next release fixes it! Such a super cute little build, it feels so comfy!
What map is it that you are building this house on? I love the lot :o Also, the Laundry tub works to wash the clothes once. Once the water is dirty, you cannot change it because there is no plumbing. So unless you want to keep re-buying the tub in order to exchange the water, it isn't worth having it on your lot. Also, it seems that all fridges work off the grid, but only for the essentials of making sure you can cook very few recipes. But you are generally better off just having a grill instead.

Can you do a house/apartment for 7 sims that are bestfriends? I have made a household that would be perfect for that type of house! I had the candle issue too!! It was so frustrating. There’s a lot of candles with outdoor retreat but none work. Edit: there’s two form base game that work, that are like floor laps. Though they hold candles ofc.

Lili Bean actually I had it once where that wasn’t necessary. The sim would get on on one side and shuffle over to the other side.

theres a surprising amount of battery operated candles in the sims
still it doesn't take anything that will charge a electric bill, it uses batteries

The wash tubs DONT work! They work the 1st time, but you cant empty out the dirty water to wash a 2nd time.

I use a mod by Nies on Tumblr that allows wash tub water to be changed on an off-grid lot
There is a mod for this which works flawlessly! Just google "Replace Water Off-Grid Mod (Nies)"
they need to fix off the grid trait. its great that it is in the game, but it needs to be fix. and FAST. :)

It's kind of annoying that you can't really have a writer live in an off-the-grid house because they need a computer.
I mean - yes - but also there is a mod for that.
There is a mod that adds a typewriter that only works for writing :-)
Which I now realize I have no idea if it works off-grid as it hasn't been updated, but you can test it, it's called "writers lore typewriter"

EA has animations they can use for bunks. They have bunks in freeplay, and they could use ladder animations from pool ladders.
