Interesting, maybe business is projected to indeed increase for the CPR as indicated by one of the previous comments. Exciting to hear of shortlines growing!
This line has potential to become exponentially busier IF the proposed Rivian motors plant near Rutledge is built and seeks competitive rail service and if certain STB initiatives are enacted regarding reciprocal switching.....
Those are nice i believe to be older locomotives, correct me if i'm wrong on that. I see videos where the older ones are being scrapped. That's sad. I like the older engines I guess i'm just old fashioned great video good job thanks stay safe out there.
Yes, all three locomotives are rebuilt from original GP40 specs to GP40-3 specs. New electronics and such. For instance, 7003 started life as a Denver Rio Grande & Western unit in 1966. I agree, pretty cool to see something over 50 years old still earning its keep. Thanks for the comment and kind words!
Greetings good sir, may I request using a clip of this footage in a video I'm currently making? All credits will be given in the video and the description, and if you choose not to share, it's all good. Have a good day, and Happy Independence Day. :)
@@CSXAC4400CWno5112 nobody on ytube rail fans Monticello when it comes through I'm really surprised. Get there by Town square and you can get some really scenic shots as it kind of goes through the old curves. It's an old southern line from back in the day originally isn't it thanks for replying
@@truckerkevthepaidtourist I’ve done it once, but wish I had more footage. The train that runs the line used to be pretty consistent, but now it depends on the day. There’s also a lot of traffic fluctuation, as Georgia Pacific in Madison flip flops between CSX and CPR/NS. Not worth the drive on a hunch, unfortunately. I know it’s been documented in the past though, more so in still photography. Yep, ex-Southern!
great video
@@kelvintorrence5994 Thank you!
Excellent shot. 👍👍The shortline was unknown to me. Thanks for showing it. Andreas 👨✈👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great video my friend!
Thank you sir, been enjoying your recent postings as well!
Thanks for ALL of your Time and Efforts assembling this video. 👍
Absolutely, I enjoy it so I’m glad you enjoy it too!
Amazing video, very well done! I love shortlines in general and also the sound of the GP40, so this was a perfect combination for me! Subscribed 😊
@@SpringfieldAndWestern Thanks so much, glad to have you on board!
Top👍
Thank you!
Superb video!
Thank you, always fun compiling shortline clips!
I heard there is another GP40 coming to the Madison line which will give it four GP40's on this line.

I also heard the Valdosta line will be getting another GP40 and the Thomaston line will have the two SW1500's on it.
Amazing video man keep it up
Thank you for the kind words!

Would certainly be interesting to see them running on the CSX GA Sub, and would be possible with the existing connection at GP.

@@LocoPro Sure thing, thanks for asking!
Is that one when it takes off from shadydale back to Macon the one that goes rumbling through Monticello?
Same line, different railroad. NS runs a local from Macon to Shady Dale and back to interchange cars with the CPR.
