    Thank you for taking the time to make this video!
    The visual of each different ingredient helped tremendously.
    Seeing the base white house paint, the triple-thick, etc in their containers makes it so much easier to understand and know what to purchase.
    One question..... what is the difference between pigment powder vs mica powder?

    I agree with Phil, the information is confusing. I for one appreciate his jumping in and asking clarifying questions. Sometimes when we've done something a bunch of times we lose sight that our audience doesn't know everything we do and we skip steps. So I say to Phil, "Keep asking questions, they're very helpful!" 😉 I got lost almost from the beginning; the glue recipe for a PM is to mix with your colored paints, correct? And the Floetrol recipe is for your base? So this means you use two different recipes for one painting?

    Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. Just love you two. Do tell....what would the 80/40/30 combo on colored paints be - if using cheaper paints such as deco art, applebarrel, etc?? Can't afford the big name stuff yet - or see paying that until I feel my paintings are decent. Would you just not add the distilled water? This looks like a zero trace to me. Even thinner than the Glue-All PM you just showed. I feel my paints need to be thinner, so I'm anxious to try your recipe. Thanks guys!!! You rock!! So fun too watch. Love, love, love!

    • @franklyfrancis9134
      @franklyfrancis9134 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes im wondering the same thing. My guess is that if you are wanting your paint to flow like on a pour or if you plan to tilt etc that you would want it thinner. Otherwise maybe just regular house paint? Also, with the glue and water mixture, my assumption is that you wont get any cells. Is the glue recipe one you would add a drop or two of silicone to in order to get the cell effect?

    Most scales measure weight eg grams or ounces, but you seem to be measuring volumes in mls instead of weight.

      @@PaintPouringbyKathleenMiller I have just gotten into pour painting since the pandemic. Watching it is more zen than DOING it, though! I watched another artist, Gail Burstyn, do schmears, applying the cell activator with a cake knife. Fun. She used a ratio of 1 part Amsterdam black oxide or titanium white to 4 parts Floetrol. It worked for me. You use 1 part paint to 2 parts Floetrol, right? I have everything in place except the puppy pool, because I can' t wait to try your stained glass. My daughter, a sculptor, produced 2 turntables for me! I am a laboratory scientist by profession ( retired), and therefore pretty anal. I got big and small cells with Gail's method. I can't wait to try yours! Wish me luck!

I appreciate so much that you’re giving us The correct recipes, but I don’t understand where the poly acrylic comes in. I didn’t see it in your demonstration. It could be because since they were such big cans you couldn’t use the big cans so you had to put stuff in small cups so they’re for the Cubs didn’t have the same labelling as the cans. I hope I’m not confusing you!! Please please please help to UNconfuse me

      Paint Pouring by Kathleen Miller Thank you! I look forward to that answer. I appreciate you getting back to me so quickly. You always answer my questions, and I find that so refreshing. I love how artists will help other artists. I’m a textile artist “by trade“, but I fell in love with acrylic painting. Or I should say I phone in love with the “pouring and “… I just wish I had more successes. I think I’m using too small of a canvas as well. I know the blue technique using the small canvas and the spend table or cake table but as far as actual paint pouring and moving paint around on the canvas, I’m having a lot of trouble. Who am I kidding? I’m having troubleWith all of it!
