You are amongst the small numbers of tourists who have discovered about the mall culture/life styles of Malaysians in the Klang valley, and you have ventured away from the city centre! It really does not matter if One Utama is the largest mall or not (as there are many different ways of comparison), rather it shows how the mall has developed into a place where the community have access to a diversity of activities inside a mall. Besides what you have shown in this video, do know that this mall is connected to the Bandar Utama MRT station which can lead you right into the city center, it has an art performing center, ballet school, cliff climbing facilities, 2 cinemas, roller skating ring, 3 grocers including a Korean grocer etc etc.....
Oh we didn’t know it was connected to a MRT station! It is not easy to find all that information as a foreigner 🙈 but the mall is amazing yes, so many things to do!! So sad that we missed the climbing though..

The mall has 2 supermarkets (aeon, jaya grocer), 3 department store(marks and spencer, Parkson, Aeon), 2 cinemas(gsc and tgv) and rock climbing that you missed. There is also a secret garden on the 5th floor.
This mall, is literally the mall of my childhood. Back then when i was around 5, i only discovered a portion of 1 utama, it was then i realized this place is a lot bigger than i thought. I'm now 20, and to see how far this mall has come and changed throughout the years really makes me happy 😊 I had a lot of fun memories here, from exploring, dining, playing at the hidden arcade(Cross Fire), to even participating in BEYBLADE BURST TOURNAMENTS 😂 ahh those were the days

IOI City Mall is 2.5 million sq. ft., while 1 Utama City Centre is 5.59 million sq. ft. Referring this from both their website. 1 Utama is the largest mall in Malaysia, they also have way more shops.
The largest mall in Kuala Lumpur is Berjaya Time Square where there is an indoor theme park inside the mall. The largest mall in Malaysia is IOI City Mall in Putrajaya which also the 2nd largest in the world. One Utama that you have visited is the former largest mall in the country and 11th largest in the world.
Nice 24hr adventure. If you like, do a 48hr adventure in Sunway. Stay in Sunway Hotel, Spend a day in Sunway Lagoon water park, Sunway Pyramid mall, inside the mall, there's bowling, skating rink, archery, etc. 😁

there is also a massive rooftop garden with plenty of interesting plants including some very rare ones.. and its literally called the "secret garden". can only be accessed by one elevator in the entire mall for the public. its about a 1/4 way into the new wing if you are walking from the old wing.
You can literally find anything you want at 1U!! And tbh between 1U n IOI, for some ungodly reason I personally always feel suffocated at ioi like there's this sorta dense atmosphere (I'm gonna say the vibes are off) but at 1U u just get a good workout for leg day and even then there are benches to rest at. I can actually BREATHE at 1U without some oddly spooky n negative dense blanket suffocating me as compared to ioi. But that's just my 2 cents.
I loved malls since I loved window shopping and also because of air conditioning. I mean you wouldn't want to be outside during the day when its scorching hot so I believe Malaysia's mall culture is here to stay for long time.

1 Utama definitely is bigger than ioi city mall, proven by me sore leg 😂. I guess IOI claimed that they are largest mall is just because they included the IOI farm city area and convention hall which is not the retail area. Maybe largest in size but not largest in shopping experience. Ioi city mall big yet empty. hehe
tbh even as Malaysian, I myself not sure which one bigger/biggest. Berjaya Times Square, One Utama, Mid Valley, Sunway Pyramid or ioi PutraJaya. i suggest u check out all of em

From previous comments I’ve understood that there is public transport going to the mall. If that’s right, you can stay in Kuala Lumpur centre and just go there for a few hours 😄
A number of comments say the largest mall is not this 1 Utama mall but IOI City mall. True but IOI City mall is in Putrajaya, not Kuala Lumpur. I Utama is the largest mall in Kuala Lumpur - and that's the title of this video.
i'm glad you had fun at the mall but here's a little criticism? when you're in southeast asia(except singapore) it's best to be a little more careful when talking about how cheap it is there because the locals don't earn as much as the westerners. when you keep saying how cheap it is it's kinda like you're rubbing it in on them when they're already struggling to make ends meet. no hate though ❤️
