Thank you sir! I wanted something that looked factory but preformed WAY better! Glad you enjoyed the video. I will be posting future videos of the details on the install.
Very nice setup for easy movement to operate from different locations. I have something similar with my jeep and there I move the radio head to the table on the back of the jeep to operate. I keep cables and plug them in since there is little area to run cable in a 2 door jeep. Enjoy and I look forward to your discussion on the ATAS.
Looks great! I'm sure I'd dump a big Dr Pepper all over that radio position!!! It's probably going to be one of those Lido mounts for me, 'cause I'm a such a SLOB!!! Nice work! Very impressive! 🤣
The telescoping pole I have is the DX Commander 10m pole. It was leftover from when I had my Classic setup. I’m not sure about the exact dimensions, but the hitch mount has a 2-inch square opening. I had to sand down some of the plastic on the end of the DX Commander mast to make it fit properly.
I have a man pack 981 with short whip antena . I can hear people but I could not get anyone to hear me. What shame I never got to make a contact . So much money spent
I'm sorry to hear that. I'm curious, though, why you're using a short whip antenna. If you're operating on 10 meters, that might be fine, but for the other bands, I strongly recommend using a wire antenna. If you're budget-conscious, you might want to consider picking up a Reliance antenna. holy crappppppp lol. that has got to be the most stealth and professional install of any ham radio EVER!!!!!!!!!

Awesome, man! Thanks for the follow! Hope you enjoy the setup as much as I enjoyed building it!

Where can I find that hitch mount & the telescoping mast?

Nice install. What model is the telescopic pole, and what is the diamater of pole mount? Thanks.
