congrats Anthony and Jess! awesome job guys! it is super cool seeing you guys disassemble my engine. may god have mercy on my engine and my wallet 🙏🙌 Thanks Craig and Rusty! You guys are the best in the business hands down!
I would definitely replace those air/oil separators with the newest rev units from MB. As you may have heard, they clog up over time and create lots of crankcase pressure that ultimately blows out the RMS and Valve cover gaskets. I would also do the RMS with the newer designed unit and check the valve covers as well. Obviously I would also do plugs and belts while I was in there. Not sure if this is a rebuild or just tear down for giggles though. The PVC and RMS in the 18-19 M177 motors are known to be problematic. You could also install the 63 motorsports catch can set up to eliminate the issue.
@RadFox1320 Awesome vehicles. Great value. I have GXP #938 of 1829 and it's a keeper. I daily a '18 E63s but the G8 always puts a smile on my face while driving.

do you need to pull the engine to replace the air:oil separator?
@ No but they are a bitch to replace with the engine fully installed.
Rusty threw that harness around his shoulders like he displaying a WWE championship belt😂
World champion 🏆
That is an extremely busy engine!
Too busy! Especially for water!
Ahhh, you guys touched hands!
When do you guys want to do the fuel system and dyno my M276?
Can you not pull the ECU out easily out through the driver side wheel well if you pull the liner back? I think that’s how my car modder does it
No unfortunately not
What's with the G8 GXP bumper?
There is a twin turbo G8 in that shop
@@danvincent3442 ya, it’s Phil’s!

Does it really need to be designed that complicated?
If it was port injection it would make twice the power with half the work
Was this engine low mileage ? Idk how the hell your thermostat game out so easily , mine at 50,000km was seized in.
i dont know why there are so many plastic pipes, all of my mercedeshave gone in the shop for cracked pipes.
Yes it's crazy!
How long did they let that thing rust before deciding to tear it apart? Need some insulation in that place or you might die in a couple days lol.
It's cold! A good while and I was told all the water was out of it. But we will bring it back stronger 💪
I'd like to hear the story of how this guy destroyed his engine. This is well beyond normal wear and tear.
Sucked in water
Common on these cars. A poor design from Mercedes.
yeah the intakes act like mini straws
