I just feel like every time when Abe fails to to do actual judo against Maruyama he starts playing the Shido game. And it’s much easier for him to do - he’s a sleeve player. And on the other hand Maruyama goes for a score every time. And unfortunately the international scene favors Abe’s style more.

It was not so clear this time no? There was a good sequence at the end when they fight with a lot of commitment.

The Mongolian girls name is pronounced as Enkriilen. the name on her back Lkhavgatogoo is her fathers name since Mongolians dont have last names and that one is definitely hard to pronounce.

Well, head dives are Hansoku-make, BECAUSE players did it per choice.
They are risking serious neck injuries by doing so. (Same for landing in the bridge position.) The rule is there to protect the player´s health and to stop them to even try to do this shit.

The interesting thing about Deguchi and Klimkait is that they had 10 points of difference between them in the rankings, at least before this competition. As far as I know, it's the smallest difference between any two competitors of any weight class.

Let's be honest. Rules are rules and you've got to adapt to them. Of course no one wants to see a final decided by Hansoku make and of course you'd even less see Hansoku when it appeared to be a stunning throw on first sight.
And Heydarov puts down his head and turns with all his weight on it while Abuladze spins in the air with no pressure on his head whatsoever.

I still hate when the strategy is about Shido and less about, you know, Judo.
Makes it less a martial sport and more a game.
I don't understand Judo that well yet, but I still get the feeling that the ruleset is surpressing certain aspects of Judo that I personally find very interesting.
      Kumi-kata and patience mostly.
I loved watching Abe and Haruyama fight for position and grip. Their balance and movement is amazing. But the rules broke their fight apart evertime they took their time. A shame how the rules rushed a fight that is soo rare in quality.

Recently you mean? Because the rule about having to get the judogi tight at each pause is a real relief for me. I'm French, but I couldn't stand watching some French judokas always with the judogi out of the belt, or loosing their belt when Japanese fighters always had a neat aspect (and some magical belt knot which didn't get loose...). I'm talking if I'm correct of 15 years ago. The judogi also became less baggy and the general visual impression is way better.

I wasn't convinced by the Lombardo head dive... soon athletes will shave their hair so it doesn't accidentally touch the mat. Come to think of it maybe that's why they do that in Japanese student judo competition 😅 ;-)

They don't get care about the effect their countless unnecessary regulations might have on judo; they are just happy to be able play GOD with our sport. I wonder whether we should call him Jigoro Vizer or Marius Kano at that point seeing his ludicrous will to enforce his hand on a sport that was doing just fine before him.

The refereeing is at the lowest point in the sport. Lombardo got screwed in the final, it wasn't a head dive but the natural flow of the throw. Still, head diving should be allowed. But the referee at 5:57 should definitely be fired. Shido for kicking? Shido for untidy gi?? She also has the narcissist's body language. The refs and the ones that make the stupid rules are destroying the sport.

  • @jason.0329

  • @aqiria

Defensive head diving disqualification definitely makes sense and should stay as hansoku-make, without it all the athletes would try to do the dangerous thing to avoid the ippon.

I train at the same club as Qona, you say KwO Na. Sooo cool you featured her... on the leg kick shido, I have to disagree with u. He didn't even have a grip. If u don't penalise that, where do u draw the line? That was a soft one but leg kicks can be painful and aren't in the sport

    • @JudoHighlights2015
      @JudoHighlights2015  ปีที่แล้ว

I guess it's difficult to draw the line. Even if he didn't have a grip it stops them in their tracks... He's been doing it for years. It's not like it's shin to shin either, just the underside of the foot. Thanks for telling me how to say Qona's name! Hopefully she'll appear in more of my videos in the future!
