I think I encountered one in Area Zero, but it knocked itself out before I could catch it. Sadly, I forgot to save beforehand as I didn't realize its rarity at the time.

I’ve tried this and so far haven’t got any 3 segment ones. But when I placed the 2, 3 segment dudunsparce in Amy boxes and I cannot find them. Every single dudunsparce has been turned into 2 segment I don’t know why this happened

Nope. Once a Dunsparce appears on the field or it hatches from a egg its likelyhood to become three segment Dudunsparce. Is like how Wurmple only can become a Silcoon or Cascoon.

I got a 3 segment on my second attempt, but I’ve evolved dozens of maushold and haven’t found a single family of 3 😭

I found two mausholds family of 3 in solo raids that I did just for fun. But I didn't catch them because at the time I wasn't planning to use them for my team. And I always prefer to catch my pokemon in their stage.

What if you capture a Dunsparce - can those still evolve into the 3-segment Dudunsparce? Because I captured 108 when there was one of those multi-encounteres (don't know the english name for this thing) and I evolved around half of them now, since I will go to sleep soon. Yet all of them so far just evolved into the 2-segment Dudunsparce

How do you get hyper drill on the offspring? I'm using a mirror herb and nothing

Both male and female dudunsparce must know the move hyperdrill. The offspring should know it without mirror herb.
