The quality of girls in Pattaya has been dropping for years, but it fell off the cliff after COVID. What has also dropped is visitors'/residents' standards about the girls they will go with or sponsor. Most average or below-average ladies have sponsors and/or have no problem achieving steep prices from customers. In reality, there were never so many 9s and 10s in Pattaya, but there used to be lots of 7s and 8s. When I first came to Pattaya in 2001, the average lady was about 26 years old, 0/1 kid, 1 small tattoo, 54 kilos and rated in IMO 6.5. On my recent visit a couple of months ago, the average working lady was about 37 years old, 2/3 kids, 6/7 tattoos, 67 kilos, and rated 5.5. The most beautiful ladies I saw in Pattaya were either bemused foreign tourists or daytrippers from Bangkok. Pattaya is not the place to meet really beautiful Thai ladies. Better learn some Thai and go to a Thai club and try and snag some regular ladies with normal jobs.

Just seen this video. I'm the first guy. Cringing watching that lol. Ok, so she never controlled me here in Patong, but she switched big time up in Essan. The being with family you haven't seen for a long time I get, but I didn't realize it would be from the minute you wake up until you passed out drunk at whatever time, That's not what we agreed when I agreed to go. Saving face? No chance, being taken up there and being treated like a mug, not doing that and definitely not paying to go. I did leave in the middle of the night after, waited for her to pass out, got all my bits in a rucksack. There was no taxis or grabs or bolts, trust me. It was 2 miles to the nearest main road, then another 6 miles to the main town, Rattanaburi. Walked it and had belt in hand and stones, was approached by god knows how many dog packs! I just charged them and they mostly ran off. Packs of 5 dogs in the middle of the night not nice :-) Made it to 7/11 and asked for a taxi. Was told there was none but that was actually the location of the bus station. In between all this, she had woken up and was calling me. Not long after arriving at 7/11 some of her family arrived in a pick up truck to try and convince me to go back, which I didn't. Its about 5 am now and the first bus was 7 or 8 am. About half hour late, some taxi motorbike bloke approaches me and tells me he's been instructed to take me back to the house. No way mate! Another half hour I see her come to the bus station on a bike, so I hid behind some old busses. After about 30 minutes, I came out thinking she would have gone but she was still there. More people are at the bus station now. She broke down in tears and begged me to come back in front of everyone, for about an hour. I did feel like cracking because I felt sorry for her but I did not crack. Eventually, she gave up and drove off and I got the bus to Bangkok and the plane to Phuket and got my bits. I've seen her back here and she's begged me to try again. How I met her is another story i'll send in one day. Writing it like this it doe's not sound so bad but the whole experience was horrific being largely ignored, constantly being asked for money and being told how other falang have built big houses for their wives. Even met one of her friends, a woman who spoke good English, married to a German guy who spends 10 months in Germany and 2 months in Thailand because he is poor apparently, whilst at the same time meeting her Thai husband who lives in the house 10 months of the year! Nice people! Seemed to me like the whole village is in on the act. I could write loads on this! Dan, thanks for your advice on that one mate needed to speak to someone who could relate to the situation. My mates in England were saying just call a cab and tell her to F off, but as you know it's not as easy as that and they have never been to Thailand!
I think it is something like a "penned demand": a lot of customers could not get what they wanted during the COVID time and now they all come to Pattaya during the same holiday season and desperately overpay the relatively small number of bar girls for their service. It reminds me of the price bidding wars we had in Canada in 2020-2021 when a lot of people offered 10% over the ask price trying to purchase a house. Too many buyers 😉 Here is the same, too many mongers for one pretty girl. And too many guys agree to pay for these ridiculous "lady drinks" to the extent of "ringing a bell" (which is extremely expensive and unreasonable). Hey guys, stop tossing your money left and right! You are spoiling the girls and basically ruining the destination.
The dynamic has definitely changed here in Pattaya and everyone has a bad night. He's was here for 2 weeks and was striking out every night? Seems to me that he's doing something wrong. There are hundreds maybe even thousands of lovely ladies here. Does he dress nice? Does he smell good? Was he too drunk? Did he buy the ladies a few drinks to loosen them up? Was he respectful? If you want to win the game you need to master it. What kind of lady are you trying to find? A hot 11 tattooed from head to foot? It can be done mate. Not as easy as before tho. My opinion only, but I live here in Pattaya so maybe what I'm saying makes sense. You don't have to really be that good, you just have to be better than the normal sukerpruk.
I can understand what your saying. It is achievable yes, however the men are the ones now doing the chasing instead of being chased. I’m in my 30’s and probably a 7/10, look a bit like Dan 555, and definitely don’t have hygiene issues 😂. I did find one very nice lady but it took a few bell rings to earn her face in front of her friends untill she would go with me. Defiantly achievable just a lot harder and have to be prepared to go home alone most nights.

Regarding the last story, TH-camr @everything pattaya went out looking where all the 9s and 10s had gone. He finally found all of them in clinged into one place called the PinUp Bar which mainly had Korean customers. Others have mentioned that the 9s and 10s are in Bangkok with better opportunities and chance for model jobs.
It’s a tricky situation to be in. Scary and feeling helpless. I’ve been in that situation back in the mid 90s in Surat Thani. I ended up staying with a bar girl I met in Koh Samui. Back at her mums house it was fast going stale. When I said I was leaving she grabbed a big ass kitchen knife and threatened me with it up close and in my face. I calmed her down and then spent two days just appeasing her and then early in the morning while she was still asleep I just took my passport and money and the clothes I had on and did a runner. It’s not easy to do. You don’t know what’s what and who’s who! I was scared shitless and that was in the days before mobile phones etc. I jumped on the first bus I saw and got to the train station and the first train to Bkk. That’s the short version of the story. Anyway mate, my advice is forget your belongings in Patpong and whatever. Just grab your essentials and get out of there. Just ask a random motorcycle to take you to town. Offer a few hundred baht. But yeah if you can just forget your possessions thats half the battle won. You can replace all that crap.

@@bbqbod For sure....every time I went to pattaya over the years, which was probably about six times, another layer was peeled off revealing the reality of just how seedy and disgusting that whole environment was to the point i just hated it. I still love Thailand but I never visit pataya anymore. Its just a very bad depiction of Thai life.
I think they are just emotionally unstable and find it hard to deal with difficult emotions but of course if they are into drugs or alcohol or prostitution then this is going to become a lot more elevated
Went there twice in 2022 10 weeks all up and the girls have changed alot they ask stupid prices and definitely just want you to buy them drinks and if a girl does go with you they only want short time and you do hear the I have period line alot more hope it changes soon otherwise people will go to other places
In pattaya now every has changed Been coming here for 25 years ,its like every place that gets to popular They start to over charge And then its a downward slope.
On leaving from the village you have to make up a bs story to save face. You have to leave cause your buffalo back home is in the hospital! You can't just say like it is. Either that or outright escape. You will feel so relived once you get out of this relationship. A story that involves hope of some reward for them would also make things a lot easier.
Totally agree regarding girl quality in Pattaya, I didn't see many hot girls on my 2 week trip, same story in Bangkok. Possibly all the hot girls are working from home on their webcams :-) .
I went there for the first time a few weeks ago early in December. The lady drinks are very small drinks and many times containing no alcohol they drink it very fast .
Got to have a little bit of a think about the industry these girls are working in. They have to deal with the drags of the world who come to Pattaya and think they can do what the hell they want with them. If they want a night or two off, or be a bit fussier in who they go home with do you blame them! These girls don’t want to do what they’re doing for a living, but it’s the only option they’ve got to earn a fraction of what we earn back home for sitting in an office all day!
Many bait and switch bars operating in the LK metro / Soi pothole area. A few pretties to lure customers but they all have their period. Then they try and dump their ugly co workers on you.
Quiting smoking was the hardest thing ever. I can't count how many times I tried to quit and failed. I started smoking in my late teens and didn't quit for good until my 40s. I'm 60 now and hoping I cheated the devil out of cancer, stroke, emphysema etc. So far so good. What finally worked for me was the patch and the drug wellbutran. I didn't use the stages of the 3 patch sizes. I just bought the large ones, but cut them in a planned way to implement an exponential taper. So a long time of tinier and tinier patches. So small I had to use surgical tape to hold them on. Key for me was to realize, once I quit I can't have any cigarettes ever, not even one, or I am back to being a smoker. After you quit and adjust, and start feeling OK, the occasional impulse or thought to light up becomes less frequent as time passes, but takes years to finally go away.
Very true. That's the biggest problem to get over, it takes years to eliminate the want to smoke, where it doesn't feel like a need any more. But it could avoid a lot of pain down the track.
Yes it’s very hard. I’m 36 and tried 7 times over the last years. But this time the 8th time I know most of the possible trigger points and it was much easier to quit. But I try to be active all the time (gym f.e), don’t stay in places where people can smoke right next to me, stopped smoking weed too (with or without tobacco mixed) and so on. Good luck Dan and everybody who is about to quit.
@@belze0n885 There's hardly any where in Pattaya you can go where foreigners are not smoking. I estimate about 80% of them smoke and its allowed everywhere.

I might always be a supporter of smoking in bars (but in case I lived in a place like Pattaya I would probably move to another city for 3 months where its easier to avoid and still not get drunk for this time). I have been to Phuket and I didn't feel it was that extreme and it was avoidable. But back then I still smoked and I wonder how my perception would changed now that I stopped. Have a good day.
@@belze0n885 I'm an ex smoker to and when you are still smoking, you don't notice just how many people smoke until "you are on the other side of the fence". Smoke is only avoidable in aircon restaurants or outside bars, even outdoor open bars you still have most foreigners smoking around you, its just not as bad as indoors.

I gave up smoking nearly 30 years ago and still think it's the best thing I've ever done so stick with it. As for the story about bar girls, like the saying goes, things ain't what they used to be, so it's a case of get used to the new normal, unless you are young (Korean) and have wads of cash.

I was in Patts in November, I was working half the time, but I went out daily for a few hours at least, and it is true. I saw young 1-2 pretties tops in Treetown area. Soi Pothole saw 1-2 again, a bit more on LK Metro Area, but even some of the go-gos that previously had many pretties, like Champagne, had 1-2 tops. Walking street had the most and gogo bars like XS-gogo, Pinup had many girls, but all were 3ST, 5LT plus 1500-2000bf. Insomnia had 0 both nights I went. There are many girls on dating apps, but they mostly only want STs. I still like Soi 6 and massage places on Soi Honey with the pricing still more constant, but it is hit and miss.

yes Pattaya has changed of course (I'm here now) and this is my first time back in 4yrs and pre 2015 I lived in Thailand for 15yrs so I've seen many changes and while a better than average looking girl now wants more it is still cheaper for all night here than some Polish or Romanian in the UK who wants £120 for 1 hour

Hi Dan, did the trip to Chiang Mai then onto Mai Hong Son. Chiang Mai full of tourists but OK. Drove straight through the tourist / backpacker trap called Pai! Then went to Mai Hong Son! Loved the place, OK --I can speak a little Thai but wow! Really nice friendly people, bought food at Thai prices--'a million miles' from all the Pattaya / Phuket bullshit! Serene, decent al of what foreigners need to learn about Thailand! * Some really pretty ladies about in Chiang Mai ! Tall, slim, long hair, no tats--really wished I was a young guy again! Stunning! I’ve been in Bangkok for 4 days and all has been good , up until now. Just encountered my first drink Queen scammer in a very popular Soi cowboy bar. On duty mamasan was zero help , lots of smiling and saying sorry but nothing else. On the other hand online booking with Smooci has been a 100% cracking experience / 5 stars👍.
I was in Pattaya in December for 11 days solo and fortunately had an awesome experience. Got a soapy, massage in room and saw 3 different ladies at affordable LT prices. Soapy gal was an 8 and last gal I saw a 10 in my opinion and she was the best down to earth gal. Saw her for last 4 days and she even brought another gal out of bar with us one night. I am going back in 28 days for a full month with her she is leaving bar for that month so no bar fine. This was on SOI 6 so maybe the “period” gals were somewhere else. tourists drop after Songkran (mid-April) and it picks back up late October. great temperature year-round, just prepare for the rain. we take our family (domestic) holidays in May and October. the 5-star resorts are empty and cheap.

@@zacghent8564 officially rainy season starts in late August and ends at Loi Krathon (early November). the monks go into hiding for 3 months. the beaches get frequent rain and thunderstorms (tropical storms) May to August but they pass by fast (like Florida). its pretty dry in Isaan most of the year except August to November. i'm not sure about Chiang Mai.

Similar incident happened with Dan with a previous gf. I guess the violent tendacies are not uncommon there, especially with the toughened bar girls.

@@bbqbod For sure....every time I went to pattaya over the years, which was probably about six times, another layer was peeled off revealing the reality of just how seedy and disgusting that whole environment was to the point i just hated it. I still love Thailand but I never visit pataya anymore. Its just a very bad depiction of Thai life.

Went there twice in 2022 10 weeks all up and the girls have changed alot they ask stupid prices and definitely just want you to buy them drinks and if a girl does go with you they only want short time and you do hear the I have period line alot more hope it changes soon otherwise people will go to other places

On leaving from the village you have to make up a bs story to save face. You have to leave cause your buffalo back home is in the hospital! You can't just say like it is. Either that or outright escape. You will feel so relived once you get out of this relationship. A story that involves hope of some reward for them would also make things a lot easier.
Totally agree regarding girl quality in Pattaya, I didn't see many hot girls on my 2 week trip, same story in Bangkok. Possibly all the hot girls are working from home on their webcams :-) .

Quiting smoking was the hardest thing ever. I can't count how many times I tried to quit and failed. I started smoking in my late teens and didn't quit for good until my 40s. I'm 60 now and hoping I cheated the devil out of cancer, stroke, emphysema etc. So far so good. What finally worked for me was the patch and the drug wellbutran. I didn't use the stages of the 3 patch sizes. I just bought the large ones, but cut them in a planned way to implement an exponential taper. So a long time of tinier and tinier patches. So small I had to use surgical tape to hold them on. Key for me was to realize, once I quit I can't have any cigarettes ever, not even one, or I am back to being a smoker. After you quit and adjust, and start feeling OK, the occasional impulse or thought to light up becomes less frequent as time passes, but takes years to finally go away.
Very true. That's the biggest problem to get over, it takes years to eliminate the want to smoke, where it doesn't feel like a need any more. But it could avoid a lot of pain down the track.
Yes it’s very hard. I’m 36 and tried 7 times over the last years. But this time the 8th time I know most of the possible trigger points and it was much easier to quit. But I try to be active all the time (gym f.e), don’t stay in places where people can smoke right next to me, stopped smoking weed too (with or without tobacco mixed) and so on. @@wayneparkes1350 Very Interesting, I have never been to Pattaya, this is a crazy amount of smoker. I might always be a supporter of smoking in bars (but in case I lived in a place like Pattaya I would probably move to another city for 3 months where its easier to avoid and still not get drunk for this time). I have been to Phuket and I didn't feel it was that extreme and it was avoidable. But back then I still smoked and I wonder how my perception would changed now that I stopped. Have a good day.

Smoke is only avoidable in aircon restaurants or outside bars, even outdoor open bars you still have most foreigners smoking around you, its just not as bad as indoors.

I was in Patts in November, I was working half the time, but I went out daily for a few hours at least, and it is true. I saw young 1-2 pretties tops in Treetown area. Soi Pothole saw 1-2 again, a bit more on LK Metro Area, but even some of the go-gos that previously had many pretties, like Champagne, had 1-2 tops. Walking street had the most and gogo bars like XS-gogo, Pinup had many girls, but all were 3ST, 5LT plus 1500-2000bf. Insomnia had 0 both nights I went. There are many girls on dating apps, but they mostly only want STs. I still like Soi 6 and massage places on Soi Honey with the pricing still more constant, but it is hit and miss.

Just spent five weeks there and around Thailand myself. Didn't really have a problem with any of the girls. There's maybe not as many as there was before Covid. yes Pattaya has changed of course (I'm here now) and this is my first time back in 4yrs and pre 2015 I lived in Thailand for 15yrs so I've seen many changes and while a better than average looking girl now wants more it is still cheaper for all night here than some Polish or Romanian in the UK who wants £120 for 1 hour

Hi Dan, did the trip to Chiang Mai then onto Mai Hong Son. Chiang Mai full of tourists but OK. Drove straight through the tourist / backpacker trap called Pai! Then went to Mai Hong Son! Loved the place, OK --I can speak a little Thai but wow! Really nice friendly people, bought food at Thai prices--'a million miles' from all the Pattaya / Phuket bullshit! Serene, decent al of what foreigners need to learn about Thailand! * Some really pretty ladies about in Chiang Mai ! Tall, slim, long hair, no tats--really wished I was a young guy again! Stunning! When I was in Pattaya yes definitely but since venturing north the foreigners seem respectable for the most part. I can say that one night I was out at a bar about 4am and a strange unkept guy from Britain stumbled in. The guy looked like he has been sleeping outside and was obviously an alcoholic. We engaged in conversation and he was having all types of issues. I chatted a few minutes and made my leave. But me being out late in rare so maybe that's why I don't run into this type often. I also keep my circle really tight..

I’ve been in Bangkok for 4 days and all has been good , up until now. Just encountered my first drink Queen scammer in a very popular Soi cowboy bar. On duty mamasan was zero help , lots of smiling and saying sorry but nothing else. On the other hand online booking with Smooci has been a 100% cracking experience / 5 stars👍.
I was in Pattaya in December for 11 days solo and fortunately had an awesome experience. Got a soapy, massage in room and saw 3 different ladies at affordable LT prices. Soapy gal was an 8 and last gal I saw a 10 in my opinion and she was the best down to earth gal. Saw her for last 4 days and she even brought another gal out of bar with us one night. I am going back in 28 days for a full month with her she is leaving bar for that month so no bar fine. This was on SOI 6 so maybe the “period” gals were somewhere else. tourists drop after Songkran (mid-April) and it picks back up late October. great temperature year-round, just prepare for the rain. we take our family (domestic) holidays in May and October. the 5-star resorts are empty and cheap.

@@zacghent8564 officially rainy season starts in late August and ends at Loi Krathon (early November). the monks go into hiding for 3 months. the beaches get frequent rain and thunderstorms (tropical storms) May to August but they pass by fast (like Florida). its pretty dry in Isaan most of the year except August to November. i'm not sure about Chiang Mai.

Theres only one way to stop smokin' Darn never mind about the patches or the gum, the only way to stop smokin' is to just stop and never smoke again, i havent had a smoke for 12 years, when you stop dont give in to the cravings, i must be honest with u the cravings are still with you 8 years later so be strong its not easy!
Quit cold turkey. It’s a dirty habit. It will give you 20 more years of life. You’ll enjoy your grandchildren.
