Salaam all, Thank you for all your hard work and specially covering Faraz Anwar. I recently had a great experience working with him when he composed and rearranged a song for my 9 year old daughter. This song will be releasing tomorrow on EID and Faraz Anwar is featured in this song. Just to let you know I had a great time working with him and want to tell our Pakistani brothers that not only he is a legend guitarist he is also a great human so we should respect our musicians and appreciate that they are making our country proud. The song will be releasing tomorrow so keep an eye out for it.
Faraz bhaijaan has been a huge influence during my childhood days, loved his song and guitar work. And I am happy that we collaborated on the Global Shred Sagas guitar collaboration project. Love from India 🇮🇳 ❤️🎸🎸
Solid interview. Enjoyed it throughout and very happy to see Faraz Anwar again. Shehzad, could have done a bit more research or held yourself from making comments like Mozart and specially Tanseer Darr in Mizmaar? I thought Faraz was easing into the chat as he realized he’s talking to someone who knows what’s up but after these little mistakes, he must be like ‘abay yaar..’ Faraz also needs to be a bit more in charge rather than blaming others or waiting for society to be changed. 20 saal se yahi sun raha hon (big Faraz fan btw) Good luck Faraz and Shehzad 👍🏻

A very interesting talk, it hurts to hear a music legend speak so negatively but I understand that it comes from years of being in the cutthroat music industry. I respect him for speaking out against the unfairness society shows. I feel like what Faraz said at 40:13 summed up why ppl in Pak will never acknowledge music as a real profession. They don't want to be seen as a saint nor a sinner, so it's easier to turn a blind eye to the plight of the Pakistani musician.
Aamir Zaki, Faraz Anwar, Shallum xavier, Mekaal hassan, Nabeel Chishty has been my all time favourite pakistani guitarists. Each one has their own repertoire and influences. I'm an Indian Kid who is up in 90's and have heard most of their work. My way to support was to purchase cassette (Yes we used to purchase that) whenever it was available in India. Professionally I'm a qualified chartered accountant and company secretary and music and playing multiple instruments has been my passion. I understand when faraz says the plight of music scene in Pakistan. Artists are treated ghastly across the world. Faraz's music is not for a normal set of ears who are used to 1-4-5 pattern. He employs complex chord patterns multiple modes in a song , complex guitar techniques etc.

Guys, Great Podcast. I can understand why Faraz Anwar is so bitter about the problems that musician face in Pakistan where music industry is basically non existent . Shehzad , I am also quite impressed that you have done your research and this has been one of the best part of your podcasts . I believe that you should ask Faraz to come again on your podcast and the topic should be about music and how young people should pursue music especially rock music. 👍👍🙌🎶🎶🎶
He should also sign up for JTC guitars they release compilation albums of instrumentalists and many guitar players are getting paid through that they also release exclusive paid tablatures from the guitarists officially it is a really great website.

Fraz Anwar is a living legend! He never get the praise and admiration that he he deserves. If he was born in West he would have lived different life. Anyways, more power to him for making such beautiful compositions.

The Pakistan Experience yes and Im happy that you touched on that topic. I still got the feeling from what faraz said that he has predominantly taken it negatively. People specially the fans are on his side. I can speak for myself that I am a huge fan of his work and when I was in khi I always wanted to attend his teaching sessions but due to me being on the other side of the city didn't help my cause. I never looked down on him infact his respect grew in my eyes that such a big name in music is willing to share his knowledge with an average Joe. Same is the situation this time, I respect him even more that instead of bitching about the government he did what he felt right. If atif charges a crore, faraz deserves double. That is the whole point but I guess it all comes down to recognising this profession as such which fans like me have no influence over unfortunately.
So he starts by complaining how he is struggling financially, then he complains that channels are afrer money not passionate about music, then whines about money issues, then complains that young singers are just after immediate 25/30k and are not looking at the bigger picture, then complains about not being paid enough...
