Three Top Hats is a comedy by Spanish writer, journalist and playwright Miguel Mihura. It is his first comedy, written in 1932 although released twenty years later, in 1952. Comedy that is among the most outstanding of the Spanish theater of the twentieth century and that supposed a renewal of the genre, incorporating elements that are later found in the theater of the absurd . Mainly for her, her author has been considered one of the best comediógrafos of the Spanish theater of the twentieth century.
In three hats, Mihura contrasts, through a happy coexistence of the poetic and sentimental with the humorous and satirical, two worlds: the bourgeois, hypocrite, rigid and limited by an apparent and strict moral, and another, stripped of routine and The conventions of the former, free and vital, but equally misleading. Two worlds that "only save the humanity of Dionisio and Paula," its protagonists.
