Peggy & Amanda, This was a fun millcast. Todd's picture frame gift, with the link to the kids pix, is the best. I love the little cable knit snowman, so clever & sweet. Maybe, that could be a group challenge for the knitting community? It would be neat to see all of them together. Yes, your cool dark wool with color speckles is sold out...really pretty. The run in the frozen trail, I could picture how beautiful that was. The puppets are so cool. What a great activity. Could you bring it in to show us on a.millcast. I'd like to see it up close. Everything you gals talk about makes me wanna move to Vermont. The woodworking workshop for women sounds great. Amanda, have you made anything wooden since? Peg, did you have to replace the sweater on your one sheep? You left me hanging, hehe Maybe, a never-wet spray to revive it's integrity? I absolutely love your show. Always makes my day. hUgz from Ohio, Lee
Thanks for giving Brady a home in Vermont! This Brady was so fun to knit in your Making Tracks yarn... the undyed is the perfect shade for a snowman. And you can get oodles of them from just the 2 skeins. Happy New Year, Amanda and Peggy, and the entire mill family! See you around the fiber festivals in 2025! and likely another Mill tour around Wayne's birthday in Feb! ~Janet
One more comment about how to keep your Chiaogoo needles from unscrewing-this company now sells cords which swivel. This allows the cords to turn as you knit, therefore, the joins are not stressed as much as it does without the swivels. This might work if you are still having troubles with your cords loosening up.
Happy New Year! You said it - 0630 in Oregon and the dark Confetti yarn is sold out =) Congrats on another winner and glad you are looking at more dark fleeces!
I wish you to come to Europe with your yarn in the new Year! Although.... these might be more wishes for me than for you... ;) I love your show and admire your yarns. Happy New Year!!!
Thanks so much Peg and Amanda and a happy and healthy new year to you all at the mill full of good health and lots of knitting… missed out on the chocolate yarn but better luck next time😃👏🏼🧶
Good morning!! I’m using some Dorset that came in one of my Mill Boxes. Making Grid Gambit and Alpenglow. It’s absolute gorgeous. I’ll post photos on IG as soon as it’s finished!
Hi Peggy and Amanda, Thanks for another enjoyable and inspiring episode. Wishing you and your families a Very Happy & Healthy New Year! Happy Knitting too!
Happy New Year Amanda and Peggy! The cords you use to hold stitches are "Barber" cords. (I think that is a brand name) 😂 They are wonderful in my opinion. IF you don't have broccoli rubber bands, you can cut a piece of rubbery (might be made by Rubbermaid?) shelf liner and it works just as well to give you traction when connecting your interchangeable needles. I like Amanda's strategy too - just use a non-interchangeable needle. Your mill cast is always so happy and positive. I am grateful you and others raise sheep...I thought putting coats on babies/toddlers was challenging (long ago)....can't imagine dressing a sheep! Wishing you all the best (and do be careful running Amanda)! 🧶
Happy New Year! Tha;nks for the Broccoli band solution. I have a drawer with many of those as well, and will give it a try next time I use my interchangeables. (I'm one who said I never use them anymore...). Gorgeous sweater, Peggy. And I love the tweed yarn. I saw a month or so ago, the tweed yarn you made for Lee Langstaff at Shepherd's Hey Farm out of her corrie-X fleece. Really lovely. If you ever make it in sport weight, I will definitely get some. (Post-menopause: nothing heavier than sport weight! )
Hello! After watching your podcast, I was looking for more information about the Russell Garden Fiber Festival. The website indicates that the date is January 19 but I saw somewhere else the date of January 26 (as you also mentioned). Are you able to confirm which date it is? Also, is this show all indoors? Thank you!
It's confusing - just double checked and Russell's site has both dates - the 19th at the heading and the 26th below where the vendors are listed. I'm on their listserv and the email from 12/26 indicates the 19th. Most of the vendors are inside - a handful are along the side of the building outside.
The snowman is gorgeous. Happy 2025 to you all. 🇬🇧
Thank you - same to you!
Happy New Year Peggy and Amanda

Happy New Year! 🎉
Same to you!
Happy New Year! Amanda, what can you tell us about that great yarn basket that you had your vest in?
It is from www.colemamacreations.com ! I love it!
Amanda, are there any wild animals like bears or cougars that you need to watch out for when you are out running?
The black bears are more afraid of us around here, but it is still important to be cautious!
