    Our car has been in the garage for 2 weeks not because the work's hard but because the parts are taking so long to get here. It is costing us a fortune due to lost work. The mechanic says before brexit the parts would have been here within 24 hours. Maybe less. If we can't rejoin then we need to basically quietly do anything we can to be a full member without having to say it out loud. This is an emergency situation.. I'm probably talking mainly to working people on this one

    Find cast on the BBC that didn't go on the footnites at Cambridge.. It's pretty tricky.. Very grateful but think of all the talent that didn't get tapped into and it's no surprise how dull and boring it has become compared to the internet now.. If the BBC wants to survive, it needs to draw in talent from all directions, not just from the Cambridge foot lights. Those days are over.. in the same way, I look forward to a time where I can tune in to a radio station even when like LBC and not have to listen to somebody that went to private school. Shouldn't be about connections. Recruitment should be based on talent, not connections. And talent is not born in private schools.. That's the old world

    • @WilliamSmith-mx6ze
      @WilliamSmith-mx6ze หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's worse than this. At the risk of stereotyping, O'Brien is a public school and university-educated man who hosts a phone-in show where he winds up taxi drivers, most of whom left school at 15 or 16. Then he gets them to phone in and this LBC TH-cam channel says, Zing! Watch O'Brien school this lot! With his superior education!
      The thing is, O'Brien only schools them by being disingenuous. When Corbyn was just elected Labour leader in 2015, there was a furore that Corbyn wouldn't sing the National Anthem. O'Brien then went on his show and said, what's wrong with Corbyn not singing the National Anthem? When people phoned in and disagreed, O'Brien said to them "Go on, sing the second verse of the National Anthem." And, of course, they couldn't. But that was irrelevant. We don't normally sing the second verse of the National Anthem. O'Brien thought he'd won the argument by introducing an irrelevance. Whether Corbyn should or should not sing the National Anthem went untouched as an issue because O'Brien introduced an irrelevance. He's public school and university-educated but can only beat taxi drivers by disingenuity.

      James has a sound cancelation system that muffles out a callers voice which allows him to talk over callers uninterrupted, he also often cuts people off totally but not before making a very sarcastic/silly comment. It's not a fair or level playing field I'm afraid

    • @franklingoodwin
      @franklingoodwin หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      @@terrysmith5168it is a level playing field. James rarely uses the mute function and if I recall correctly has only done it once recently when a woman was shouting over him, and he did warn her if she continued he'd mute her. Most of the callers arguing with James problems are they're ill informed and unprepared. Mix that with total confidence in their ignorance and it's usually a total failure on their part. They need to realise that it's a debate and not an argument. Fail to prepare, prepare to fail.
