Ah, typing soon to be one of those lost talents that no-one can do, along with cursive writing, spelling, sitting down and having a conversation without a TV on or smartphone in hand. But I digress, nice video, "they know about you" brilliant !
If this game is anything like my high-school keyboarding class, the end boss will demand that you type 'The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog' a bunch of times with perfect accuracy. Because y'know - that sentence contains every letter of the alphabet. And caused carpal tunnel for a whole generation of kids. This was such an odd little game, buoyed by Felicia and Ryon being gleefully teasing! So good :)
Holy shit guys, this was hilarious. I have evidence too, there's sandwich in my windpipe. Gonna get that fixed after this. Seriously though... Keyboard slings. Come on Geek & Sundry, I don't want to say you dropped the ball or anything, but there's a ball sitting at your feet with your name written on it... Good job Felicia Day and ***** :)
***** Nah, I've seen what you call "desperate for attention". People that literally scream "NOTICE ME!" on their Twitter comments for instance. Felicia and Ryon recognize me as much as they're going to and I don't need to impress the masses. I merely say what comes to mind after I watch the show. :)
***** Okay number one, it was just supposed to be a joke. Number two, yes technically you can be a great coder and type very slowly, just as you can be a great carpenter and take forever to cut wood. But generally speaking, since people in those professions do those things all day long they tend to be pretty quick at them more often than not.
***** exactly, it takes years to shape programming knowledge and make you a great planner. After million of errors, millions of codes, and countless hours in front of keyboard and computers. Now tell me that didn't make you a fast typer. People gets good at it because they've USED to it, intentionally or unintentionally. Well unless it was a case of people with disabilities, then I'm sorry, I was wrong, and i bid you good day, sir.
You're talking like he typed 3 words per minute, for what we can see his speed is average, also since when you need to be a fast typer to be a programmer? Like most IDEs outthere auto completes code and most of the programming anybody does is sitting there and think
In arcades they did have it set up with a keyboard. I thought it was the funniest thing because on arcade cabinet, instead of 2 characters carrying guys, they have keyboard strapped at waist height.
Typing of the Dead is already hilarious with the dreamcasts on their back and keyboard suspenders. But this was extra funny! I LOLed IRL when Felicia said "incomprehensible pep talk". Ha!
Dunno if it has been answered already, but I once saw, and played, this in an Arcade in Japan. The arcade actually had a Keyboard in front of the screen. So to answer your question from 2:19: Yes they did have this in Arcades with a keyboard, at least in Japan. Love your show!
Don't know if it's been covered already (can't be arsed reading 521 comments) but, in case it hasn't, a P-wave is a pressure wave, which is a mode of seismic wave propagation where the axis of particle oscillation is parallel to direction of travel. These are the fastest seismic body waves and will be the first arrivals in the event of an earthquake. S-waves, or shear waves, where the direction of particle motion is perpendicular to the direction of wave propagation, are another form of body wave that will arrive shortly after. Surface waves, Love waves and Rayleigh waves, will arrive last but have the highest amplitudes and are the most destructive. Hope you enjoyed this exciting seismology chat
My smile muscles hurt after watching this episode! This one easily is one of my favorites - and I really hope that someone takes up the cosplay challenge.
Thats hillarious! I always thought typing of the dead was an individual game that I've never played but its actually just House of the Dead 2 remodded for keyboard support. XD
LOL Ryon is rocking the greasy car sales man hair. I remember playing the Japanese arcade cabinet of this game. Try playing it in Japanese with a Japanese keyboard it is pretty hard. I think our local arcade has it still will need to check it out.
As far as this game being in arcades, in Los Angeles Little Tokyo there used to be an arcade and they had it set up there. Not sure how mainstream it was to have it, but it definitely existed.
Lol. As an FYI, a P Wave is one of the waves in the heart rhythm, in the PQRST complex :) At least that's what it is medically, it may be something else in the world of computers or physics.
Today I learned the "k" key pauses youtube videos. (I know spacebar does too but thats nothing new) And the "j" key jumps the video back a bit. As well as the "l" key jumping forward. How have I never known this until now?
If I don't see at least 1 typer cos-player at the next Comic Con I will be greatly disappointed. I need to do this for Salt Lake Comic Con in September.
Duudes ... you just didn't practice enough. Back in 1985 I used to type like 90 wpm on my IBM 8100 DISOSS with the keyboard (which, I admit, weighed like FIVE POUNDS because IBM and their hardware always weighed a TON) planted firmly in my lap, leaned back half-recumbent in my executive chair, head cocked over to hold the phone against my shoulder while I took dictation over it. (This was also how I blew out my C5/6 disc with the phone; after thirty years, I'm getting surgery to fix it at the end of this month.)
I'm going to have to get my bro to break out the old dreamcast keyboards and load this game up again. I remember getting pretty far in this game but never finished it.
I'm calling it now, the next con Felicia goes to, all her fans are going to bring a backpack and a keyboard, no matter what they're cosplaying as. Naruto cosplay? Keyboard. Avatar/Legend of Korra cosplay? Keyboard. Deadpool? Guns, katana, and a keyboard. Attack on Titan? 3D gear, plus keyboard. LoL cosplay? Keyboard. And a mouse I guess. It'll be glorious!
I think that Geek & Sundry has found a solution for USA's low test scores (vs. the world), Put this game into all school's (along with those lovely yet challenging keyboards) education plans. However we will also need The Arithmetic, Algebra, Trigonometry, etc of the Dead. So get coding Ryan and Felicia.
Dreamcast emulators can play this game. So no need to code much of anything. The thing is that the parent board would be all over it saying its too violent. And a lot of times it will not get fully adapted anyways, like mario's typing.
We look good in suits. And we are intense as shit with....Typing of the Deaaaaaaad!
This makes the case for a good keyboard...hands on home row...:-)
is that your dad's tie?
So is this cosplay a thing that is going to happen? Because that would be the best thing ever.
Ah, typing soon to be one of those lost talents that no-one can do, along with cursive writing, spelling, sitting down and having a conversation without a TV on or smartphone in hand. But I digress, nice video, "they know about you" brilliant !
Yes, in Japan there were arcade machines for this game and it's sequels.
"They know about you" is probably the most sibling-y joke I've ever seen on this show. I love it.
Felicia types like pterodactyl on this week's Co-Optitude... and we love it!
And we love Felicia! Or at least I do. I'm assuming we all do.
You guy's should play "Gauntlet the Dark Legacy" one of my favorite Xbox games from when I was younger, I personally thought it was a really fun game
I had so much fun with this video, thank you!!!!
I feel like i would be bomb at this game. I actually had to pass a typing class in middle school.
...With wings?
that hair length looks good on female sibling
This reply provided enjoyment
This must be the most hilarious episode from this season. Thank you for all the laughs and keep up the great work!
"90% rubbish. They know about you." I AM CRYING LMFAO

Splattercat Good job! Add being funny is a plus : )
I completely lost it at the first cut to the keyboard slings!! This was amazing
Wow, this was amazing. I am flabbergasted that this game was actually a thing, but you guys turned it into comedy gold.
That was too funny, I love you guys, and that keyboard contraption around the neck....LOL
I love you guys! You always make me laugh. I watch an episode in the morning when getting ready for work to get my day started off right!
I never knew that the makes of Typist of the Dead know you guys personally. All the messages are so spot-on.
I have seen them in the wild in Japan arcades up to a couple months ago... so yeah, they do have them set up in arcades.
I played Typing of the Dead at a SEGA arcade center in Japan. Yes, the cabinets had keyboards built in. It was extremely popular at the time.
By far, best 'they know about you"-jokes.
This is definitely my favorite Co-Optitude so far. Hilarious!
When I saw the setup I thought: "Ryon's a programmer, he's going to murder this game."
So... maybe he's more on the conceptual side of programming.

***** yeaaa.... i'm SURE a greatest programmer planner in the world can make every coding a 1 liner.. have you even code a little?
To be fair this game doesn't have auto-complete.
*****

That was possibly the funnest thing I have seen in a long time!!! You two never disappoint :)
In arcades they did have it set up with a keyboard. I thought it was the funniest thing because on arcade cabinet, instead of 2 characters carrying guys, they have keyboard strapped at waist height.
Yes, they had keyboards set up in arcades. I discovered this game in the late 90's in Tokyo... it is amazing
This was great! Thank yall for the video!
Ryon and Felicia playing Typing of the dead, this seriously brightened my day :D
Co-Optitude may be the best thing on TH-cam. Almost. Except You Deserve A Drink.
GET MAMETOWN IN!
Late to the game, but Felicia did do a My Drunk Kitchen! So she probably knows Maimtown!
Typing of the Dead is already hilarious with the dreamcasts on their back and keyboard suspenders. But this was extra funny! I LOLed IRL when Felicia said "incomprehensible pep talk". Ha!

So to answer your question from 2:19: Yes they did have this in Arcades with a keyboard, at least in Japan.
Love your show!
Do amoebas feel love? I ask myself that every day in the shower or when I do taxes.
So, GOOD! We need a full playthrough asap. K THNX :D
Dang... Felicia can really pull off a blazer.
Also, now I'm imagining that she was swearing at zombies while working on her book!
Ahhhhh the nostalgia! Good stuff guys and Felicia you're AMAZING!
I always attribute my typing skills to Typing of the Dead so I highly recommend this as one of the best educational games ever made.
the hair is looking good Felicia!
Dat sweet dyslexia! Another great ep guys, thanks for the roffles!
I need a gif of Ryon saying "BYE", so I can use it all the time.

My smile muscles hurt after watching this episode! This one easily is one of my favorites - and I really hope that someone takes up the cosplay challenge.
Just so you all know I live in Japan and some retro arcades STILL have this game setup with keyboard n' everything!
One of my favorites. Definitely worth a laugh.
Everyone should try the sequel, *Typing of the Dead: Overkill*. It's on Steam, and the plot has an over-the-top, grindhouse feel to it.
Best episode ever! I really wanna play this game now
You are two of the most adorable court appointed attorneys I've ever seen! :D
Come on Ryon don't you know the phrase "They'll never use this take" Hold's magical qualities that forces that take to to be used no matter what?
This game was made for me! And so was this episode! "Toilet-trained gorilla? They know about me."
Thats hillarious! I always thought typing of the dead was an individual game that I've never played but its actually just House of the Dead 2 remodded for keyboard support. XD
I think the Geek and Sundry team need to start designing those keyboard straps for a second gameplay session XD
Thanks for the cosplay idea. I'll just have to get a Deramcast (always wanted one), Dreamcast keyboard and a giant battery.
Your Deramcast and Dreamcast Keyboard might not be compatible.
LOL Ryon is rocking the greasy car sales man hair. I remember playing the Japanese arcade cabinet of this game. Try playing it in Japanese with a Japanese keyboard it is pretty hard. I think our local arcade has it still will need to check it out.
I remember blazing through this game in the game room of a convention xD Too easy when you're a skilled blind typer!
As far as this game being in arcades, in Los Angeles Little Tokyo there used to be an arcade and they had it set up there. Not sure how mainstream it was to have it, but it definitely existed.
I forgot this was a thing! Awesome!
Currently in Tokyo. Saw one of these set up in an arcade here.
A p wave is the part of a heart monitor that denotes the start atrial contraction
Actually, they were set up in arcades with keyboards. At least in Japan. It's still around too, I played it in an arcade last year.
I thought house of the dead was a perfect game, but this just made it a hundred percent better
I've never seen such a nicely dressed let's play before.
Oh my gosh. I would totally rock this game. It looks like so much fun!
Have you been injured by zombies in a tax accident? Are you worried about the city? Call today for a free consultation. We know about you!
I love those pillows.
Why did I never think to cosplay this before?!
All I need is a couple straps and a giant battery...
Wow, I cannot believe this is a real game!
And those sentences were twisted! "Want to bite my ankle?"
Felicia looks purdy in a suit. Ryon just looks tired. I love this show so much. :)
Who thought learning to touch type would finally come in handy. Great Video :)
Scully? Is that you?
This is a really cool adaptation of House of the Dead! I loved this! =p
I love the original House of the Dead! I have to try this! :D
I owned both Typing of the Dead and the Dreamcast Keyboard. It came in a bundle.
Who the heck named the zombies?
So this is what you've been doing Ms. Day! I've missed your Wasteland 2 play-through for this. It better be good.
Wish I had a Dreamcast to play this version!
A P wave represents the contraction of the atria on an EKG ;)
I don't know why, but I lost it at "Babies in caves".
Holy crap! House of the Dead with insane keyboard slings. That was insane. How do you find these things??
Typing of the Dead is a pretty well known thing. Typing of the Dead: Overkill is available on Steam, even.
I miss the Days hosting together, their dynamic was the best.
This game gets so intense so fast :D
This game seems to be fun to play with friends. Also, Felicia's hair is at it's cooler lenght.
The most important question of 2015: Do amoebas feel love?
I loved this episode!! so funny :D
I saw a picture of a Typing of the Dead arcade machine with dual keyboards.
If I don't see at least 1 typer cos-player at the next Comic Con I will be greatly disappointed. I need to do this for Salt Lake Comic Con in September.
This was just great!
I never thought that type of the dead was with random words, but it gave me a laugh anyway!
The next game should be Virtua Cop for the Sega Saturn!
Oh man, this really would be an amazing cosplay. lmao
Welp, it's official, I'm just going to respond with "They know about you" to everything now
Duudes ... you just didn't practice enough. Wait... There are Dreamcast keyboards? What else can you do with (two of) them, besides dismember zombies??
2:37 Ryan points out the very very specific time that is three minutes measured in seconds
Three and a half.
What a funny game. Good luck getting a kid to play it though. Great episode.
I think this is my new favorite.
You know what you guys would love?
Surgeon Simulator 2013.
Great episode, never knew a game like this was actually made.. Well it's one way for kids to get permission to play a zombie game.
It's like Rock Band for typing!
Maybe your best game performance yet. Shock! :)
hahah this was a hilarious episode!!
Why am I not surprised Ryan is a keyboard nerd?
Love dem Cherry MX switches.
I think that Geek & Sundry has found a solution for USA's low test scores (vs. the world), Put this game into all school's (along with those lovely yet challenging keyboards) education plans. I Haven't laughed this hard since the Jurassic park episode. Love this episode.
I would SO like both Days for the laughs!
