Fran was my celebrity crush in the ‘90s. I’ve seen her lately on Twitter, and my, she’s aged like a fine wine! The pizza was good, too… 😂
She had a small role in the Spinal Tap movie in 1984 as a record company publicist.
Man I didn't remember this old pizza and I don't think I've had this in the past. Unfortunately there's no pizza hut's near me so oh well I'll continue living in not knowing how it is.
You've no idea how much mentioning the sardine candy canes periodically tickles my heart...........and in a GOOD way!! LOL!! It's a running gag that must NEVER end!!

I was lucky enough to work at Pizza Hut when they had the Tripledecker Pizza. I loved it then and I still crave it daily! I wish they'd bring it back! Along with the Triple Steak Stack from Taco Bell!!!
here's how it is made: they take a regular dough usually used for the Large hand tossed and prep it in a special container (with sheets)
they stretch it onto a special large tray and make it with sweet sauce with 1.5 cups of cheese rather than the usual one
supposed to have parm seasoning on top

Damn, I wish you wouldn't have reminded me of the triple decker. I LOVED that pizza. I loved the one with the mini hotdogs in the crust too.
Man I want a bigfoot pizza. Those were great with the special whole milk mozzarella. I delivered for the hut in early 90s and used to negotiate a free bigfoot when they wanted me to stay late and close.
The original Pizza Hut Big New Yorker was one of my favorite pizzas (other than traditional New York style mom and pop type pizza shops) back when it released. I might have to try one while it's back.

Bring back the 'foot, Pizza Hut!
Unless you're getting their signature pan pizza, Pizza Hut's other pizzas always seem to have a crust that's slightly too thin. And that seems true even for their Big New Yorker pizza, a pizza that is supposed to have a thinner crust. That probably explains why it's so floppy.

I miss their Crazy Cheesy Crust Pizza. But the Pizza Hut nearby us closed a year ago, and so now I never get the opportunity to go there anyway. Funny - when they were here I criticized them, but now I miss them. I guess absence does make the heart grow fonder.
I almost forgot Pizza Hut had The New Yorker ( my relatives born and raised in New York would scoff at it), I think I blocked out those commercials from my memory, and I still miss the Bigfoot.

I ordered one, as it was my favorite and my local place kept letting me order it for like 2 years after it was discontinued (I guess because I'm a very good tipper?). It's just not the same, unfortunately, it's just a 16-in hand tossed with the marinara sauce. That's probably what the original was too, but since they've changed their dough. It's not a bad pizza, but just not what I remember.
Triple-decker was nice, sure, but there are still those among us who faithfully await the second coming of the PRIAZZO!
I loved it as a teen in the 90's and I still want buy it once before it goes but I'm prepared to not be impressed because we have real NY pizza in the south now. In the 90's, we only had fast food chain pizza places and I thought Pizza Hut was the best back in the day.

they kept it alive in my country under the eXtreme label of pizza, the only difference was the X shaped stirngs of cheese on the pizza, but from time to time, they would still sell it normal as the big newyorker.
small joke, the first time we ordered it, since we have a stell partioned door, i was thinking of opening it all so the pizza fits without slanting it, it honestly went it with brushing both side, let me go measure the door.....
i am back, it was 47 cm and that is like almost 19 inches but that is with the box so maybe 18 inches is the pizza and that is a lot.
it is also so good and they offer each 1/4 of it as a different pizza, so i would go :
-pepperoni
-super supreme
-hot stuff beef
-fiery peri peri chicken
so basically u get 4 pizzas for the price of one....can't remember the price, maybe $16 with delivery and the extra to have it 4 types...can't recall.

Wow, Pizza Hut has a 16 inch pizza. Meanwhile Papa John's has had a 16 inch in both regular crust and NY crust for years.

I just started the video....but....the one I got was fucking trash. Crust was soggy from grease, I have like 5 big pieces and 1 super skinny one. 10/10 wouldn't recommend ( at least from the location near me)

Bread my man Pizza Hut sucks no not because of the pizza tased but because of their Pizza size. You cannot get a large pizza from Pizza Hut, Papa John's, Domino's or any of those places order a large pizza from Pizza Hut or any of them places what do you get you get him medium size pizza from back in 1984... The large pizzas that they consider large pizzas are there size of what medium pizzas were back in 1984.
