Honestly this chapter felt really personal to me, mainly with the Solitude, Fear and Hatred sections. (This is gonna be a pretty personal tangent so keep that in mind) Solitude/Isolation felt like it poked at the part of me that just wants to be left alone. Never really socializing and seeing the concept as merely a waste of breath which I could be using for anything else. Fear resonated a lot with my anxiety, and how it causes me to think in ways that, while not based in reality in the slightest, still has one key part that keeps it grounded and thus keeps my mind lingering on a possibility that just unrealistic. And then there’s Hatred/Wrath. The side which is continuously repressed and kept under lock and key, continuously on the verge of outright exploding if not kept in check. The thought that at any moment something could cause me to go over the edge and end up doing something I would regret scares me, because I’ve seen it nearly happen before. And if I don’t try and calm that venomous hatred, well… Let’s just say it would not exactly be a pretty sight to behold for anyone. (Alright that’s enough personal tangents for today)
Solitude doesn't know what fear is, when you're walking towards the entrance, one of the ducks will say something like this: You're fighting someone that has never met anyone before, in fact, you are the first person he talks to. Maybe that explains his attitude.
@BetaPlasma fair enough, before fighting Solitude, it mentions that you're definitely special, since it has never seen anything but the void and itself
“Here at ROBLOX, our mission is to bring joy to everyone. So I’m here to listen and help you through it! Do you know what might be troubling you? Hmm… Well let us explore endless possibilities! how it works is that it gains an attack boost proportional to the amount of damage it takes in one instance, if you hit it with a move that deals 5 damage, it'll get +5 attack boost, but it doesn't work with multi-hitting moves and will only increase for an individual hit like slingshot, it'll only get +1 attack boost despite the attack dealing more in total, it doesn't stack

I have to say I was playing through it with friends (all of us blind) and this actually broke me, hit RIGHT in the target a few weeks after I took a big step. I think I hadn't realized that maybe I was still a bit paranoid of people being dissapointed with me. ...I hit an 8% freeze chance on first try. I never missed one singular status in this fight, and I never got hit, either. *It was personal.*
It's interesting that all of Solitude's attacks WILL hit R&B if you summon them. I don't know if that's intentional, but it makes sense given you're what you're fighting. 🤔
It’s actually because it’s a group attack and since B&R can’t dodge, they just automatically take the damage in the first bit, I did some testing with bigfoot’s vine swing and sure enough if they defended it with 2 defense (that I gave them)
That maze is the one I took the most tries on (3, instead of the 2 in Avarice and 1 in Fear), but it's the one with the most forgivingly simple gimmick. Instead of needing to strike at hands while navigating or going against your instincts, you just use cardinal directions. And honestly the simplicity fits Solitude.
How is this from just the third chapter? This type of stuff is usually at the end of a game, and we still got like at least 4 more chapters to go… im hyped for what’s next.
it's actually 5 more chapters! chapter 8 has no sword associated with it I believe it was confirmed once you gather the final SFOTH sword in chapter 7 I'll result in us going to face the main antagonist/threat of the game in one final chapter, which should be chapter 8

This one? This one got me bawling my eyes out from how beautiful it is, it made me forget that I'm still playing ROBLOX. And the background is so unique too, it adds the vibe to it. It's hard to explain, but I hope you get how I feel if you focus deeper on the song
The beginning of this song fits the theme so well. A serene(?) vibe. Alone essentially. It's just you and your mind. An infinite pool of water and loneliness. Depression 101 Amazing banger as always.
Note: This message is LONG. If you care to read through it, go ahead. If you want to see how I’ve felt from this chapter, then press read more. This chapter was deep. I would type this on the hatred ost section, but i already put something there, and this one fits the most, too. I feel like putting something deep this time, as everything else was either non-serious or serious with a funny tone. Weeks before demo 3 released, I honestly felt these emotions, besides greed. I felt isolated from everyone, and felt paranoia all around me, but fear wasn't helping me. I've also felt hatred all the time. I managed to tone down these fears, but not enough to the point they're still here, bottled up when I don't realize it. I've come across some motivating videos by accident when looking throughout the internet. These told me how to imagine defeating them, but not in person. Then, blocktales comes along and makes me fight them myself. I could be playing other games that do things like this, like omori, but i've already played them, or I just don't have the money for them. But this does a great job at helping me fight my emotions in a short way. When I was fighting hatred, I actually felt anger fighting him from his annoying attacks, but then I realized it's what it wants. It was me to feel pain; anger, so I had to fight it's completely unfair attacks (at the time they were unfair) without feeling anger, and so I did. I feel these emotions way less than before, honestly. Fear feels like it's working with me, isolation feels so distant, and hatred occasionally occurs, but not for long. If you're still reading this by any chance, thank you. This chapter honestly mean't a lot to me. Unlike other games where it takes a lot of time to face my emotions and overcome them, or just have it not happen at all, this shows what they mean and how they can hurt you. Isolation was the emotion that i've felt the most, and it feels legit. You have the background staring at you, but it's not anything. It's you looking at yourself, you being alone. As I said, if you read to the end, thank you, and if you skipped to the end, it's okay. Anyways, it’s time to head out for more important things. You probably have something to do, too.
I feel this. Solitude was a hard boss for me too, but at least I had friends taking it better than me to help me go through it- nonetheless, having to challenge something I thought I had gone over was tough. I'd been under the paranoia that a lot of people were putting their hopes on me because of some long-running project I'd lost my motivation on long ago, and this hit me a few weeks after finally letting it die regardless of that fear. When I was fighting the boss I had an amazing run, too- took no damage and even hit an 8% freeze chance. I didn't think about it because I was focused at the time, but the eye motif is really scary. It reminds me of that exact sensation: feeling as if everyone watches and judges your every move, and as if you don't want to dissapoint them no matter what... it's a weird way of representing solitude, but very effective, because having eyes on you makes you think you're surrounded by people, yet that's not really the case because that's only your paranoia haunting you. Needless to say, defeating this thing was really liberating. At that point my mind was set and this was no more than a test of will by having to confront those feelings again. ...this game should have a content warning at this point ( ̄▽ ̄)"

Best Song imo it feels so atmospheric, and its tone can be used in almost any situation tbh, especially the chorus part.

It's interesting that all of Solitude's attacks WILL hit R&B if you summon them. I don't know if that's intentional, but it makes sense given you're what you're fighting. 🤔
just ghost potion the sky and pd the rain
It’s actually because it’s a group attack and since B&R can’t dodge, they just automatically take the damage in the first bit, I did some testing with bigfoot’s vine swing and sure enough if they defended it with 2 defense (that I gave them)

That maze is the one I took the most tries on (3, instead of the 2 in Avarice and 1 in Fear), but it's the one with the most forgivingly simple gimmick. Instead of needing to strike at hands while navigating or going against your instincts, you just use cardinal directions. And honestly the simplicity fits Solitude.

You probably have something to do, too.
did you beat hatred atleast

@@Not-olyo 👍
At that point my mind was set and this was no more than a test of will by having to confront those feelings again.
...this game should have a content warning at this point ( ̄▽ ̄)"
i hope you're feeling better now dude
