Good video... If GBRF are short on loco's view ought to try picking up some of those 60s that are going to waste at Toton... What make me drone do you use?
@@trainsplanes Thankyou for replying about the make of your drone... I'm looking to get one myself... Do you use the extended battery or just use the normal battery.. I've seen on a Canadian video that the extended battery takes the drone over 250g does that make as much difference over here as it does in Canada.
Hi James, I use the standard size batteries - These last long enough for 6-8 mins of footage which is about the average I take and all of the manoeuvres 👍
These locos are broadly similar to existing class 66’s - The biggest difference is AC units fitted in the cab ceiling which need to be removed to ensure the locos are compliant to UK gauge size.
They are basically the same design, but the 77s have minor customizations compared to the 66s, as ordered for a continental operator. This included cab AC units on the roof that would not fit the UK loading gauge. I believe the intention is for these to be removed and the units numbered into the 66 series.
Excellent video as always.
Glad you enjoyed it 👍
Last time i visited Donny shed there was a deltic, 4 x 47s and 6 x37s on it , as you can tell it has been a while lol Good video mate
Nice to see these locos back on english soil! I would suggest going to tyne yard for for yard flyovers
Think these locos were built for European markets, so this is the first time for them in Britain.
I’ll get up there soon.. it’s been a while since I’ve been up to Tyne SS so I’m due a visit. 👍
Where did you take off from was it near the cafe
Hi Simon, nearby to where I think you mean plus another location for the opposite side of the depot so I can see the drone at all times.
@@trainsplanes I will try the location and let you know
No AC for you !
Nice video
Which conversion numbers will they be
I’ve put the conversion numbers in the description - These 3 will be 66306-66308. 👍
Thanks bud. Love your videos. One you need to do is flying over Blackpool north.

Hi James, I think most of the 60’s are past it now unfortunately. I use a DJI Mini 3. 👍

@@trainsplanes Thankyou very much for that useful information... look forward to more of your videos
Great filming - did you need permission to fly over the depot?
You don’t need permission

Just wish they'd resurrect a few more 60's 🤔🙁
All our engineering know how and can't modify to keep the AC....oh wait no that's won't modify....
strange, isn't it.................................
