Today, Kurt breaks down Caleb Williams All-22! Caleb is often viewed as the BEST QB prospect in recent years, is that true? Kurt taps in and breaks it all down.
I think you just given the best example of why Caleb Williams should have a "Buyer Beware" tag attached to him. He tries to make every single play a splash play. He doesnt play within the system. He doesnt make decisions quickly. Beyond his raw physical abilities its hard for me to see why he'd be the 1st pick.
i am biblically stoned right now and your voice is incredibly relaxing for some reason, thanks for that. also, i subscribed. this was a very good break down. i think. im high. god bless
@@Sleezygemthat’s a fair opinion but Kurt is evaluating to an NFL level not college, Caleb is NFL ready but hasn’t had bad habits coached out of him that’s all he is saying here
@@Sleezygemcap i watched kurt warner…he said its hard to evaluate his tape because the play calling was bad n made no sense….sounds alot like fields….JD is him tho…kurt did say he has the best tape
The haphazard foot work. I’ve been saying it and it’s going to affect his ability to throw into tight windows in the short and medium game. It won’t matter though since he’ll have 2 top 10 receivers and TE’s. It’s all about the the team mechanics and not just the individual.
problem with that 3 pick game was... its the closest to what Caleb will see in the NFL.. D line prssure.. tight receiver coverage.. where "off schedule" play ability gets completely exploited in the NFL..
@@foreverfree3953 - you can't really compare. if you want QBs who beat "NFL-level defenses" in college, congrats, you've drafted Mac Jones, Stetson Bennett, and T-Law. the reality is that ND was simply a much better constructed team than USC in 2023. unless you think Caleb's o-line in the NFL is going to be as porous as USC's, or think that the quality of receivers he'll have in Chicago is lower than at USC (Brendan Rice was our best WR, which is... it's fine)... unless you think that, the idea that ND is "the closest to what Caleb will see in the league" is just not a fair comp
@@jaarc1437 not what you want but, again, not very relevant. Mahomes lost a LOT at Texas Tech. Josh Allen hardly even faced a quality D. Lamar lost to every ranked opp at Louisville in his last season. Stafford got shut out by Bama and threw three picks vs Florida, which triggered the same “he can’t face NFL defense” claims
Caleb’s pocket presence and movement was much better last year. Felt like he played a lot of hero ball this year, just holding onto the ball for too long. Nothing crazy and something that he can learn
He’s got the tools to be great, he’s not the best QB prospect ever or “next Mahomes” he’s not better than Luck, Burrow, or Lawrence coming out imo. But he’s elite. I just think he’s better than the other QBs, buts he’s not one of these generational guys. Although I’m high on him but not as high as others I think the Bears would be foolish not to bring him in, he’d easily the best prospect they’ve ever brought in no doubt.
I agree he makes big plays when there doesn't need a big play he just needs to go through progressions and take what is there. Will see if he can fix it in the NFL.
Uncle Kurt with another fire breakdown. Keep succeeding my dude. Their is QBs in middle school watching this helping their knowledge and one day what you said could lead a kid to the NFL, you’re the man brother
Kurt is saying what I was thinking watching Caleb this year. He's got a couple minor issues that a good QB Coach can iron out. And honestly I want him to sit behind an established starter for a year at least.
@@randy2152 so did Mahomes. Except Mahomes had more issues, Mahomes was a disaster waiting to happen if drafted anywhere that wasn't stable. I understand your point but that's why I'm saying he needs to sit behind an established veteran. And with a stable organization. The Bears feels like a death sentence.
@@Hic_Sunt_Leones-o7vThe Bears have been owned by the Halas/McCaskey family since they moved to Chicago and were renamed to the Bears back in 1921, and you dare to call the franchise unstable. Lmao.

I would not mind him sitting in year one. But I think if he is a bust, it isn't because of the Bears, it would be his fault. @@Hic_Sunt_Leones-o7v
Great breakdown, My biggest fear is that he wants or feels like he has to make a highlight play every down. The biggest throws. The biggest scrambles. I know nothing about the guy, and I don't know if this is scheme or him. But a general theme I saw watching USC last year was we're going big, relying on his legs to extend the play, and he either bombs it, scrambles, or checks down to his RB if those two options are gone.
love the vids as always KB thank you for the amazing high level insight. Hope you and the lovely folks at pocket presence keep this up for as long as y'all enjoy it!
You keep saying he doesn't have to be a savior, the guy he is replacing threw for 2500 yards 16 TD and 9 INTs in his prove it year. Next we drafted a tackle top 10 last year, we might do it again this year, Tevin is ther we paid for Davis and we probaby get Van Pran. We will get a WR from trading JF and the new QB will have a great O Line, DJ and Leggetee or Devontez, and Kmet who we paid. Caleb is going to be walking into a great situation. I am sick of people acting like we are not trending in the right direction.
How would we feel about tannehill as a bridge? Just if we bulk the line good receivers heavy play action would be successful and I think would suit Williams games whilst giving us a chance to play well
Caleb has very happy feet. His out of structure backyard football is impressive, but he struggles more playing in structure and getting the ball out quick. I’m really curious how his game will translate to the NFL.
False. Watch the Pac-12 championship from the previous season. He got injured, then came back in but couldn't run. So he had to play within the offense, & looked REALLY good in structure.
I was very undecided on Caleb until I saw how good he was at Oklahoma. I don’t think USC was good for him. Way too much scrambling but the talent is there
I think he will be just fine because DJ Moore and Allen will be in the right spot at the right time which will help with throwing in time and with anticipation
Hey Kurt! Love your content on twitter and TH-cam. Listen to the podcast too. How many games do you watch of these QBs before you set the rankings you make?
Williams isn’t looking for 5 yard underneath passes. He’s looking for 80 yard bombs. Even tho college football is at its peak now, and better now more than ever… u still can’t break it down like it’s nfl.
Mahomes struggled with dropping to far in the pocket for the first couple years as a starter in the league. Caleb needs good coaching and he'll be fine
As a straight male I gotta say you have some nice eyes and I think you know it and have heard it before, why else would you show yourself so much? 😂 From a fellow QB you do nice breakdowns, I also watched a few of your Madden videos before seeing you break down these college QBs. How hard does it make it (for you) to evaluate college QBs just because of the hash marks being so much further apart? ✌️✝️
I don't think he'll be perfect coming out like you said he's gotta clean up the footwork a bit and in his other games I've noticed him not taking the easy throws in favor of the big plays. I think he's going to Chicago so he'll have better weapons than he had at USC so he has a little more room for error there.
Im almost certain williams isnt the #1 pick. Tbh if the bears are smart they trade the #1 for capital and draft MHJ. Williams has a issue with his reads. He misses a lot of open recievers on the back half of his reads. And causes him to have to do those scramble drill playmaker plays. Which is good. But the reason hes having to do that. Is very bad
If he is such an impressive passer, show those games Kurt. Cause having watched him this year and last, I don't see where anyone at any point can say he is special. Maybe more of a liability with his poor decision making. Hoping he can learn is not worth the risk considering the rest of what he is lacking.
18:10 you were completely incorrect about this analysis. You thought it was going to be a bad play and overreacted because you felt like hating. Then contradicted your own criticism. Caleb made the best possible play under those circumstances.

Caleb can play no doubt, but do a breakdown on Drake Maye, Drake is almost NFL ready right now.
He holds on to the ball, stares his first receiver down, can’t make NFL type throws and has shaky mechanics at best.

I agree with his feet being jittery and hazardous. Go back and watch his 2022 film and his feet are way more relaxed
Being able to groom a QB makes and sounds nice. But it shortens contract basically.
