I am from India and it was good and well as heartbreaking for me to see him in the series: " Line of Descent".
He is such a talented actor yet for many years he was not recognized as much as he should have been. Still he kept on giving his heart and soul into everything he was doing. Even when its far below of the range of acting this man posseses.
Still grounded and humble.
His eyes speaks of the struggle and pain he had gone through for year even when his face is smiling.

I worked with Brendan on BLAST FROM THE PAST!!!!!! he is so genuine and kind...humble.....he sat at our table with a few of my friends to eat lunch with us everyday! it was so cool...all he wanted was to be treated normal....and we did just that! such a nice guy

Brendan Fraser is a real humble,down to earth guy.Talented,funny,sexy,with a pure heart.Even tho he is famous,he has not lost himself.As long as he stays true to himself ,he will be happy,content,and go a long way.
He seems like a very grounded and decent human being. Im gen-x and always had such a crush on him. Love seeing him in a role that isnt easy and expected from him.
Brendan deserves every OUNCE of support and love he is receiving. It’s about damn time. Though the film he stars in is just fine (IMO) It’s HIS PERFORMANCE that is dynamite. Aging is a part of life, and one would hope to still be found attractive, but I'm assuming you're rather young?
I was once obese and I don't find anything offensive about his portrayal. He's a talented actor; glad to see him make a comeback!

Brandon is a gentle soul. His charactors in movies are mostly oblivious to sick reality of this unkind world. I think he is in real life he is the same way.

As someone who've not seen The Whale yet, I think his best drama so far was the 1994 With Honors alongside Joe Pesci. I love that movie to death.
That movie ought to earn some Oscar accolades at least some recognition. His portrayal as a Harvard student evolved from being arrogant to being vulnerable.

The guy can act. We all know that! That's why he is a blockbuster star whether a heavy drama or fun upbeat film.
He's looks so much like my brother in the movie that it's hard to see him but I still love Brendan and can see that he did the character with respect and not malice. I miss my brother everyday and wish I could hug him. I don't know if I'll ever get to see the movie in its entirety but sincerely doubt Brendan was disrespectful.
For the character he portrayed, people in the real world tend to look at this kind of art form as an attack on the obese. He was showing us the other side of the health issue. We that are obese should not he shamed and bashed and bullied about telling our stories. Even the actor himself has had weight issues for a number of years. Glad he wrote the book, teleplay, script and did the movie on the subject. Kuddos, Mr. Fraser.

I'm sure he has no desire to win a Golden Globe considering it was the leader of the HFPA that assaulted him and thereafter black listed him from Hollywood. He's already announced he wont be attending or acknowledging their award if he were to be nominated.

@@phyllishall27 that would defeat the point. If it wasn’t SAG (screen actor guild) members, the actual actors in the business, voting on the award then it would be meaningless. If it wasn’t the members of The Academy (the directors, actors, DOP’s, costume designers, production designers, sound workers, etc of the film industry from around the world) voting on the Oscars the award would lose its meaning.

My favorite of Brendan Fraser's performances is still in "School Ties." He was fantastic in that role! The emotional range he performed,seemingly with ease, was phenomenal to watch. I have been a big fan ever since...

Years ago, I was introduced to Brendan (not in real life, unfortunately) in a movie on TV called 'Guilty Until Proven Innocent'. This was the first time I had seen him as I think it was one of his first movies, if not his first ever. I was amazed with him in the movie, and I was happily surprised several years later when I watched Encino Man and I saw him again. I have followed his career since. I adore this man and am glad to see him doing so well. I have yet to see The Whale but I am anxiously awaiting it

He's always been one of my favorite Hollywood people. He's always has seemed genuine and humble. I'm so glad for him to have a come back. I like Chris Prat like Brendan, just seem like really good people.
One of my favorite roles was Perry's best friend in Scrubs. Very sad episodes but beautifully delivered.

Not since Schindler's List have I gotten as emotional as I did seeing Fraser in The Whale...it will be the performance of the Decade!! Another great role to an underappreciated film is Montgomery Kessler in With Honors.
He's a wonderful actor, and I've always been an admirer of his talent. The American was a good movie. And the one w Peter O'Toole. I can't remember the title of it. Glad to see him back.

I agree. Not a ton of people I know have seen it. Back when I was in middle school and high-school I wanted to be in a band like that. And that movie was one of my favorites.
I enjoyed pretty much every movie he's done. A couple of my favorites were in 2008. Inkheart and Journey to the Center of the Earth. It was fun to share those adventures with my kids. It seems like afterwards he disappeared and I missed seeing him.
