    I play cannonball because it is what my school rents out. It is nice but it squeaks like crazy and definitely drops my confidence. I want something cheap but very good and won’t squeak when I try to play songs. I am learning “believer” and my saxophone squeaks the second I start to get into high notes.

    I liked the Jupiter more than the rest to be honest. He also seemed to become more expressive when playing it which means to me that the instrument inspired him to go off.... a good sign... The Yamaha sounded more clean, refined or clarinetty which is great if that’s what you want but the Jupiter sounded raunchier which I prefer.

    i like how not only websites but also the youtubers never want to tell you the price

      Hi Luke - The issue with quoting a specific price is if you watch this in 12 months time, that price will be out of date, then we'll get comments saying "hey guys, the price is wrong, you suck etc etc" See the problem? So - This is why all the links are in the video description and the i Cards in the top right. With a click of the mouse you can see the up to date pricing, whenever you watch the video. Thanks for watching :)

    Of the four, my favorite would be the Jupiter.

    I actually like the lack of engraving on student saxes, not really a fan of ornate/flashy design.

    I remember 40 years ago the Yamaha clarinet was the cheapest scholar model.. our teacher had a wooden posh one and Yamaha in the 1980’s were known for their plastic, cars etc etc and our clarinets were looked down upon I guess, people would make fun.. 40 years later and my clarinet is still going strong 💪.. and it’s had a life 😂.. I’m wondering if it’ll be the same for the cheaper instruments from china ?

    Is the Jupiter series 700 much better than series 500?

    how is the jupiter stock mouthpiece compared to the yamaha 4C? I'm asking cause I recently got the sax and I'm not sure if I should spend a few bucks in an upgrade or keep the one that came included

      In our experience it's pretty comparable. It's probably better to save the money now and in 6-12 months invest into a nice hard rubber 'piece that will be more of a long lasting option for you.

      I have both and the Jupiter mouth piece …. Got sent to a distant place and I use only the Yamaha c4 on both and is Much better. Just my 2 cents.

    What about the Jupiter JAS 700 vs. the Yamaha 280, in terms of quality ?

    • @dawkesmusic
      @dawkesmusic  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi - In our opinion the Yamaha is a far more refined Sax and thus the JAS 700 didn't make it into this list.

      In Australia, the Jupiter JAS 500, is available at around $1,100.
      The Yamaha 280, is around $1,800.
      I still think the Yammy would be the best for me as an adult learner.

    What about Yamaha Yas-26?

    • @dawkesmusic
      @dawkesmusic  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi - This video is just concentrating on the available models in the European market. We have the Yamaha YAS-280 not the YAS-26 and the two are different instruments so we wouldn't make a comment or direct comparison on that.

    What about yas 23 Yamaha?

    • @dawkesmusic
      @dawkesmusic  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi - That model is not available in our part of the world, thus we reference the Yamaha YAS-280. They are different saxophones so we can only really comment on the models we know and use. In general though, Yamaha is usually the #1 sensible choice for beginner Saxophones.
