great footage again, just a shame technology went into overdrive after the rave scene as this was pre-dvd period, all the films of raves golden era were covered by video so the sound is quiet, would love to crank up the volume although once again this may lead to dancing at work again. Everyone off heir heads here and there's no holding back on the dance floor, just as it was back then.
This is a file of my FAVOURITE ever dj set, when Stu Allen and easygroove played at Pandemonium. Both sets capture the very essence of what 'rave' was all about in 91. I've spent the better part of twenty years identifying and buying the tracks on both sets, so I can mix them identically and have the 'same' mix for the rest of my life! Anyone want to the (almost) complete listing for this set? ")
i remember going to that rave, just after i came out of borstal at portland. done 6 doves, and raved like a madman, loved up to the max. NOTE TO ALL YOU WANNABE RAVES TODAY.....you`ll never have the times we did in the late 80`s early 90`s, you`ll never dance as hard like us ole skoolers. Respect to all you 40 somethings out there, we had the best era ever and it will never be same.
NIGHTSKYE1 You’re absolutely spot on - I consider myself to be extremely lucky to have been part of something so special and unforgettable... I used to double drop doves or DM’s with my boyfriend who’s now my husband and we literally danced all night and into the next day if we were lucky enough ! Ravers ruled - the police tried to stop us in the convoys but we always got to wherever the rave was... There was never any bad vibes, everyone was totally loved up... “ what’s your name, where do you come from, nice one “ I started raving in 90 when I was 15 and I danced with people from all walks of life and all ages, we all loved each other and the atmosphere was overwhelmingly happy and loved up. The music was mind blowing, especially when a proper anthem came on and literally everyone went wild and rocked together. Hands in the air, whistle possie... oh the memories I have are so special and although I was off my head I remember so much... There will never be anything like it again, people are different now and It’ll never be allowed to happen. It was new and the police didn’t have a clue what to do with us, they had no control no matter how much they tried... So I’m here now in my 40’s and I still class myself as a raver, a genuine raver from back in the day when Blackburn was known as Boomtown and Monroes was 2 minutes away from my home and it was the best place to be on a Saturday night in the country. We’d go there if we weren’t going to the illegal raves in warehouses or on Southport beach... I’m proud of my rave days, they made me who I am today :)
