It sure speeds things up knowing the skims a coming out perfect each time. Rolling the mud keeps distribution so even.

@@ConstructionCoach How difficult is it to maintain a clean edge on that skimmer. I've found in the past when I did mudding using conventional putty knives, the edge had to be consistently kept clean for best results.

I use a small knife to clean the edge almost after every skim. I also keep crumbs out of my mud and mix regularly.

@@ConstructionCoach perfect. I was going to hire a mudder but I might give this method a go. Do you find any particular mud works best for this technique

I always use Synko yellow for tapping, lite line for first fills then lite finish for final skims and level 5 finish.
