Robert maybe wasting your money now and then with poor communication and the odd mistake but he's also saved you a lot of money for allowing you to you his shop and helped you out as much as he has. So its important to keep that in mind Mitch, in the long run your friendship is more important than just money. I know times are tough nowadays, but just try to keep that in mind wouldn't want you to lose a good friendship over a bus. Friendships are more valuable than monetary things. cheers bud buss in looking good.
totally agree, given that the filming is several months behind my guess is that the relationship has broken down, why else would it be left in the video? but it's a shame.
You’re usually so grateful to the companies whose services you buy and the people who work for them. It’s absolutely clear that you never particularly liked or trusted Dom!
Of COURSE you are going to be just as meticulous with the interior as you've been with the exterior! Makes me even more excited anticipating the final product. Thanks for sharing this journey with us.
Where ever you sand down to bare metal especially underneath bus touch up with paint to slow rust down . Doing a great job and bus is looking better than new. Good pick on the new wiring it is really cleaned it up and looks professional and like I said better than new !
Great video. Atleast the wiring and steering column is in. Now for the proper shade of blue to be painted. You have a bond with Robert and other shop people that have helped you get Kona done. Enjoy Ning the video . Now bring on 68. We are getting close getting the motor installed and the windows and wood floor. All that quiet tape you installed . You should barely hear it run
Awesome Mic. I can almost feel your anticipation of completion. This is one helleva VW bus. My nickname is Mr Perfect but you are going way beyond what I would have done. Particulalry like the retro look on the dash but with great modern behind the scenes.
Got to love your attention to detail Mitch love your videos and keep up the good work love that your not settling for the Color especially after all the hard work your doing ❤ this channel
Really surprised a shop like that doesn't have a little manual tubing bender for brake lines. I think I paid $12 for mine. Makes the bends super smooth and professional looking. Also, you with a flaring tool (also cheap), you can make your own exactly to length from 10' lengths of brake line.
When I did my brakes lines I bent some clothes hanger wire to get the angles and length figured out before I bent the brake lines. I also used a bender so I wouldn't kink the lines either.
Nice work on the electrics and the brake system! That LVP is awesome; have it on our boat interior and our apartment. Hopefully color issues were soon behind you. 🤙
Hello Mic, great video! if all ups, downs, frustrations, hapiness, love and dedication on every detail is turned in horse power, Kona can go to the moon and back! Big hug from Bogota
hey i hope your paying attention to the rear wheel cylinders, the bleeder screws are below the brake lines which will cause a problem when you bleed out the system
as always thanks for the vids and the tunes . mic when dealing with excess wire it is best not to coil them.... basic electricity and a coil make magnets which interfere with signals and components and i know how much neater a coil looks lol
I am pissed of with you Mic. I should be sleeping but I had to watch this first. It`s late here in Germany. So at work I`m saying.. Damm Mic all the time. I hope you feel bad little brother. 😠
Are you going to paint only outside now? It´s going to be in 2 different blues (outside and under). So much perfection and it will come out in 2 colors
Excelentes videos Kona, saludos desde Mérida, Yucatán, México, donde puedo comprar el switch de encendido que va en la columna del volante. tendrás el link? gracias
Too short put a union in and a 12” or so piece . Still will look clean better than making goofy bends to try and pick up more length . Keep it clean like the wiring !
Awesome and I know how you feel about the colour I have a stone blue t5 that needs a respray some people say change the colour but I want it exactly the same but only changing the front end to a t5.1. Would love to take on a project og vw bus-camper
It's truly believe that the color is amazing. I wouldn't change it because the Different it's so little. That is not even noticeable, but that's my opinion. Why go through all the work again? Just because of different shades not worth it.
Disagree. Also, GoPro color is not the best representation of what you see in person. That’s definitely more baby blue and less tropical/turquoise than the look they want. A whole different vibe, and I think it’s worth getting right after the meticulous resto on this machine.
Do not lubricant brake parts or anything that will contact the fluid with your tongue you are not in bed use brake fluid ! It is hygroscopic and you need to keep all water and moisture from it.

Dude that bus should have been done six months sooner than it was. Robert didn't want that project occupying his shop, and I don't blame him one bit.
totally agree, given that the filming is several months behind my guess is that the relationship has broken down, why else would it be left in the video? but it's a shame.
The color on the bus already is perfect for it. I wouldn't change it.
I would have been okay with the color too... dont understand it... but is their bus, and must be perfect, to how they want it.
Big mistake in my book.
Yea, this is getting a little OCD with the color. Hey Mic, do you know how much weight you added using all that sound insulation material? 😳
Eh. It’s a GOOD color… but it’s not the RIGHT color. You don’t spend years on this project and settle for a different look than you planned.
agree
I really enjoy seeing Kona come together. Good job!
I love how detailed you've been throughout this build, and meticulous to make sure the bus looks exactly the way you and Lori want it to.
Thank you 😄👍🏼🙏🏼
I never see so much perfection in all aspect of a build... Keep going you are the best! This will be the best VW never made.
liked your new sign of inches two fingers brilliant!
You’re usually so grateful to the companies whose services you buy and the people who work for them. It’s absolutely clear that you never particularly liked or trusted Dom!
Hello cool video 👍👍👍👍👍 Be kind to the painter.
This is a great looking restoration!…….
Wow !…. Amazing to see you mastering the electric work. Very impress with your skills on everything 💯💯👍🏽😎
Of COURSE you are going to be just as meticulous with the interior as you've been with the exterior! Makes me even more excited anticipating the final product. Thanks for sharing this journey with us.
After all this experience you can get yourself a job at a restoration shop your seem to pick up quick and are a good conscientious worker .
This is a lot of work but love seeing bus being assembled with care, providing me with some kind of therapy 😁
Little anti seize on your splined shafts will help prevent rusting and if you have to remove will make you happy you did use some.
Such devotion and sacrifice is what is necessary to bring a bus back from many years of decay. Good job guys !!
Looks great. Would love to see it when it's finished. Very nice bug!!!👍😎
Love the neat and tidy wiring. Infinitely better than stock and will give trouble free service. End in sight now.
Bus coming along just fine. Just love the colour. Well done Mick and Lori. ❤❤

Can't wait for the next video... Hope very soon...
Wow, you two, the bus is really coming along nicely. Sure hope that the blue comes out nicely.
Mitch, your a wiring wizard!!
Fantastic!!!

Best episode yet. So many details to do.
Very good job!!!
The color you choose is perfect.
Super! Good job!👍🏻

This VW Bus is looking beautiful, a hug here from Brazil!
I always blame my farts on weatherstrip adhesive too!😂
Wow 😊
Hi, awesome Man, really like Kona bus, congrats.
Perfect bus👍👍🤙
Increíble dedicación y paciencia.. cuánto terminó costando ese proyecto?
nice. saya tidak sabar menanti vidio berikut nya😊😊😊

Awesome ! 😊
Thank you! Cheers!

Good idea!
P.S. anytime a brake line goes through a wall the wall needs a rubber grommet.
good job man 👍💪
I was waiting for this! I can't wai to watch it~ Peace and love!
And brake line master!
Nice work on the electrics and the brake system! That LVP is awesome; have it on our boat interior and our apartment. Hopefully color issues were soon behind you. 🤙
Excellent! ❤

Buen trabajo amigo !!!
😊👍❤️68 vamos fazer 🎉
You should have left the blue color on,I really like the colors it had. Hope it comes out better.
7 years to get this far Gunna be longest bus build ever. Not sure if anyone looks 7 seven years older Must be good living
That Dom is a bloody waste of space!
Awsome bro ❤🤙

Excelente chicos
Would have loved to help with your build because it was fun when I did mine back in the day 😫. Hope you enjoyed the build as much as I did.
Are you going to paint only outside now? It´s going to be in 2 different blues (outside and under). So much perfection and it will come out in 2 colors
Not really .. as the outside was supposed to match the underside color.. now it will be closer .. and who will be comparing or looking underneath?
Sooooo Impressive the level of workmanship but are you really going to make them spray it again? I would hate to do any work for you dude!
Excelentes videos Kona, saludos desde Mérida, Yucatán, México, donde puedo comprar el switch de encendido que va en la columna del volante. tendrás el link? gracias
Mic, sometimes I'm wondering why didn't you buy a brand new VW bus alltogether???
Hay está ella..🤔 un abrazo para ella...
Saludos de Mexico Mic

Thank you for your comment, that's why we always have different opinions.
That's My personal opinion.
I will leave it the way It is.
Do not lubricant brake parts or anything that will contact the fluid with your tongue you are not in bed use brake fluid ! It is hygroscopic and you need to keep all water and moisture from it.
The last clip of the video says Feb 17, 2022. So, Is the bus in Hawaii, crusin' the beaches?
Brake Master Cylinder: install 2nd Brake light switch in rear hole to block and not have leakage!
my bad;.....never mind as the brake line connects there....
Your welcome anytime brotha and sista! Miss yas
You're the best!
is "feb 22" a wrong camera setting or is this so old?
What do you do with all those places on the bottom where paint rubbed off due to install of stuff?
The sanding at the end musst be a mess with dust in the inside. Love to see how youre Bus is growing. Did Robert have no paint worker in the Shop?
Where did you ordered those special tool to hook up the wire with connectors. I need it for my 1967 Mustang
Hey, I have links in description box under the video. Sweet my dad restored my uncle’s 67 mustang few years ago 😄👍🏼
🤙
Spend the money and get a brake line bender. I’ve seen too many kinks doing them that way.
It's looking like a VW Combe bus again, slowly.
Acho que vou até o Hawai para ver o KONA ja pronto. Muita ansiedade.
.../
I think I'll go to Hawaii to see KONA ready. A lot of anxiety.
