    Thanks for the review. I have an Abisko Endurance 3 myself and love it! A tip can be that to reduce your claustrophobia is to have your feet down at the end and your head at the opening (as you should).

      Hey! Glad you are loving your Abisko Endurance! Totally agree on keeping the head at the zippered end. That is the only way I can sleep. Been loving this tent too. Take care! - Sean

    I use this as a luxury solo tent. I'm not sure if I would use it as s 2 man tent TBH, a couple tent or adult and child/dog certainly. I think you need good headroom in all the inner tent for a comfortable 2 man tent. It's a good tent.

      I hear you on that! It is very nice for one person. I really liked using it in snow and making the vestibule a larger area for standing up and changing. Stoked you dig the tent too. Take care! - Sean Sewell

    Nice vid... how do you think FJ tents come to Hilleberg in your view? I own Hilles and want to try a FJ tent. THoughts?

      Hey! That is a GREAT question. I am surprised no one else has asked that on this review yet! Having tested both companies and worked with them, I would say they are pretty even. The Allak 3 tent I tested was more robust (and heavier!) than this FJ tent. I feel like it is comparing Patagonia to Arcteryx - both are the bees knees. I would happily take either one on a hard core adventure. And have! I really hope that helps. - Sean Sewell

      @@Engearment Ya, I own a Staika which can beat any condition thrown at it, but it's heavy and being such a HUGE FJ fan (I own a LOT of their stuff) I was thinking of trying the Abisko Endurance 2/3. I think Hilleberg are the best tents made... period..
      BTW.. have you tried the Mineral King yet? So nice and the Sierra Designs Clearwing is legit!
      Just getting started really on my channel.. learning as I go. :)

    Really great video!
    I wanted to buy Hilleberg Nammatj 3 GT, but one reviewer said that if you are taller than 180cm you feet can touch the inner tent and make the condensation goes to your sleeping bag. I am wondering if this problem also does not impact this tent.

      I have not used the Hille Nmmatj 3, but have used other Hille tents. Being 6'1" I am always concerned with touching tent material, and wetting out sleeping bags. However, I have not experienced that in this tent. Also, I am a fan of water resistant down in my sleeping bags as this has helped in lots of situations when gear fails (and you need to stay safe and warm). Sorry for the long answer, but I hope it helps!

      @@Engearment Thanks! I want to a store and checked that. Unfortunately I would be touching the inner tent 😞I have been told that touching the inner tent is not a problem only the outer tent is a problem. I tried to find opinions on Internet to verify and as always there is not a clear answer to this problem 😞 I even contacted Fjallraven and they recommended putting a rain jacket in between 😞 I really love features of this tent, but I am really afraid of this issue. They have a bigger tent, Abisko Endurance 3, but lacks most of the ventilation related features, which I really love (e.g. opening both ends of the tent)

    Hi Sean, thank you for the review! I am a little late to this party but my wife (smaller woman) and myself (your size) are thinking about buying this tent. We also have a 33kg dog which would sleep in the vestibule. Will we be able to fit both of our medium packs in there as well you think? We originally bought the Helsport Lofoten 3 but set it up and realized it was too big and heavy for our needs.

      Hello Eric! Thank you for the nice note.
      My wife and I, and our two similar size dogs have used this tent several times. If your dog is cool with sleeping in the vestibule, then o think it will be a good set up for all. Hope so! And hope you have many great adventures with it! 🏕

    Great review, thanks.I had the previous polyester version which was great. Not sure about the stretch in the new silnylon versions though. I bought the new one person and found that the nylon stretches at different rates between the thicker base strip and the fly above. So when the fly is tightly pegged at the base the thinner nylon above still stretches more which made it flap more in the wind ( made for a noisy sleep ). Good to know how nosiy you found it in high winds ( the old one was near silent). Happy camping. Andrew

      Thanks for your great insights Andrew! The silnylon does stretch a bit. I just re tension before bed and call it good. This tent has been on several winter camping trips and handed snow very well. Take care! - Sean

    Great review. Do you think that three mid sized adults could sleep in this tent?

    • @Engearment
      @Engearment  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It would be tight, but doable. I have slept with my wife and our two dogs, no problem.

    Looks like it has room to store a Brompton folding bike in the 'porch', a good idea.

      Yep, it is a very usable vestibule!

    Great review man! I just picked up a Keb Dome 3 and so far love it. Do you find the footprint to be necessary? For me they dont carry the foot print yet so its a case of either making one or just getting a tarp to act as a replacement for the time being.

    • @Engearment
      @Engearment  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Leonard! Thanks for the nice comment. I bet the Keb Dome is treating you well! I really liked this footprint for a few reasons. 1) It makes a nice porch under the vestibule 2) it can remain on the tent, making it easy to pitch the entire tent (and footprint) in less time. I don't think you will need one for your Keb though. The floor of the Keb line is much thicker than the Abisko line of tents. So, I would either use tyvek (or other material) for a footprint - if you really want one. Happy adventures to you!!
      Sean

      Hi Sean thank you for the response! Is there anyway you could send me photos of how the footprint attaches. Is it just loops for the footprint of is it the buckle/toggle on it.

    • @Engearment
      @Engearment  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I can try to get a pic up soon. It is just loops. Then the other side has a plastic bar that you slide into the hole. It would be nice if it was an actual buckles though. After several times of setting it up and breaking it down, they bars have not fallen out of the plastic loops. FWIW.

    I bought this tent, it was ok, however, the after sales service from this company is terrible. if anything goes wrong with the product they don't want to know.
