- One of my favorite crafts is making embellishments using what I have in my stash. I like to call it "STASH TO TREASURE" or "MINDLESS CRAFTING." Recently, I again, cleaned out my “craft closet” and found a BOX FULL of stamps that I had forgotten I purchased at a garage sale years ago, any pointers? I just wait to start the fun !!!

What a great idea to get started on Valentines cards!! Sooo pretty! TFS. My cat flinched when the fireworks were going off that evening, but I gave her lots of love!

I used to work for a veterinarian and also I raised and showed Yorkshire Terriers. Whenever we had a frightened dog come in for a check, we never sympathized with them, but talked happy talk to them and would say their names and most of them calmed down and decided we were their friends. With my dogs, when they would be scared by fireworks and one went off near the house, I would look at them and ask them what was that? Did you hear that? (In a happy voice.) They would decide if I wasn't scared, then maybe there wasn't anything to be scared about. I noticed that whenever they heard something that made them uneasy, they would look at me first to see if there was anything to be afraid of and if I was ok, then they were ok, too. If your dog knows any tricks, you could get them to do a few tricks and give them treats for doing the tricks. I've heard those vests do work. If your dog is afraid, the worst thing one can do is buy into it because then the dog will know there really IS something to be afraid of. It's sort of reverse psychology for them.

I LOVE YOUR IDEAS! I only wish I would have started out watching your videos first when I decided to start paper crafting/card making. You are so resourceful and I find it very relaxing to watch your videos. I love your "use what you have mentality". I have spent hundreds and hundreds of dollars thinking I need to have all of the fancy gizmos and gadgets that most of the other "sponsored" crafters use. Had I started out watching your channel first I could have saved myself a lot of stress (not to mention a lot of money). Thank you for sharing and keep up the inspiring work. I wish you the best!
What do u do w these embellishments? Can u show how u actually use them?
Ms. Tracy.....i have yet to commit tio a requesr from one of my grandsons and great grandsons to make their valentine cards for school exchange. Currently have 5 ranging ffrom 5th grade down to 3k roughly talking about 150 to 200 cards. These look easy and quick to complete. Am i outta my mind for even consider this. Still in chemo theraphy broke a finger that has to set another 3 weeks and throw in some physical theraphy.😁😁😁 I take your advice very highly please help. Thank you.
Hi Janet...That's a lot. Health come first. If you are not up to it, then don't do it. It looks like you're already going through so much health wise. You can even get the grands to help you if possible. These little hearts are very easy especially if you take your time and don't over extend yourself. Cutting them out can be time-consuming and may be hard out the hands.
You can give him a children’s Benadryl. I use to with my dog --ir calms them or ask the vet for something
Our Fourth of July’s here in Deer Park Ny are very loud-and my dog just shook that’s when I’d give him the Benadryl
You make mention of mini books often....what are mini books? I'm new at this. Lol
What are you going to do with the hearts you just made?

I really like your attitude...you are so calm, and if something doesn't work exactly right, you just say its ok, and move on. You don't seem to let anything upset you! I get stuck in perfectionism and get so frustrated...
Just started watching you , you are so soothing to listen too! I suffer chronic pain from so many spine surgeries that I'm always home, I'm a crafter and do scrapbooking, just started . I buy most of my stuff at Dollar tree or thrift stores, I'm getting to use my stuff learning from you! Keep it up!!!!

A heart-shaped cookie cutter would be a great idea to trace a heart shape onto the cardboard & paper also.... :)

Love watching you play. If you have a die cutting machine, you could adhere the paper to the chip board then cut them out. But yeah, sometimes scissor cutting is just relaxing. Creative Blessings!

I have no advice for you as far as the fireworks/storms go with the doggie! My dog chewed/clawed a hole through my door, big enough for me to walk through during one of the many storms. We first tried trazadone Rx, no help! There is something our new vet gave us to try that you squeeze in the upper part of the gum and cheek, we have not tried it yet due to no storms. There are thunder jackets, but I don’t know if they work because my dog is 100#. It’s a shame it scares them so bad!

So much inspiration to use up scraps and stash...u asked about crafting goals for 2018 and aside for being more intuitive about art journaling, i think my biggest goal is to stop spending money because i uave sooooo many items to use up! It really is unnecessary and just not good to be wasteful with money when i can be resourceful with things i already have!! Again thank u for this video!

Love thoose hearts,think i am going to make some today :) about the Fireworks, my dog is really scared of them and for a couple of years we just sat inside with him with the tv om a little high and made it so he could not look outside the windovs that helped,but this year i have ordered a cd with sounds of fireworks and some other sounds i dont remember the name of it-sorry but if you google it them i am sure you will find it.. My dog trainer adviced me to buy it and then train him little by little to get used to the sounds.. It has worked for many other dogs so i am pretty hopefull-also the dogs feel when we get nervous or angtious so we have to do our best to stay calm-stay in the moment :) I live in Norway so we dont have fireworks on 4 july but we have them at midnight at new years... I am hoping this information helped. Big hug from a sub :)

Dear Tracy: I had brought a three pack die set. I used the larger one all the time. Than it was gone I could not fine it. I did have a few left I had cut out. I was hoarding them. Its been over a year I miss my die. When I ran across this video I said OMG that's my die. Thank you for giving it back to me.

You can get meds from the vet to give him when it is needed, but I give my baby benadryl to relax him. Make sure that it is children's benadryl
Our little mini pomeranian was afraid of the thunder and lightening, also fireworks and any extremely loud noise. We had a neighbor set off a cannon firework and it scared our little dog so much she had a heart attack and died. I hope you find a solution for your little furbaby.

I like the idea of just being free with the crafting. I like just being me and doing my own thing....my little doggie has to be held during fireworks or loud noises.
