Six months on the road and not a single van friend to show for it! I wouldn’t say that I’m lonely, but I would say that I miss having friends around me. The dogs and I spent an extra week outside of Tucson, preparing for my first nomadic meetup. I used my solar shower, washed my hair in miserably cold water, and then woke up to the most unexpected thing….

Cassidy's grandma here.... Hello from Kentucky. Always keep you a bottle of Dramamine (meclizine) on hand for vertigo. Also, I use an Echinacea/Goldenseal complex (Spring Valley brand at Walmart) for minor sinus and ear infections. It is a natural antibiotic that doesn't destroy your immune system. If you start using it before it gets bad, it should help. I know how horrible healthcare is and anytime I can treat myself instead of paying a fortune to a Doctor, I will.

I visited Quartzite in January. Like you said, it's harder than most people say. I introduced myself to several people and they were friendly, but it was just like meeting someone on the street. You say hi, exchange a few words, and move on. No one approached me! 😮💨 I'm an elderly solo traveler and talking with people occasionly would be nice. I think couples would be more successful then singles, but that is just my opinion. I made a connection with a woman who was also staying at a Wal-Mart parking lot. We talked for about 20 minutes and we were both enjoying the conversation, but the mosquitoes began bothering us. Where do you go from there? I felt like it would be wierd inviting her into my van and I didn't want to make her feel wierd about the encounter.
I struggle with vertigo, too, at times. Never fun.... Hope that you're feeling better by now and have another opportunity to meet fellow nomads. Have a good day!

We’re on a similar journey, except I’ve only been on the road for 2 months. I did meet one group of people, but we weren’t each other’s tribes. 🤷🏻♀️ The number one reason I made this journey was to meet people and make friends. I know it takes time, but in the meantime, it’s pretty lonely. I don’t even have dogs! 😁 I hope your ear feels better soon, and you can find a more flexible job. 🤞🏻

Use a clear jug near yr van in a sunny spot to warm yr water.

I live in San Diego LA and been commuting between them for like 10+ yrs and have intel and real nice spots, I would say north is prettier but smaller still lots of nice spots in residential and safer, La jolla is def the more dangerous at night peeps checking for unlocked cars, since but residential is always safest.
Ill be your friend in this area and id be so down to make you a cover video of playing guitar, and stuff, I like making people happy at work playing crowd pleaser, Your taste in your videos is nice =)

LOL.... I'm gonna make friends, dammit! One way or another! I dunno why, but I find that kinda funny. I'm sure it gets a bit lonely at times living that nomadic life, but don't let it get to you.... I think we're all 'alone' in our own little world, anyway, for the most part. Which means we're really not alone in a sense when you think about it. Anyway, here's rooting for you... now chin up, straighten out those shoulders, and get out there and make some friends, dammit!

@@girland2vandogs if I can ever get going, I figure it might take me over a year, I'm sure I'll get bored but I'll find people to chat with in stores lol. It's not the same but it will take pressure off, that's what I did when I use to drive a truck.

Good choice, constant moving every 3-6 days you'll never meet anyone to talk to, just won't happen...I have no idea why so many just sit for 2' days then drive for 2' days, over and over, esp out there where there are so many ppl doing this....I hope the best for you ..

Just discovered your channel and I gotta say love your attitude and aesthetic! I get the coffee creamer struggle as well. Hope you feel better soon so ya can find your people! Also, no doubt our healthcare system is broken. At my last doctor appointment I didn’t even get a prize at the end for being good. They claimed they were all out of stickers, suckers and slime. Sure.
