I remember being sick in January with a cold. It's horrible. The COVID arc is harsh to hear. Hopefully everyone is better by now. Also happy Keppler didn't get sick.
I want you to know, that you're lucky that you can fight an infection. When I get sick, I usually end up having a bad reaction to whatever illness I come in contact with. And I usually end up in a hospital because of it. I was in a hospital a week or two ago because of it. And a doctor mentioned a fight or flight response to illness. I have a short period of time to do anything, then the bad reaction occurs in my sake. I did have COVID once, yet the worst thing that happened was that I was extremely tired when I first came down with it. It REALLY hit me hard, but I felt better afterwards, and a week later, I didn't have it anymore.
Aww purring/mellowed out Keppy is a happy kitty. I’ve only mildly caught the virus once and that was around 4th of July weekend after my postponed 2020 High School graduation.
When I had Covid during Christmas I didn’t take Paxlovid. I still got better pretty quickly. Hearing how long the bad taste lasts I’m glad I didn’t take it. Also I have never had Lipton soup before. My soup of choice when I’m sick is chicken noodle from Progresso. The last few times when I got sick I’ve had sore throats and I usually drink Lipton black tea with honey and lemon juice. It helps!
Stephen and Mal, your family cares about you. Sending positive vibes to both of you. Believe me, I had COVID. And I was a high-risk patient. But a week later, I didn't have it anymore. COVID can terribly cut up your sleep schedule. Just rest as best as you can, and drink a lot of fluids. I got past it, regardless of the fact is that it REALLY hit me hard the first day. But I kept feeling better afterwards. And I always feel that the BEST MEDICINE you can give yourself is laughter. Just my belief.
What you went through with the coughing, that was definitely my experience with this. Not so bad that I got that little amount of sleep, but I still remember 3-4 nights laying in bed with my throat being sore, the coughing... and also had the hypochondriac in me being concerned I'll get worse and I'd need to go to the hospital. Thankfully it was just paranoia and I took care of the symptoms at home. Mucinex was my way to deal with the coughing cuz it was a good cough suppresent. Took it every 12 hours for maybe a week. The pills were a pain to swallow but they did their job.
When I had Covid back in 2020, I had the cough for 3 weeks. During the first part of the 2nd week with the cough, it turned into pneumonia. That's when the cough was at its worse, so had to be put on antibiotics. Sleeping was a huge struggle for me to during the night, had to lift my head up with extra pillows just so I didn't go into a coughing fit (even then it only worked a few times). I've had colds and flu before, but this was the worst I had ever been sick.
when i had covid i didnt cough much but i did have extremely dry nose/throat and had to mouth breathe for a while. like my nose was so dry it burned the entire time and to this day i still experience the same burning discomfort after a little over 3 years. the pain! man i was taking 600-800mg ibuprofen religiously because i had a migraine, started my cycle, and had covid all back to back to back. so i was legit taking ibuprofen day after day for weeks. normally i dont do that but i was so fed up that i didnt care.
Fun fact: the soup you talked about is made with different noodles in Canada and tastes entirely different. I cannot eat the American rendition. I tried. It's not the same.
I believe, I can’t say for certain (I’m not a doctor by any means), but it could be some of laryngitis. I experienced it when I was down with Covid and, let me tell ya, I could barely talk at all during the couple weeks I had it.
I had an "upper respiratory virus" in Jan. Doc was sure it wasn't covid and didn't have me test. See Mal's experience and some symptoms after the fact, I'm pretty sure it was covid.
I've never had lipton soup while sick, but funnily enough lipton soup was my go-to meal at SCAD when it was too late to go to a dining hall. They're so cheap!!!

I'm so happy to know that "Faucet nose" stage is something other people experience too, pretty sure that was the worst stage, my nose was so raw.

COVID was a pretty terrible experience for me, especially the first few days. Hope you make a speedy recovery.

My parents and I have had that new “mystery” flu since mid-February and let me tell you the coughing is horrid! I hope you get better and heal up! ❤
Nurse Kepler awwwwwww

We get the Mrs. Grass' boxed chicken noodle and add extra water and rice (Extra water is for instant rice water absorbtion).

Stephen: "These things are like 90 cents"
*One quick Google search later*
Me: *cries in 3.27$ CND at Walmart*
Our sick soup of choice is Mrs. Grass. Looks very similar to yours and it truly is the best when you're ill
I think i was lucky when I tested positive a few years back… no symptoms or anything just boredom

Has someone who has had covid in January it sucks a lot
Ah the Covid cough, usually only comes in 4 days or so later. I had the cough up until a month after I recovered.

Yeah laying down will do that. Sleeping in a semi-sitting position helps
"i went to bed on time!!"
"despite going to bed at 12:30-"
... 😑that's not on time Stephen
