Alternate is easier in my opinion. You can extend the damage phases for so long(ranged). I'm not saying i can do it hitless, but it is so much easier to tell each attack apart from one another.
Labyrinth sentinel has ended my hardcore runs before. The fact that you are just instantly deleted from one wrong move is so annoying. If I could remove one boss from the game entirely and never have to fight it again, it would be those stupid living cubes. I just want to ask the developers one question: “who hurt you as children?” Let me be clear. The reason this boss ticks me off is because of how it effects hardcore runs. You get through an entire world, which can be hours of work if you’re starting from scratch and being care so as to not die, or miss any important items. Then you get one shot by a giant cube with absolutely zero recourse. Your entire run can boil down to this one boss.
The cube boss is a child's puzzle level of comprehension. If you don't understand being crushed as deadly - your issue isn't the boss moving in a set predictable pattern. It's your intelligence and skill.
I just played through the game for the first time and this fella was the first world boss I killed. I got him on my second try. I didn't think he was too difficult, but I was also playing on survivor and he'd probably be more difficult on higher difficulties.
If you want an easy way to beat this boss on apocalypse solo. Run aphelios/starshot archon max mod damage with burden of the destroyer, Burden of the follower, stone of malevolence, and something else. Aphelios mod instantly refreshes on damage. The hands that spawn each take damage from the explosion. You basically get a 4x damage boost standing and shooting in the right place. Even elemental resist, thick skin dies. Though it will take longer.
He really attacks different on my end. He's always kept his distance and never used the hands in the ground move. His only attacks were lasers and balls of plasma and I managed to beat him second go around with a shotgun. I mean 145 damage a shot wasn't too bad and I may have been 3 levels above in power level but either way he was fun and the Gun he gave me after the fight with the Override pin was awesome
Not agree at all. I like this boss and from my pov is very enjoyable. About the build.... All boss are easy if you are on súper healing tanky build and know the mechanics.
@@Bloodborneisthebestgame Oh, venom is no better than the final boss imo. I’m just saying venom is harder than the final boss. I just hate the shift from epic dragon to disco room, then the goofy survival thing where ghost enemies try to kill you after you deplete its health bar. It’s not a good final boss imo.
Tell you what's a shit boss design, that progenitor worm thing. Swear the last 5-6 times ive fought that thing status effects don't apply to it. It just looks at me like I've killed its kids or something.
He's extremely lazy as well. Other bosses need to target enemies and have well thought out attack and animations. This boss just attacks the entire arena like some kind of shitty spy movies with aoe attacks and lasers.

I actually threw on corrupted merciless with the bandit mod and the challenger skill rampage. It made the alt version easy as hell on nightmare.
Imo the alt mode is easier, the uptime for ranged is about the same, but all of the moves are SOOO much more predictable and easier to avoid
